I would LOVE you to do a cooking skills series. Like the meaning of some of the words you use to how to cut various foods (and do it safely aka: keeping your finger whole). Maybe alternate tools to use if you don't have the perfect tool?
I remember this item first hitting their menu when I was 7, and when I tried it it became one of my favorite fast food items forever. It's the one constant of my order literally every time I go there.
The top comment on every video Joshua makes is basically a plea for him to be more realistic lol. It's not even rants, it's all genuinely polite requests that get crazy upvoted. What a patient following.

You know the funny thing is, with papa here talking about how he hates cold cheese on the taco. I very recently (always melt my cheese btw) added cold cheese on top of my already assembled taco. The contrast of the melted cheese to the fresh cold shredded cheese (thick shred btw, go big or go home) added a new element that I greatly enjoyed. Maybe different when trying to recreate something like the cheesy gordita crunch but for my standard tacos I loved the contrast of melted and cold cheese
i love this series because i will never have the time, budget, or resources to make this shit as a broke college student but its fun to indulge in the fantasy
I love this channel to death and think this is the first recipe I’m physically going to attempt to make. EDIT: Definitely needs some form of tomato for my taste, but still going to make it!
A couple years ago I visited Arizona and everyone was like your gonna love all the authentic Mexican taco restaurants. They're gonna blow taco bell out of the water .. and while they were all obviously delicious ,nothing came close to bringing me the same feeling of bliss biting into a cheesy gordita crunch brings
I would love to see you do the spicy potato soft taco or the Cinnabon delights, maybe a combo episode because those two aren’t huge items. Either way love the content!
Whenever I get the cheesy gordita crunch, I always change the beef to potato’s and I always eat it when it’s hot hot HOT because it makes it 100x better than when it’s cold or room temp
As a former Taco Bell employee I can tell you that the food comes out that fast because the menu is so streamlined that the kitchen line can pump out tacos like it's nothing and with the cheesy gordita crunch essentially being a crunchy taco with spicy ranch and flatbread with melted cheese wrapped around it, it's really fast for the line to make that. The 30 seconds it took for you to go through that drive-thru line genuinely is how quick it is to make a taco fresh there
Okay, but gonna be honest, the ones he got were made a little too fast imo. They might as well have given him the flatbread separately judging by the "cheese" that was supposed to hold it on.
@@ShadowReignhart that doesn't even look like flatbread that's straight looks like a tortilla, I was just saying to make it right it genuinely takes no more than a minute

I found myself using flavored Nachos on the sides because with the availability of cooking oil in Europe I am not willing to make the shelfs myself and I kinda had these laying around so I thought why not and I got to say they worked perfectly, such a nice experience since we don't even have taco bells here (at least I haven't seen on). The lean ground beef was a game changer, it gets so much crispier. Thank you for this awesome video Josh
You should do a "is the sauce really the boss" (Sweet Baby Rays) or something like that where you do a bunch of their different sauces. It's something different and I feel like it'd be pretty cool. if you do so make sure you do their honey mustard it's my favorite hahaha
The main guy on the line usually has a head set on so we can hear your order so by the time you're done paying it's usually done ( if it's a small order)
idk if it’s like this for every fast food restaurant but from my 2 month experience working at mcdonalds - we had to cook popular foods in rotation ( mcchickens for example ) because 9/10 that’s what people are coming to order. so for you to have had speedy service, they probably JUST cooked a batch of gorditas and dropped another, or the gorditas haven’t been sitting under the lamp for too long
I imagine Josh sitting in a recording room, dressed to the nines like Kenny G, 80's style with the entire Jackson 5 as back up while he sings his sweet sweet songs. It's not B roll but A roll that he no doubt should release one day!
When you asked how they got it out so fast. Ill give you some insider info. Most of the line workers wear the same headset the drive thru workers wear. So they can hear the order and start working on it as the items are listed
The cold cheese smacks when you're drunk that's why idjit! Hot savory food with cold cheese is like a food sub sub sub culture by now. Mostly in college towns and usually just on pizza but obviously TB's everywhere
Insight from someone working at a Taco Bell for the intro asking how it's hot: Usually, on the line, the person at the start (steamer) has a headset and starts making things as they're ordered when the drive-thru is relatively empty. The flatbread itself is put in a steamer towards the end of the line as the taco shell is coming down. Flatbread comes out of the steamer, taco placed inside the flatbread, its gets wrapped immediately and sent out. That's how they stay nice and hot! Side note, idk what that taco bell is using?? But mine uses way better flatbreads than that. Thicc fluffy ones, not whatever that place uses
Hi Josh! Big fan but could you please consider sharing recipes with minimal ingredient waste? Like oil cooking and dredges, etc. where you toss quite a bit. It’s better for everything and “but cheaper” :)
My wife has no idea who you are. She also doesn't know why I KEEP RANDOMLY singing, "and that's your beef, doesn't taste like poopy" for the past couple of weeks since you uploaded this
Im watching this as I consume my 1 day old beefy 5 layer burrito with extra sour cream and nacho cheese. If you dont mind bathroom visits being made a regular occurrence; taco bell is tasty and yummo.
