He is claimed to be an ai, a custode, an impressive space marine, a great many of space marines. Either way we will all be dead and gone before games worshop gives us actual lore that delves into him.
We do know that he lost it at his own men for killing a Custodian.
He also rumored to be a Thunder Warrior from the Unification Wars. The only one to retain his sanity. He underwent the process to become an Astartes. And now this perfected Thunder Warrior stands as one of the strongest warriors the Imperium has ever known

It's literally a backup file of your brain that can be recovered after death and implanted into a clone or even technically used to body-jack someone else.
Basically, it's akin to a Phoenix Lord sort of thing, but more grimdark.
I don’t know who provided the Geneseed for the Minotaurs; but assuming they have some Blood Angels in there, their Omiphagea implant would be sufficient to absorb previous Asterion’s memories and skill in battle and assume his place; as the Blood Angels did consistently when they were ‘The Revenant Legion’ in the Crusade. Maybe he is an amalgamation of all the previous; but not a machine.

Every time they fight even middlesize dynasty that is not completely broken, they require great crusade era crusade fleets to even be able to compete, and its still "Victory" with 90% casuality rate for ships(and soldiers) that cant be rebuild again while necrons are losing their most basic ships. Hell even in twice dead King, to be able to fight dynasty that was already completely broken they had entire crusade, and that was one of the weakest dynasties at that point. Most of the time imperium straight up leave if necrons wake up on rather decent state, imagine, imperium just giving up and saving soldiers because it would be "a waste"....yes, they do it. While necrons arennot as active as other forces (because they dont really care about imperium), when they do, they are in same tier of threat as tyranids.
And i dont understand point about Grey knight, they dont really have that much authority. They do stuff alone most of the time and dont really care about anything that is not a chaos, hell they even work with necrons and Eldars to help humanity, its a lot better than most of the other branches of imperium do, shooting themself in a foot even if working together with some xenos would be beneficial. They also dont really execute space marines, only imperial Guards.
When Maynarkh awakened, they completely steamrolled imperium. Counquered 100 imperial planets in less than a year. They even gave imperium a chance, they show up, told humans that they will be back in a year, so they should prepare army for proper war, and then they left. Imperium prepared... and when Necrons showed up, they still annihilated everything in one day. They in fact stopped necrons for a while... because in space combat, they damaged one of necrons bigger tomb ships, and they they felt insulted and left. End of a battle was 90% of one of the biggest imperial fleet in history, completely destroyed while in records imperials werent oven sure they destroyed a single necron space ship(even counting smaller one, escort class). And then imperium abandoned entire sector and deemed it lost.

But every time a major discovery is made, inquisition put their veto.
Lots of majors stc were destroyed by the inquisition (or the high lords) because they were too powerfull (and it was the grey knight who make the dirty works) or dozens of marines chapter were destroyed by inquisition just because they were different But still loyal (and sometimes they are not even different)
They even wanted to purge the space wolves.
So i said another time, the principal threat for the imperium is the inquisition and the high lord

Speranza.... did imperium ever found STC with plans for ship like this one? And even if... necrons have stuff that would deal with it too, World Engine is not uniqe, they have A LOT of them, and speranza would be annihilated by it.
And yeah, Guilliman say that, he is right, he also decided to NOT fight Sautekh dynasty and even retreat from fighting them(it was in book with blood angels, they were angry that big G decided that fight against Sautekh would be too much). And you say that he have bigger problem with high lords than nids? Then its the end, because nids are currently beating his ass by themselves.
And sorry, but necrons monolith are far more common in necron armies than titans in imperial ones, losing them is not really an issue for necrons, they can make new ones pretty fast. While still, they still would be able to annihilate even castigators with their weaponry. And thats not even the absolute top of necrons weaponry, while that would be the top for imperium with castigators.

