- Its official!! Sirui has just launched 2 new lenses for their Nightwalker line up, a 16mm T1.2 and a 75mm T1.2
We put them head to in a video everyone has been asking for!
A little side note, the entire talking shot of this video in our office was filmed on the 16mm T1.2 lens, just so you can understand its true quality, filmed at T1.4

For those somewhat interested in a manual focus lens, know that they are a joy to focus with compared to manual focusing with an AF lens. The focus throw is buttery smooth, and rather than fretting if your camera's focus is flickering/jumping or choosing the wrong spot, you are in control. Thanks for the review... beautiful images and a reminder that the man behind the camera is more important than the sensor size.
Really appreciate the kind words.
Honestly, at this price it’s a no brainer for anyone wanting to get into cine lenses.
I enjoyed playing with the amazing IRIX lenses but let’s be real for a second. If you’re starting out with cine lenses.
Sirui 5 lenses +- $1750
IRIX 5 lenses +- $6150
Sure, if you got the budget, why not go all out. But I always ask this question, will your client know the difference, and that’s where your answer lies 😛
Nice review. I have Nightwalker lenses and definitely looking at getting the new 2 new ones. Appreciate this look at both the new ones. Plus the Monster hat helped, but I am slightly biased. Subbed!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and sample footage. I love the look of the 75 1.2 after seeing your video!
You’re welcome and thank you. Really is an amazing lens! My favourite by far!!
A set of these would change my life tbh 😂😂😂 Im a fan of your content. Great stuff.
Glad you like them!
@9:00 YES, I was just thinking this yesterday when swapping between the 16 and 35 on a shoot. I would love if sirui made “mark 2” versions of the original trio
The chromatic aberration comparison is the deciding factor for me. In post you can deal with difference in saturation or contrast but that pink aberration will stick out a lot more than the blue hue and will be a nightmare to deal with.
Totally agree, the Nightwalkers are great!
Would you pair these lenses with the DJI RS4 Pro that comes with the Lidar range finder?
To be honest DJI lidar is not there to replace auto focus.
The biggest issue with DJI lidar is most reviewers show you what you want to see.
Also the lack of quickly going handheld is a problem.

@@RICH_Photography Cool thanks man
My favorite lenses are Schneider Kreuznach and Pentax. Everything else can go to hell for their over contrastiness and edge effects. Sirui have decided, with this series, to go that route, and I am very much loving their stuff. What used to take 30 years to design now takes 6 months or less. I'm waiting for the ultimate 0.x 28mm to arrive.
Can you tell me 23mm full frame lens will be similar to which focal length for a6700?
15mm bro
Could you compare nightwalk series vs sniper series?
I believe the optics are similar, but sadly the Snipers don’t have an MFT mount :(
Just want to buy the 75 t1.2 for photo after I watch your sample.
The sniper (autofocus) version is coming soon
@@Eyeofkamau can you tell me about the source? As I knew they did not make the m4/3 mount before
@@zeroken oh I’m not sure if it’ll be available for m4/3! I only know it’ll be coming for the same mounts the other sniper lenses are available for. That information is from Sirui themselves, and X mount versions confirmed on fujirumors.
There will not be a MFT sniper lens anytime soon unfortunately
how long is shipping in the USA?
Not sure, highly doubt it’s long!
The focus ring on the Nightwalker felt way too loose to me, almost like you can flick it and it will spin.
It is pretty smooth and loose. However I always use a wireless focus motor like the PD Movie so the feel of the ring no longer plays a roll.
They didn’t send you a gh7??
Like rubbing salt in my wounds 😂 such an avid MFT guy and they somehow didn’t even see me 🥲
@@RICH_Photography I am honestly surprised 😦
Maybe on a GH7s they’ll notice me LOL
@@RICH_Photography I am sure they will
Automatic thumbs down for being a photographer, and for using the hyperbole "changes everything" with a straight face as an adult human.
Before Sirui launched these lenses, there was no 5 focal lengths of affordable cine lenses available to so many different mounts, not to mention at T1.2 with optics at such an insanely cheap price.
This did change everything and has left many entry level cinema lenses with 3 lens offerings pointless.
As an adult, professional photographer and videographer that has reviewed tons of lenses, this changed everything and so many new manufacturers are now trying to play the game.
Just because you may disagree does not mean I’m wrong 😉
