If you don't have health insurance in the US, I would stay away. Going bankrupt from medical bills in the US would probably be way worse than than being infected with the virus itself.

Please make a video on the cults in South Korea. I read about the Sewol ferry cult, too, and I find it morbidly interesting. I remember when JYP was linked to that same cult and he kept denying ties. People seem to have forgotten about that but I've been side-eyeing him since.
I hope you stay safe! It seems staying in Korea makes more sense considering the availability of inexpensive healthcare + the scholarship visa thing.

Thanks so much for the updates! I get so confused trying to look for all the data myself and watching your videos has been really helpful! I'm planning on applying for KGSP this year and this whole situation is making me very anxious, I can only imagine what's like being in your place ;( I see the government is dealing with this really responsibly so I hope we can all se brighter days soon!! Stay strong, and I would really like a video about those cults you've mentioned!

I live in the US. Many people I work with are off sick and to my knowledge, none have been tested. Testing in the US seems to be discouraged for some reason. My point is, coming here is not a way of avoiding the bug. You, me, everyone you know will most likely get it and most will get better. Stay where you get the best health care.

I'm in Arkansas, and everyone I know has had what we think was the flu. I don't have insurance and those that do can't afford the copay. We haven't been going to the doctor , but most are seemingly well. Idk how far it's spread here , but I think it's pretty rampant, because everyone goes to work / school because we're screwed in one way or another if we miss a day or two.
People here have an ongoing war on factual reality, and that , I think is the most dangerous part. Anyhow , whatever you do , I wish you the best.

I'd say Korea government has been quite transparent in Cornavirus crisis.
I'd lived in US during SARS early 2000s and in Europe during new Flu early 2010s. But I had little been updated on national infection status. Sometimes Korea can be overwhelmly careful on the unprecedented situation. I'm sure that the situation get well soon. Just wearing mask for a while and socializing with small groups would be enough, but still enjoy your days in Korea. It's spring around the corner. In US and Japan, I guess there will also be huge risk coming because of virus.

About the video on cults - I was briefly friends with a girl who was (and I think still is) a member of sinchonji. I learned quite a lot about how it works and their beliefs. I also worked right next to their headquarters and would have to deal with them bothering me on a weekly basis. I could tell you a few things about them that you might not find online if you're interested in hearing!
Nice video. I also totally agree with the issue of masks covering your facial expressions feeling unusual. Apparently I look mean and cold with a mask on. :(

    Stay safe all.

I think you should stay in S. Korea. Economically and for Health insurance wise. I think you'll be safe there. But take advantage of the nice weather. Most of the people will be indoors, so take a walk in the park. And yes, I would love to hear more of the cult Sinchonji and the Ferry Sewol group, please

There's been no work! Which I'm thankful for the break, I watched a whole kdrama on Netflix. But I've been itching to go outside too. It was so sunny today! The racism is really annoying, I even hear little kids being super rude to X person or Y people because of the virus. I'm also really annoyed at fellow westerners online/in the news who seem to think it is not a big deal or the virus is like a cold ("the flu has more deaths")- they really drive me up a wall.

Just finished watching ur video. For now, nobody including the government, is not sure when this situation will end. Some local education authorities already pushed back the start of school year 2 weeks later but that could be delayed further like one or two months later. To my knowledge, 국제교육원 like you said cannot decide anything on tilmeline of yearly education schedule and has to follow the guidelines from the ministry of education. So, please don't be pissed off. As you know, koreans do things very quickly but why 국제교육원 is slow to share any info. with students is that it actually doesn't have any new info. to provide or that it has no authority to decide anything and has to wait for the gov's guidelines as i said. To me, even the ministry of education seems not to know what to do with the current situation. It is confusion itself.

There was something moving around behind you. Do you have a cat?
Anyway yes COVID-19 is already spreading here in the US. This was just recently confirmed after they started doing slightly more testing (how surprising).
Most experts are warning that just about everyone is going to catch this virus eventually. Some also say that it's likely to become a seasonal illness, just like the flu is. If that's true, it's probably best to ensure you're in an area where you have health insurance.

If you're bored, you could study and keep up on your Chinese and Spanish, since, unlike Korean, you probably don't use them much anymore. Do you know any North Koreans from your internship whom you could video chat with and learn more about their dialect and culture?
I'm stuck too, but I'm trying to make the most of it and use the time to do the things I've always wanted to do but had a hard time finding enough time to do them. Now I have no excuse.
(The first week is the hardest, but your mind does adapt after that. Just give it a bit more time and you'll find yourself less stir-crazy.)

Solution to smiling's dilemma, draw lips on the outside of the mask with smiling impression😅😅, include a mustache like mine. Everyone would smiling back at you I'm promise 😄😄.
You can go outside if you want. This is not a problem at all, just follow the rule of infection disease. I mean your area is not a ground zero, just take a simple precautions and it should be ok.
You should not wish here is ok back home is not. I mean we don't want it here, over there, some place, some where, or anywhere, no thank you we don't want, right?😂🤔.
My thought, you should just stay where you at now if going back home would create more problems. Yes South Korea in pretty bad condition in Covid-19 but atleast not at your area. If your area is the centre of the problem than you should leave immediately.
    Stay safe.

You should go out, and take walks. Relax! It’s good for your immune system. Vit D and C are good for you. If you come back, you may be held in quarantine. Most people who get it are only mildly ill. You’re young, you’d be fine, and you have access to medical care there. I live on my own and every August, I stock up on cold and flu medication. As well as foods that make me feel better when I’m sick. This way I can just stay home and be comfortable-ish.
    Sending you positive thoughts!

SarahsSeoulSearch 맥사라 孟欣怡 this is the same as the flu. A lot of people had the flu, and were very sick here in California. They’re not talking about the flu anymore, and people were dying. I’ve just focused on being healthy. Now, this virus. 🤷🏽‍♀️
Some of us have masks because of the smoke from the fall fires. Mine are rated to protect from viruses as well, but I have no plans to wear one, unless I had a cough.

You should prob stay put if you don’t have it. Tbh leaving and getting on a plane would increase your risk when it’s not necessary. Also it’s only beginning in America so you would come here and start the virus again essentially..
