Sorry, but this is one of those products that just isn’t necessary. It’s basically a very expensive piece of dry Marco rock. You’re much better off with some live rock or a piece of rock from someone else’s tank. I do think these could be useful in being able to move them to a QT tank for an insta-bio-filter, but a small piece of rock from your sump will do the same thing. Personally, I choose a small bag of Sera Siporax for $5 for this purpose because it can easily be bleached between QT rounds. Do yourself a favor and put your money towards something else for your tank.
