    CTV's definition of 'heckling' is different to mine. They weren't heckling the moron, they were trying to tell him the rules, but like most Liberals he chose to ignore the rules - only to preach about them! What a farce.

      @@OK-hl6qd Conservatives are about the rules. Look at the increasing number of rules that the Liberals are breaking, the biggest one of course being the invoking of the Emergency Act. Any government that would invoke such an act on their own citizens in a situation that doesn't qualify as defined by the act so they unilaterally decided to change that rule so they could inflict their unjustified will on Canadian citizens is absolutely vile and sickening! Being the speaker does not give a person the ability to stop the business of the house, this is NOT a position to hold the house hostage and basically phillibuster the entire country's business.

    • @roen6800
      @roen6800 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      I don't support the Liberals by any stretch of the imagination but this was not a filibuster. He wanted to ensure that the proper decorum was observed because of issues that have been happening for the past week in the House. This action taken by the speaker may have precedent and was well-intentioned. I don't think delaying Question Period a few minutes was a big deal. Ironically, all the complaining by the Tories delayed the House's proceedings even more.

    Parliament needs to wizen up. The choice of the current Speaker of the House was a bad choice. When the Speaker decides to ignore the Rules of the House he is no longer following Parliamentary Duties of the Speaker of the House set out by said house. Greg Fergus should be removed from the position of "Speaker of the House" and get someone else to properly fill that job posting!

    Well, I do agree with the speaker's speech to use proper language, to prevent excess mocking to slow down the question period, and respect authorities.
    However, I would like the speaker to more focus on ensuring the question to be answered properly. Most of the time, the question was never answered straight, beating bushes and time is out. If the speaker cannot force the answer, the speaker is useless, and his speech also becomes meaningless in my opinion.

Further, he was just requesting a better recognition of professionalism and decorum. If that's bad, and any part takes issue with that then that is concerning. I, along with other Canadians, did not view this performance as heckling. I saw it as a complete disregard for Parliamentary Rules. While opposition members made several modest and valid objections to the abuse of his position, the animated support of liberal MPs illustrated that it had been planned and was supported by gov't. It further demonstrated that Fergus is not fit for the job. Conservatives should not have been a party to it and simply walked out as he began to read. Trudeau has made a mockery of Canada's Parliamentary Democracy and he should be held to account for his treasonist insanity.

    So in other words:
    "In a system designed to make our leader accountable and allow the opposition to challenge him/her, we will no longer accept any kind of talk that questions the courage, honesty, integrity or commitment of said leader... sorry... "anyone". If a question is answered only with misdirection or a simple refusal to answer at all by "anyone", the question may not be repeated as this will be taken as a form of disrespect and intimidation. Any personal attacks on "anyone" spending six figures on a vacation, five figures on a monthly grocery bill, randomly renovating their home and flying around in private jets with taxpayer money will not be tolerated. If said taxpayers are continuously growing in the number of the homeless, starving and ill (mentally and/or physically) as they spiral into poverty is irrelevant. This is not the place to mention any corruption and/or payouts "anyone" may be involved in and the sanctity of the house will be respected. If you cannot abide by this, you will force my hand and I will have you removed from the room to silence you. Despite the fact that the disruptions and outbursts that I am referring to stem from questions, criticisms and/or accusations being met by dishonest tangents and a complete disregard for accountability... I will not address that matter and that response will still be permitted."
    Of course the Liberals did a standing ovation after hearing this, but did no one find it odd they also did the same before knowing what was going to be said? Not to mention coming from a speaker that follows a predecessor that was thrown under the bus for a guest the Liberals invited and walked into the house with hand in hand. Things are only going to get more dangerous and damaging for this country as the election creeps closer. Speaking of elections, where was "anyone"... sorry... Trudeau? I didn't spot him in the wide angles. Did I miss that?
