CONTEXT FOR THIS VIDEO
Within this video I battle, through playing my worst nightmare. Pharah. I don't know why but I thought that she would be similar to soldier from Tf2 when I first played her back in 2018. But unfortunately she never really clicked with my playstyle, as I would much rather play something like a hanzo...
So within this adventure, I'm going to face that head on, with my main goal being reaching grandmaster. However I think you'll find that throughout the video things take a couple unexpected twists 😆

The problem with trying to find out where special went is he was a small creator (he deserved a lot more that what he got his videos were amazing) but to my research the last time he was active on any social media was right before Christmas 2023 and he said that he was returning soon. Along with finding that out I also found out that some of his friends that he recorded with sometimes are in/ graduated college so there is a possibility that he is just taking time off for school.(I just found out that he had basically a mix of burnout and school and having no free time so ig there’s your answer)

Pharah's problem is that she's too dependent on Mercy. Zen and LW might have an easier time keeping her alive compared to other Supports, but it's not the same as having a Mercy pocket. She's probably the only hero who needs a specific character on the team to play to her full potential.
I think ana also does well with pharah. Especially since nano pharah is a crime against humanity
Genji is well
Though if you know how to play her right you wont need a mercy comming from a phara enjoyer. I can play relatively succesfully without any mercy but its deffinently easier and you will be stronger with one.

As a Pharah main, I have a few points to make abt this video
1. Pharah does NOT need a mercy backing them to be good at the game, as I don't even think I played with a Mercy on my team when I won three of my biggest tournaments as Pharah.
2. You never actually stated if she was useless in the video, you just ended by challenging some dude and not even speaking abt Pharah
3. IK this sounds dumb, but 10 hours is not enough time put into a game to get a good read on it, even if your playing for 10 hours straight. I appreciate the grind, but I think you have said yourself that you need to put in a lot of time to get a true perspective on it.
Pharah as a character is more complex than meets the eye, and after this experience, I think you found that true. Something you did in your video to get to Grandmaster was make sure you ALWAYS had a Mercy on your team, which completely ruined the point of the challenge. I won't deny that Mercy makes Pharah OP, but in my opinion, someone who is able to master or even just play well without cheat codes like that are the true Pharah mains, not the one's who sit in place with a Mercy behind them and hope to land their beefed up rockets.
This was in no way meant to be a hate comment or anything, I just wanted to provide the point of someone who has spent countless hours practicing and mastering Pharah for himself and bring some constructive criticism to the table. I hope you have a nice night❤

Funnily enough, I play pharah as if she cannot fly when there is hitscan or if there’s a lack of cover where I’m flying, and it tends to lead to some decent results tbh
As a balancing moira main i can confidently say moira is one of the best matchups against pharah because her attack can hit as long as the crosshair is near and can dodge easy

-bastion is the tank for the rest of the team rather than Winston because Winston will be behind the enemy lines
-sojourn because sojourn is really good and doesn't need to be in the way of the rest of the team

I found Ashe to be a perfect for me against Pharah. Because Pharah’s head hitbox is huge and doesn’t have her own sustain, You can just do a quick follow-up before Mercy could heal her to full. I remember the enemy team would play double flyer + a mercy pocket. It was super easy, especially since we would have an Illari as well.
I just hit 500 hours on her and I safely say is you need a pocket most the time (Unless your going up against no hitscans ofc)
