    I have listened to this video at least 10x today. There's nothing like listening to an organ play a beautiful prelude like this at the start of service. So warm and filling to the soul. May God continue to bless this church and that it will always have an organist to play this wonderful instrument.

    Beautiful, I love pipe organ music. The king of instruments.

    It's not only about hearing, it is about feeling... A properly placed SW combined with PA sound equipment in a 80 sq. meters living room with a height of up to 5 meters are able to replicate the reverb and feeling of that church. Despite some thousand miles away, in Germany, the deep bass of Calvary Grand always makes my stomach rumble like it should... Once you have experienced this, you never wanna buy any headphones again. :)

    I use this arrangement to close all of my concerts at Callaway Gardens. Dan also composed an arr of "The Church in the Wildwood" as a gift to me. I was SO HONORED!!

    I'm sure they would have let you play it. I had the opportunity to be there for the dedication of this organ. A great friend of mine back in my hometown where I grew up helped design this wonder organ.

    The 13th largest pipe organ in the world. So many churches are going rock band.

    daddy, I agree 100% with you. A mass/church service without an organ is not very uplifting to me.

    You must have one incredible Microphone; not often I hear the bass pedals picked up when it comes to pipe organ recordings. Very beautiful rendition by the way :D.

  • @JoeBee9
    @JoeBee9 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    One more thing, I wish every church in the world had an organ like this; it gives all the hymns a far greater impact in my opinion. Piano's and tiny organs just don't hold a candle to this but I understand that it's not exactly a space saver either ;).

    • @uriahpeep9036
      @uriahpeep9036 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      JoeBee......Do you realize the initial cost/installation of a pipe organ? One million dollars would be the average price. This is only the beginning since pipe organs need constant maintance for tuning and numerous other repairs. It takes an institution of major size/finances to afford a pipe organ. There are literally thousands of pipe organs all over America that stand unplayed and gathering dust.......because 1) finding and supporting a qualified organist is difficult and 2) many large churches are moving from traditional church music over to contemporary music which requires only minimal musicianship and minimal instrumental backup.....think keyboards. Bottom line: if you want the magesty of the pipe organ, you must pay the price.

    This is one of Moeller's final instruments. Dan Miller must have held their feet to the fire because it is one of Moeller's finest, as 449GO has already written. John certainly brings out the very best of this instrument,

    This is just awesome and with the exception of some churches the other churches want to teach us to live by the bible which is fine no problem for me but they need to go to the book of psalms and read where is says to praise the Lord with stringed instruments and ORGANS and thats my beef with some churches

    Interesting to see that a steam locomotive can have views on organs - not that I disagree, but I think you need to be concentrating on that overhaul so you can be back pounding over Dainton, Rattery and Hemerdon sooner rather than later! ;-)

      why do they want to take these great instruments out of the churches now?

  • @MrTurnthatfrownaroun
    @MrTurnthatfrownaroun 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the organs are usually pretty fragile, You could try getting experience first

  • @petterdiesel
    @petterdiesel 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How do you suppose you get experience? By playing them of course!LOL! Never discourage budding organist from there instrument. And, organs are not as fragile as you think.

  • @TheMysticalOrgan
    @TheMysticalOrgan 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Rubbish! Organs aren't fragile unless they're badly built tracker jobs. The very worst thing you can do to an organ is not use it a lot. Besides, do they want to have anyone to play the damn thing 20-30 years from now?

    To begin with I thought it was just the sound of the celeste ranks, but towards the end it is obvious it's out of tune. The trumpets painfully so!
