This job is called repacking the stuffing box(of a pump/a valve), not installing a packing gland .To do the job, new packings are pushed into the stuffing box and then held by the gland .🙂
Lantern ring... The lantern ring is used to distribute cooling water to all packing rings as well as keep the stuffing box clean of containments . Since the packing “grips” the shaft to limit leakage, even though the pump shaft is rotating and the packing is stationary, this can cause wear to the pump shaft.
They are not engineered studs just cheap nasty pieces of threaded bar! that's not good practice and what about using washers for christs sake you carn't just have a nut acting on a rough cast surface also why bother putting the shaft sleeve in when you fit the gland packing? it just makes it harder to fit, fit the gland packing first (firmly) put the sleeve on the shaft then fit the seal housing/stuffing box . when you tighten the gland it will compress the gland packing anyway.
whats the name , next to the packing gland , you didnt mention it (2 peaces oI= metal) pls dont make avideo iI= you dont know how to label it;s components

Those glands should be with lubricant or graphite impregnated.

It is called " Gland " , to tight on and pressing the packing forward to seal on the shaft sleeve when leakage occur .

Do you only have to stagger the stuffing packs 90 degrees from each other if there are 4 +? I noticed you did 180 degrees from each with 3

not a prefect way to install gland, glands are not cutted @45 angle, second insert glands by gland follower only, not by rod as shown
