This is my favorite Bad Religion live performance on TH-cam. The band performed great and Graffin's voice was a 10/10. Also an interesting set list from "The Gray Race" era which is probably the most underrated Bad Religion album. The rain at the beginning of the set is sick.
Peak of Bad Religion. Stranger than Fiction / The Gray Race era is their best by far. You can put those 2 discs from start to finish back to back in loop for eternity.
This is how Greg should give lectures. He is able to put esoteric information into punk rock music and make a catchy hook out if it!! He has to be one of the most intelligent men in music.

I'd so pissed to have to watch from that far away......I have been RIGHT in front SO many times to see Bad Religion. Hope to see them one more time before the retire!
TWO DAYS AGO I COMMENTED ON A BAD RELIGION PEEL SESSION FROM 1993. A YEAR LATER THE BAND'S PERSONNEL CHANGED AND BRIAN BAKER JOINED. HERE IS A TERRIFIC LIVE CONCERT WITH BAKER FROM 1996. One of the most famous American hardcore bands, Bad Religion formed way back in 1980 in Los Angeles and released their first eponymous e.p. that same year. The band released seven excellent full length albums before Baker joined Greg Hetson and their twin guitar attack took over. These two are very accomplished musicians. Hetson had played with Red Cross and Circle Jerks. Baker was one of the founding members of Minor Threat where he played bass in the original quarter before moving to guitar with the quintet heard on the Out Of Step album. He was the lone guitar in Dag Nasty as well as appearing on recordings by Doggy Style, The Meatmen, Government Issue and Junkyard. Here is a very well recorded Bad Religion concert in Germany on June 22, 1996. See it and you'll have a good idea why the band is held in such high esteem. 1 The Gray Race 0:12 2 No Control 2:15 3 The Handshake 4:06 4 21st Century (Digital Boy) 6:49 5 American Jesus 10:07 6 Them And Us 13:16 7 Anesthesia 16:07 8 What It Is 18:47 9 Watch It Die 20:56 10 Ten In 2010 24:22 11 Change Of Ideas 26:43 12 Along The Way 27:35 13 Punk Rock Song 30:46 14 Modern Day Catastrophists 34:20 15 Suffer 37:13 16 Drunk Sincerity 39:40 17 The Streets Of America 41:50 18 Leave Mine To Me 45:27 19 Pity The Dead 49:13 20 Recipe For Hate 52:02 21 Lookin' In 54:22 22 Come Join Us 57:02 23 Faith Alone 58:54 24 I Want To Conquer The World 1:01:05 25 We're Only Gonna Die 1:04:22 26 Cease 1:06:44 27 Interview 1:09:27
Great performance...the energy is incredible. However, I strongly prefer them today with the polish. Some people may disagree, but the best thing BR did was get rid of Hetson and bring in Mike Dimkich. The sound and accuracy in their live show is on another level now. They replaced an old school, punk guitar player with a musician. Some may disagree, but to me, it was the best move they ever made. It allows Baker's playing to shine and dramatically tightens things up. Dimkich's' presence was immediately obvious from his frist shows with group. It is unfortunate that this change couldn't have been made 3 decades ago. Hetson didnt' really write...he was sloppy....what did he add? He could play fast......okay. ..so can I. But it wasnt only the guitar changes that helped them improve. Just about every time they had a lineup change, they hired a better player. Baker...Wackerman and Dimich are all incredible musicians. Miller is not a Wackerman...but he is also an incredible drummer and does a great job. Anyway...in summary...as they progressed throughout their career, they made smart choices with replacement memebers. hahah that could have been my first and only sentence/statement. hehe sorry.
BAD RELIGION REALLY HAD THE BEST BAND MEMBERS :) BOBBY, BROOKES AND GREG HETSON, TOO BAD THEY HAD TO LEAVE FOR WHATEVER REASONS. THE NEW LINE UP FOR 2018 IS AVERAGE AND MEDIOCRE AT BEST. WELL AT LEAST, WE STILL HAVE GREG GRAFFIN, BRETT, BRIAN, JAY AND TWO NEW PLAYERS.
I don't know if Bobby is the best drummer that's played for the band, but for sure he's the one I enjoy the most. His style just suits the rest of the music better than the others in my personal opinion.
And all of these lyrics were written 25+ years ago.. .. .. .. no wonder a lot of punk bands hated them back then, they were too talented for 90% of punk/punk-rock bands of the time
Gold standard. I appreciate this now more than I did 25 years ago. This has to be one of the sickest setlists and performances I’ve seen. The Gray Race is their most underrated album for sure. The songs from that album are some of their best live cuts.
Bobby Shayer appreciation. Always loved his drumming. The guy's a freaking machine gun.
Miss him. Sweet dude
The best, although the new guy is pretty good.
My fav br drummer
By far my favorite BR drummer
My fav as well, kept songs simpler than Mr annoying fills Brooks wackerman

The best performance!! ;)
My favorite album, my favorite band era, Hetson, Schayer
This was the best era for Greg's voice because he still had that deep raspy tone.
worth mentionning : Jay's mic turned down, which helps a lot in enjoying a live performance from Bad Religion !
@@SPerras LOL hey he's in key 1/5 of the time!
Favorite BR era

Even the way Greg moves is just so cool, he's a hugely talented guy, and has a great band around him. X
Wish Bad religion could stay young forever, punk at its best, imo
Peak of Bad Religion. Stranger than Fiction / The Gray Race era is their best by far. You can put those 2 discs from start to finish back to back in loop for eternity.

every time i have a favorite bad religion, i discover and re discover another bad religion song and it becomes my new fave
That was without a doubt the best time to see them live (1996-97)
Their best show ever, Greg's voice is so clean
Juggernaut I said the same thing!
I always comment on his vocals, there just so so tight and clean as u said, fairplay. There an amazing group. Full stop.