I think it makes more sense that asterion moloch is kinda like a Demi primarch or has a touch of Angrons direct gene seed or a hybridization of it. He was able to calm a raving hekaton dread with an order but it feels like there’s more going on than they are telling us. The lore suggests angrons power was to absorb people’s emotions like rage. I think he’s got a touch of that like sevatar has prescience and sharrowkyn had the wraithslip.
He sounds like a Perpetual the high lords experimented on.

I would say at lvl 12 asterion( BD 3) should be more powerfull... if we would be able to get to lvl 20 then that would be completely one sided.
Leaning into the Minotaurs being Iron warrior successors and Moloc being a some kind of AI, maybe Moloc is one of Perturabo's Irons circle Battle automata that was captured reprogramed and given a chapter of Iron warrior successors to lead. I think that would be pretty cool

DS9 had an actual (preexisting, even) mechanic to allow that. There seemingly hasn't been one specified (from several possibilities) for the Minotaurs.

I've made my own theories about how he was a proto primarch(kinda like how Alpharius can make a legionary stronger through blood) but it was either the 2nd or 11th primarchs geneseed that did it, there's a lot of flaws but it was just an idea

I have heard a rumour that he might actually be a Custodes. It makes some sense, given that the Minotaurs were made by the High Lords and only respond to directives given from the High Lords. So they could very easily place a Custodes at the head of a chapter. And who’s to say he’s not the only one. Moloch’s officers might also be Custodes for all we know. The whole chapter, perhaps.
One of the Eyes of the Emperor, a Custodian who's skills are no longer up to Custodes standards, would still be easily a match for your average Space Marine Captain or Chapter Master, so it wouldn't be that improbable.

Loyalist Angron, who looks like a barbarian warrior but is actually a rock of discipline and valor worthy for the World Eaters and the Emperor (example Blood Angels).
With his warriors, then finally with his sons, Angron manages to liberate the world of Nuceria and become its ruler.
It would be clearer to say that: Angron is saved and raised by the village of the city of Desh'ea and then sells himself as a gladiator planning its conquest and liberation, neither he nor Oenomaus receive the butcher's nails but they are still forced to fight with Angron who gives an honorable death to his dear mentor, then (recruiting more villagers and soldiers over time) in the last battle the Emperor decides to send the World Eaters to defend Angron and his warriors (recognizing potential new forces for his XII Legion) and subsequently, with all medical science, heal the heads of the surviving men.
A good example is Vladus Barca himself (practically the loyalist version of Angron).
And the World Eaters choose to repaint parts of themselves red to honor the title (and above all the sacrifice) of their father: the Red Angel.
Angron also lived alongside ferocious predators, the wild Wolves of Nuceria (hard-skinned beasts), before being taken by the people of the village.
And just like the Iron Hands with the Bulls of Medusa, the Dark Angels with the Lions of Caliban and the Space Wolves with the Wolves of Fenris, the World Eaters learn to build a bond with the creatures of their home planet.
Another good possibility is this!
Oenomaus had already freed Desh'ea and ruled House Thal'kyr, then after hearing about the boy named Angron, raised first by wolves and then by villagers, he decides to recruit him among his warriors, seeing him as their hope.
Angron thus grows well becoming a just adult, in a reborn city with a large army of strong warriors, successfully leading his valiant soldiers (and many others thanks to his empathic psychic power), with the title Red Angel, against the tyrants (witnessing the tragic but honorable death of his father figure in the last battle), ultimately becoming the Warrior King, powerful ruler of all Nuceria.
Some time after the planet's pacification Angron meets the Emperor, this time voluntarily embracing his place as son, Primarch and father of the XII Legion of War Wolves (World Eaters), officially making Nuceria their homeworld.
Or maybe even this: all the cities of Nuceria are governed by several Warrior Kings (with a valiant warrior spirit, fighting against the tyranny of bloody Beastmen), who over time see the rise of the wolf Angron Thal'kyr as a sign of a worthy ruler (and future worthy Primarch)!
(A soul like that of Sanguinius)
