    That is sweeet ! That nerf bar really sets off the back end of this hot rod. And the step detail you designed into those gussets is a master stroke, as you said “art deco “ . It’s these little things that really make a difference, plus from what I can see on the screen you won’t see those gussets unless you get on your knees and look under and then it’s “right on, nice touch “. Well done Lee 👍🏻

    Nice Job Lee.... Always look forward to each Saturday to see what you been working on. Would love to have a plasma table to step up my fabrication work, but as a retired guy just doing it for a hobby it is hard to justify the cost

      Have a photo of a red Model A coupe with a similar chrome nerf bar to hide the rolled pan seam. The bullets were a good match to other car features, his ended with a 2 inch vertical radius and the sharp corner broken with an 1/8 radius from a trip to a machine shop. A horizontal arc matching the body line you pointed could work with the sharp corner broken.

    • @waynespyker5731
      @waynespyker5731 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@hbrown2687 There are milling attachments for some lathes. The cutter is in the head stock, the attachment replaces the tool post, cutting depth is provided by the saddle travel, horizontal cuts are cross feed while vertical cuts are attachment feed. These expensive and rare items are limited in travel, heavy milling and fixturing of your workpiece.

      @hbrown2687 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@waynespyker5731 Yeah, I was lucky enough when I got my lathe that it came with the milling attachment, taper attachment, steady rest, center, tool grinder attachment and a full set of collets and tons of tooling

    Looks good but I think it would look better if the gussets where welded to the outside of the brackets. Just my opinion.

    Hello Lee I like that nurf bar. Tube would be lighter if just for decoration. But more work and harder to achieve the same result. I think that bar would save the rear body work if ever it was needed. But then you throw winters into the equations. Now it don’t need no tank out there. Would an old socket make that centre tweek? Can I e mail you about merch. Many thanks Tim.

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Originally I was thinking of making it from tubing, but the owner requested solid bar, and traditionally most nerf bars are made from solid bar anyway.

    Wondered why solid bar stock instead of a tube, since you said it was just to "add some pizzazz" to the back. That's a big chunk of heavy pizzzazz back there.

  • @camcutcnc
    @camcutcnc 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Hi, I'm not sure what grade of steel you used before. better grades of steel have more spring back. A solid round bar is going to be a low grade steel which is dead and will not want to spring back.
