Could you point me towards where this happened. I haven't been following the homestuck post canon too closely, but I'm enough of a dirk fan to still want to know what's up with him.
Wow. This is the perfect song to put with Ultimate Dirk. He's always asking what the point of everything is, on what path is he on, on what the end goal is supposed to be. He created conflict specifically to prolong everyone's narrative importance. He's obsessed with narrative journeys, and is alienated from everyone else because no one else sees it like that, aside from maybe John, but he doesn't understand as much as Dirk does. In my eyes, Dirk is just a lonely person, doing his best to put meaning into his continued existence. One of the saddest characters in Homestuck because he can never be satisfied.

GodDAMN this is good. I love Dirk's character do much, and the Epilogues made me so conflicted. I feel like in some way, it makes sense that his character could take that turn, but I feel like it also would have been possible for him to heal and become happy. That would have been hard for him, though, and I feel like it could only have been accomplished if the group stayed together on Earth C and talked about their emotions and new lives. Someone said, in an analysis of the Epilogues- that was their mistake. Working together and relying on each other was the only way they got through the events of the first comic, so of course they were going to sink into their most negative traits without each other, on a new planet where they're literal gods. But still. It hurts to see Dirk becoming "everything he hated" and ending up as the person he was afraid of ending up as. His story is tragic, and you captured that perfectly.
I'm so glad I found this. And on 4/13 too! It's wonderful, the way you capture the emotions in Dirk's face, and the concerned Terezi peeking into the room, and just- everything was so- I can't- tears- augh *good sobs*
Again; I- ???? How do you do that?? The absolute emotion on Dirk's face, how you use the song to draw it out, I'm- ??? Awestruck, absolutely wonderful can I have some more now-

this is really lovely, i know it sounds like just the way people exaggerate their emotional reactions over the internet (like LOL) but i actually did cry watching this. like. actually started tearing up and then just full on sobbing in my kitchen alone at half past eleven at night. i think i had some stuff in my head for a while that i didnt even realize was running around and needed to get out of my system and when the video ended and i stopped crying and calmed down for a sec i was able to do some journaling and just like define some stuff ive probably been fucked up over for months now and ok im gonna stop this comment here cuz i m reeeeaaaly ramblin lol n still crying a lil but TYSM srsly just. thank you for making this and putting it in the world. im sure it wasnt the intention to make a stranger cry (LOL) but you did and i really really needed it right now. We have to do a Multi Animator Project of the entire Epilogues. Before I'm dead I'll see to it that at least some of HS postcanon is made into a cinematic production. Maybe I'll be 50 or 60 years old but I'll do it, with help or not!

This is really well done! I love your style. My one criticism would probably be maybe filling the long stretch of silence at the very beginning with some light related piano music or even some simple sound effects of the ship flying or something. Just because when i first started the video, i thought there was something wrong with my phone lmao. Other than that its so touching and wonderful
I really love the music not starting until dirk plays, and how did I manage to miss Rosebot in the backgrownd! And earth c shrinking as they fly away... somehow thats the saddest one. They fought so hard and tried their best to build earth c and now they are leaving it.
Coming back to this like half a year after watching it the first time and also having reread the epilogues and formed clearer theories on what dirk is doing, all of this during a massive spiral like.... depression am i rIGHT hAAA,,,, anyways this is extremely good and heartwrenching, the contrast of sketchy movement parts and detailed emotion parts is MWAH, those crying frames broke me uwu
