Ingredients Needed:
Texas Toast Bread:
• 290ml (1.2 cups) water
• 1 tablespoon (12g) bread machine yeast
• 3 tablespoons (47g) sugar
• 4 cups (600g) all-purpose flour
• 3g amylase
• 12g fine sea salt
• 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter
• 1 large egg
Creamy 3 Pepper Truffle Sauce:
• 1 1/4 cup (200g) mayonnaise
• 1/2 cup (110g) ketchup
• 1 tablespoon (12g) Worcestershire
• 1 tablespoon (4g) black pepper
• 1 teaspoon (3g) white pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon (.5g) green pepper
• 1 teaspoon (2g) sweet paprika
• 3 cloves garlic
• 1/2 oz grated truffle
• 1/3 cup (25g) grated Parmigiano reggiano
Assembly:
• 1 yellow onion, sliced 1/4 inch on mandolin
• 1 cup (216g) buttermilk
• 1 cup (150g) flour
• fry oil (canola, vegetable, etc.)
• salt and pepper to taste
• thick-sliced Texas Toast
• butter for toasting
• 2 cloves garlic
• 3lb (900g) ground beef
• 10 slices Monterey Jack cheese

Patty Melt from Whataburger is probably my favorite fast food burger. Not many fast food chains have anything like it

Out of over 2.7K comments, I really don't expect mine to be seen. That being said, Whataburger lets you customize your burger more than any other chain.. If you go through the drive-through and order a patty melt, it is going to be basic. Go for the options they offer, which is extensive. Ask for the same at a McDonald's....

We just had Whataburger for lunch yesterday and your video makes me want to have it again today. My go-to is the #4 double meat double chz with mayo. They are generous with the jalapeños, but they're usually just piled directly in the middle.
Whataburger is delicious. I live in New Mexico and we have the Green Chile Double and it’s like pretty damn alright. I still prefer to make burgers at home, but I ain’t gonna knock WB.