Hey josh Thank you sir. It’s kind of a dream to make taco Bell at home. I live in nowhere so no ancho powder and Fresno peppers or crème fresh. So I substituted guajillo dehydrated peppers, jalapeños and sour cream. I made 3lb of meat so I tripled the recipe. And put too much cinnamon and it got very sweet. I’ve also never actually had a CGC with the sauce and the meat separated. But I think it’s like 90 similar but I also had to substitute. Either way way better than Taco Bell. thank you thank you thank you
if you stare at this video and think " I can cook this too!"... remember thats how almost every Chefs journey started. ♥ dont be afraid to even fail friend!
Everything in the cheesy gordita is kept in a heating element of some kind except the flatbread, lettuce, and cheese. The flatbread is heated in the moment and the cheese on the flatbread is steamed.

Can we get a series where you coach the crew through some dishes? It would be really interesting to see how you help them with their technique as they cook so I can see some mistakes I might be making.
I would LOVE you to do a cooking skills series. Like the meaning of some of the words you use to how to cut various foods (and do it safely aka: keeping your finger whole). Maybe alternate tools to use if you don't have the perfect tool?
Make tacobell chiken quesadillas!!! With the sauces that go inside and everithing🤩
No need. The sauce is the same as the video, and a quesadilla is just cheese and cooked meat between tortillas. Not complicated.
I remember this item first hitting their menu when I was 7, and when I tried it it became one of my favorite fast food items forever. It's the one constant of my order literally every time I go there.
Me too, I only get that or chicken quesadillas. That's the whole menu for me lol
This is too perfect! I just started working at Taco Bell yesterday!
Glad to see people are out there still willing to work, I worked at Taco Bell back in the 90s so mad respect, you still keeping at it?
@@neoasura Yep, becoming a manager in a little bit actually!
i like the way u did the ground beef josh i been tryna figure out how to make it NOT soggy. this makes so much sense!!!
The top comment on every video Joshua makes is basically a plea for him to be more realistic lol. It's not even rants, it's all genuinely polite requests that get crazy upvoted. What a patient following.
Papa and Nick DiGiovanni should collab!!! ALSO 6M LETS GOOOOOOO!!!
0:12 Best episode ever
Josh, I got your cookbook for my birthday and for once in my adult life I can cook something beyond rice and vegetables. Thank you Papa
I know you won’t see this but you made me laugh and smile for the first time in a while
Thank you so much
Liked before even watching it, this one was necessary... thx Papa.
I don’t even eat tacos…. But I’ll still watch it because
✨quality content✨
You’re missing out
I never had taco in my life. Am I still gonna watch this video? Hell yeah
@@hermiona1147 go eat one rn
Just don't get taco bell, those ain't tacos
@@dennisonthelens7562 taco bell still smacks
Once again Kendrick is DA MAN!!! He let loose haha!!! Again I’ll need to take out loan just to get the ingredients and the appliances!!!! You guys rock!!
It is my favorite item on Taco Bell’s menu and I’ve been wanting him to do it
Josh brought back my love of cooking. Thank you
Thanks especially for the naantilla recipe! I've learned a lot on your channel. Thanks again!
Can you PLEASE But Better The Raspberry Cheesecake Cookies from Subway ? 🙏🏾
Hey josh, pls make a 'BUT FANCIER' series, where u turn normal food into a professional chef level meals
..and call it "But Bougier"
Isn't that.... Just all of his shows?
@@Urvos he is remaking it. But fancier but would taking normal food and using those ingredients to make something entirely different, a gourmet level meal
Thank you I will probably make this tonight
No u wont
@@heyolorenns well i did so
You know the funny thing is, with papa here talking about how he hates cold cheese on the taco.
Honestly Kendrick should be a poet with the way he describes Joshua's food.
