    Hi Mikael - cool mix of running video and speed testing! Very entertaining, my friend. Ooh, we have (unsurprisingly) similar results! You have inspired me to edit and upload my 16889 speed test, coming very soon! Happy Sunday, mate! :O)
    PS - I was surprised (and very pleased) to see your interview with Chris Vallone! Really enjoyed watching that one, and thank you so much for the kind words!

      Hi Mark! Thank you. Took some time to edit this one. Appreciate the feedback very much. Ahh, nice, just saw your thumbnail appear so I am looking forward watching it tonight. With ‘similar’ I expect not exactly the same. Gonna be interesting. Happy Sunday! Uhh, yeah, Chris got a lot of patience so we managed it in the end. Not seen it yet. All I remember is that it was late in the evening just after returning home, from a long day. I struggled with the English words I remember 😂 Gonna be fun to watch. Think I will watch it with the Mrs. she will have a great laugh out of it 😂😅 Enjoy the Sunday evening, my good friend.

    Hiya Mikael. Great test video my friend. These look quick enough for a bit of fun. Is that van always in the car park or did you video this the same day as the Tamiya the other day. Anyway I enjoyed seeing you on Chris Vallone's channel. You came across very well. Cheers for the mention :-) You should invite him for an interview on Nordic Hobby Visions but say that he needs to speak Danish! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. Crap weather here today but was ok yesterday so went RC'ing and just looking at the footage now. Laters :-)

      Hiya Pete! Thank you! Yeah, great little ones for the money. Ha ha, you notice it! Yeah, that morning it was both HBX and Tamiya time :-) Thanks, I just watched it myself. For me it was a little cringeworthy watching it ... but that's the name of the game when speaking in foreign languages ... at least for me :-) He he, that would be unfair (after all I I am trained reading "academic/scientific English" so I should do a little better speaking/writing in English than he would in Danish). But maybe you and me should meet on a channel, and then meet on 'neutral grounds' and then the whole talk should be in Japanese or Chinese or something else. That would be a cool talk I think :-) Uhhh, yeah, crap weather here too.

    Hi. The video is very interesting, thanks. The only question, that remained for me: can you switch the 16 slower? You showed the speed switch at 50% position. Is that the slowest, or you can switch it even lower?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark! I think it's been too long since I since played with these cars to remember ... I am sorry

    • @richardschindler8962
      @richardschindler8962 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got one for my nephew. At 50%, the dial is set at the middle, with the arrow pointing straight up. You can turn the knob to the far left, which would be an additional 50% of decrease in speed (the same amount of decrease anyway, as a 100% of speed decrease or 0% speed would obviously not be the case, if you want it to drive, lol...) But yeah, you can slow it down an additional amount of speed, that is equivalent to the decrease that is shown here at "50%". My buddy used it in the house at that lowest setting for a bit, and it was still quite fast. The response seems pretty nice, as he was popping some wheelies a few times. That was one of the reasons I got the 16889 instead of the 18859, since I read that there was lag in the response time (I'm not sure of the proper terminology, but there seemed to be a lag within the connection between the "controller" and main unit). I couldn't really find any reviews on the 18859 that were not from 2000-2001, however. And, when looking to purchase, it says that the newer model of the 18859 has been upgraded significantly in regards to the 2001 model. I don't know how much though, since there were no reviews that really showed or explained much. The one review said that if you can afford to spend the extra couple of bucks for the 16889, that it is recommended. And when I compared the prices, the 16889 was cheaper, and not only because I found some on sale but the retail price was also cheaper (I'm almost positive , at least in most instances). I'm sure both models are pretty great and I think my little buddy should enjoy this one. I actually want one for myself now. I guess you can upgrade them with all sorts of different options. I'll try to see how this one works out for him and provide an update, if it could possibly help someone make a decision. Happy Holidays to all and be safe of there!

      A little bigger but not by much. So running in grass will be more up to the motor and gear ratio.

    Hi, this is an awesome vid, exactly what I was looking for. I'm torn between the two for my eight year old son (and me, snigger). The 16889 is certainly faster as you have proven, however from this vid the 18859 looks cooler and actually appears as if it handles a little better, hence more fun. If you had to choose between the two which would you go for? Cheers

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! For my son, 6 years old, I would go for the 18859 (he actually got the old 18859E and likes it). More than fun and fast for the youngsters. For myself I would go for the 16889 or the 16890A (see other videos) and perhaps, if I run it a lot, later invest in some oil filled shocks, but they are both fun. But the 18859 is just a little too slow for my personal liking. But you know what you like.

    I got the 16889 brushed version in today... I cannot believe how bad the shocks are. I'm not sure if I'm going to order the upgraded shocks I'm keeping or return it for the pro version. It seems some Pro A versions have oil shocks and others don't. At least with the pro you get brushless with all the other upgrades though. Plastic does average advantages though so maybe I'll just keep it and upgrade the shocks.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got the shocks ready for it. Just need time to install them. I think it will be a decent and good little truck with just the shock upgrade.

    • @williamperri3437
      @williamperri3437 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NordicRC probably, but my mind is made up and I need the brushless setup and wheelie bar not to mention the pro version doesn't have the Phillips for the tires and apparently not only do they break they obviously strip out easier. It seems very cost- effective in America to spend 127.00 as opposed to almost 100.00 for brushed and then almost the same amount upgrading it.

      Might be a damaged gear, like the spur gear. Sometimes in order to check the gears properly for any flaws one needs to clean them and decrease them. Could also be a wheel axle or something.
