    Thanks for the video. I have an XMEYE NVR with 16 IP cams connected to a 16-channel PoE. Occasionally, some 8 cameras go offline (no link on the NVR screen) and I have to switch all the appliances (NVR and PoE switch) off and on again to see all cameras. What could be the issue - is it IP related?

    • @WentworthCCTV
      @WentworthCCTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      What frame rate and kbps are the cameras at? Sounds like a bitrate issue.

    • @kushis4ever
      @kushis4ever ปีที่แล้ว

      @WentworthCCTV checked nvr, all cameras online/offline are at 4M resolution, bitrate of 3316 kb/s and framerate 20 FPS. What could be wrong?

    Thanks for this great tutorial. But I was wondering, what would be the step if we use a wireless camera/hikvision or not/ instead of the Dahua. Do we connect the wireless camera to a wireless access point and then to the NVR? or is there another way?

    • @WentworthCCTV
      @WentworthCCTV  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use wireless bridges to extend the network the NVR is on. For instance, if I have a detached garage. I put a bridge on the house that is connected to the same router or modem as the NVR. Then, at the garage, I plug the receiving bridge into a PoE switch with a couple of cameras and manually add them to the NVR. It doesn't matter if it is a Hikvision or Dahua camera.

    I am replacing an 8 channel Hikvision NVR with a new 16 channel Hikvision NVR. When I go through the set up process using the wizard, I cannot get the new NVR to see the existing 8 cameras that were used on the older NVR. Any recommendations?

  • @alex.vlascu

    Is there any way we need to wire the cables that travel from the NVR to the cameras so we don't fry the cameras with the PoE?

    • @WentworthCCTV
      @WentworthCCTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not following the question. A PoE switch will not fry your cameras. Neither will the built in PoE of the NVR.

    • @alex.vlascu
      @alex.vlascu ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WentworthCCTV that answers my question.
      I was referring to the order in which I wire my ethernet cable from NVR to the cameras. If say I cross those wires and DC current goes in the wrong way into the camera ethernet port. Thanks!

    What if my nvr is 8 port and I have 16 cameras.
    I'm guessing I would have to buy an additional 8 port or 16 port nvr

    i still cant figure this out because i have hik vision thermal bullet heat camera nvr style model ds-2td2117-3/v1 no recorder the pc wont accept the tiny disc the camera is discontinued so i cant get help. i dont know what numbers to do where on mine you did the numbers for dahua. can you do one for hikvision only that is either net to connect? i only have a day or so left before i have to ship it back so i dont lose the $500.00 i had to spend for a camera that wont work for me. what number would i need to use type in the ip to get in my camera?

    • @WentworthCCTV
      @WentworthCCTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you downloaded the SADP tool to locate the camera? Use that and log into the IP address it gives you. You download it from Hikvision website, those disks stink.

    Can please explain how to connect NVR to 4 PoE switch because I need to connect 30 cameras

    • @WentworthCCTV
      @WentworthCCTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. Just hardwire each IP camera to the series of PoE switches. You daisy chain or loop the switches together using the uplink port. At the end, one of the PoE switches must be plugged into the same router and the NVR and you just network everything together.

    Hi, I'm hoping you can help, I'm desperate.
    I have a bunch of analog cctv cameras I have removed from a store. I have run a coaxial cable (power to psu, twist cable to dvr) both to the cameras. Some camera models work and some models do not. I'm literally moving the 2 cables from a working camera to a different camera and it shows no video.
    I would assume its because the camera is broken, but I've tried 6 cameras from the shop and they all show no signal.
    Yet 4 are showing an image. Most are hikvision cameras but slightly different models.
    All poc.
    Thank-you in advance!

    • @WentworthCCTV
      @WentworthCCTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What manufacturer/ model number is the DVR and what kind of cameras are you trying to connect to it. Some older cameras are 24V not 12V. If you are using a 12V power supply, that may be the issue. Also, if the recorder is old and D1 and the cameras are AHD, that wont work either. It really is impossible to help unless you give the DVR and camera specs.

    I need to find someone who can really go into detail on the topology of Hikvision setup. Can both sides of the NVR (LAN and Cameras) be set to the same IP address range? My router is set to 192.168.3. xxx and the NVR LAN side is set to 192.168.3.10 but when I set cameras to 192.168.3.21 and 192.168.3.23 and the Internal NIC to 192.168.3.20 I get an error message "IP Address Conflict". But setting the cameras to 192.168.3.xx is the only way they are visible in ivms4200. When I set cameras and Internal NIC address to 192.168.4.xxx I don't get an error message but the cameras are not visible in ivms4200.

    Good information. But just confusing when u talk about other brands . In my option as frist time setup up for me is confusing and keeps going off the set up track. I dont want to make life hard and add different brand cameras.
    How did you even find out how to login to make it work.
    I am lost in space now.
    Can you do just a step-by-step using Hikvison and how to make it secure. Is there a app.
