I fell in love with hog from launch of OW1 because of how independent he was. He didn’t have to rely on healers or DPS, or babysit to have fun or get value. You could just walk around as a fatass, grab people, and clap their cheeks. His 1 shot wasnt really a problem with 2 tanks, shields and stuns everywhere, besides unlike Widow or Hanzo Hog had to actually engage with people at close to mid range to get a kill instead of sitting completely safe 200 meters away spamming down a choke.
And now he’s gone. Replaced by a solo tank who is so situational, so dependent on people in his team to get value. He’s the opposite of why I liked him. Now I either need healers up my ass or DPS ready for my hooks, that or base my entire game plan off environmental kills. New hog isn’t useless, but he is FAR from consistently fun.

I would’ve wasted a lot less time with this dying, tone deaf, burning garbage heap of a game and all its wasted potential. 10 years of history for one of the best shooters ever made by one of the most beloved videogame companies in history, and for what? In the end it amounted to nothing. Just a symbol of corporate greed, mismanagement, and corruption. The spiritual death of a game and a company. Simultaneously not knowing what the fans want, and abandoning them at the same time. Hooray, rejoice! Overwatch 2 is here! A watered down, poorly planned, hollow shell of the original. Designed only to make a quick buck off their broken promises and then be discarded. “Yeah meaningful content is still coming, keep buying those battlepasses!” An entire franchise, no, an entire lore filled fictional universe left to slowly die in obscurity. Blizzard not only let me down, they let Reinhardt down. They let Lucio down. They. Let. Winston. Down. I’m done. Just done. If the devs themselves have no respect for what Overwatch once was, or what it could/would/should be, then why the fuck would I care about what it is now? They never cared about fucking Roadhog? They heard from the community that he was a problem that was making people not want to play or spend less money, so they basically removed him. Slated his rework for next year. When they felt like getting around to it. I played my last game of Overwatch before uninstalling it 2 days ago, and got Push. Fitting isn’t it. I wanted one last game as my favorite himbo psychopath fatass Australian, yet I was immediately forced off due to the enemy team immediately counter picking me almost out of spite, despite the fact I wasn’t even doing that well. That’s just the rock-paper-scissors ass hell the game lives in I suppose. The game hasn’t been good for years, and now I know it never will be for years to come. I’m convinced people like me only played overwatch because it was just a way to waste time, nothing more. Well no longer. The passion is dead and so is my trust. This is no longer a game I will support. I’m just done.

fun fact, hooking someone off the map gives you a lot of ult charge! esp if you hook a tank off the map
Yeah and half the heroes in the game have movement abilities to deny environmentals, and the only map where it’s been relevant is specifically ilios well and that’s it.

I just came back to OW because a coworker told me they play and I learned of the nerfs the hard way (since I was out of the loop) my main went from scrap lord to crap lord, but I love that you found a way to make it work. I've been using his secondary shot more often to finish them as they run from the one shot fail. Good to know that mercy buff will still let us one shot.

new hog most important thing is to PRE SHOT the hook combo either left or right click do wonders even without being dmg boosted or enemy beiin discorded

i feel like people don’t realize that you can still oneshot by shooting before you hook.
It doesn’t work 99% of the time, especially with the current support meta
Best way to play hog now is hook people 3cms away to still one shot, and all ways one ult the enemy tank to fuck their tempo

The nerf that roadhog got made me realise somthing spening hours a day hooking mercy’s out of the air and killling them with a single shot isn’t a good lifestyle choice so I did the right thing and became horrendously toxic