3:01 "meaty diamonds twinkling with crunch"
Just me or when he said that he kinda sounded like Ryan Reynolds
i love this series because i will never have the time, budget, or resources to make this shit as a broke college student but its fun to indulge in the fantasy
but👏 cheaper👏
I love this channel to death and think this is the first recipe I’m physically going to attempt to make.
EDIT: Definitely needs some form of tomato for my taste, but still going to make it!
Dude, im making these for my husband, he LOVES these tacos, I'm going to blow his beautiful mind!
Fast food employee: What a great day
**Joshua drives in**
Fast food employee OH GOD NO BOB ACTIVATE SELF DEFENSE MODE
I would love to see you do the spicy potato soft taco or the Cinnabon delights, maybe a combo episode because those two aren’t huge items. Either way love the content!
It’s like Taco Bell, but actually food!
I really loved the teleport in/out moment. That was great
Whenever I get the cheesy gordita crunch, I always change the beef to potato’s and I always eat it when it’s hot hot HOT because it makes it 100x better than when it’s cold or room temp
but dude i dont wanna spend 50 bucks on ingredients
Did you multiply instead of adding costs? How tf did you get $50?
@@drew_double_u😂😂😂😂😂
😮 that's what I'm talking about cuz lol
For anyone wants to get the exact feel of taco Bells ground beef to be texturally the same take half of it and blend it and add it back.
I can’t be the only one who remembers KenTaco Hut / Kentucky Taco Hut. Best place to go when you have a lot of siblings and everyone wants something different
Blowin' thru the drive-thru in my AMG like Josh. Always reppin'.
That taco meat recipe is amazing. I literally can't go back to the grocery store stuff now.
I couldn’t decide if you sound more like Ryan Reynolds or H. Jon Benjamin… but then distracted when I was trying to figure out what Oye-yun was…realizing it was onions, loudest cackle came from the depths of my soul. So thank you! Food looks amazing
My husband's a chef and he says ur videos are awesome 😎💖🎧 These fun videos are teaching me how to cook so for once I can make something for him🥰
ok man... you dont have to do taco bell like this man. idc if every taco in the world is better, i hold a special spot in my heart for taco bell
There's nothing more attractive than this man who is a combination of funny, a good cook and a hot guy
The main guy on the line usually has a head set on so we can hear your order so by the time you're done paying it's usually done ( if it's a small order)
This is literally my favorite thing to order from taco bell! I get it with the nacho Dorito shell too!
idk if it’s like this for every fast food restaurant but from my 2 month experience working at mcdonalds - we had to cook popular foods in rotation ( mcchickens for example ) because 9/10 that’s what people are coming to order. so for you to have had speedy service, they probably JUST cooked a batch of gorditas and dropped another, or the gorditas haven’t been sitting under the lamp for too long
The cheesy gordita crunch wrap is 1 of my favorite things on the taco bell menu And tip if you put fire sauce on IT makes it 10 times better
I imagine Josh sitting in a recording room, dressed to the nines like Kenny G, 80's style with the entire Jackson 5 as back up while he sings his sweet sweet songs. It's not B roll but A roll that he no doubt should release one day!
At this point this man wants to be the best food cook of all time, nothing wrong with that but common on, Taco Bell, anything beats Taco Bell
When you asked how they got it out so fast. Ill give you some insider info. Most of the line workers wear the same headset the drive thru workers wear. So they can hear the order and start working on it as the items are listed
Do we try out joshua’s recipes or do we love watching him
The cold cheese smacks when you're drunk that's why idjit! Hot savory food with cold cheese is like a food sub sub sub culture by now. Mostly in college towns and usually just on pizza but obviously TB's everywhere
Insight from someone working at a Taco Bell for the intro asking how it's hot:
Usually, on the line, the person at the start (steamer) has a headset and starts making things as they're ordered when the drive-thru is relatively empty.
You almost hit 7 million subs! Keep up the good work
My wife has no idea who you are.
Hey josh
Thank you sir.
I've been waiting my whole life for this video/recipe!
can i just say i found this channel when it had 6.09 mil subs and this is the first vid i watch... episode 69.
nice
luv the new intro not saying the other one was bad but it is still better
Make sure to add a hefty pinch of salt to the ground beef after it absorbs all of the beef broth and you add garlic
Everything in the cheesy gordita is kept in a heating element of some kind except the flatbread, lettuce, and cheese. The flatbread is heated in the moment and the cheese on the flatbread is steamed.
Damn even the editing is “but better” good stuff josh 👍🤝
This beef is bomb. I made it with a side of rice and a dressed salad and damn that’s a quick hearty meal. Takes as long as whipping out a frozen meal
