Honestly have not found anyone who’s done that but I agree
he did it on his older videos. Those were useful, helped me to say no to AWE touring cause that shit is way too loud. Close to or over 120db

I don’t have an 86/brz but I do have the xforce on my gti. Mine got the 4 tones of valve and it’s really handy. It’s better to leave it opened for most of the time and at least for start up! Great video as always Kevin!🤛

I'm willing to pay the price so long as it sounds and looks worthwhile. Biggest pro is how much is incorporated into the system. Definitely a high premium tier exhaust.

Hi Kevin, thanks for the great video on this new exhaust. Sounds really nice in the idle state and revs. Do you by chance know if the manual states the dB rating or if X-force states it, didn't see it on their website description? Wondering if this is CA compliant since they're strict here :(

Lowkey sounds sicc but can’t judge it yet since it wasn’t tested properly. I wish they had made this fully titanium then they definitely would’ve had my money.
I love that the electronic valve has come out for this, but I wish the sound was a bit deeper/more throaty. The higher pitch sound like you have a pop can on the back of the car has never been my favorite.
You done many exhaust. can you rate all of the exhaust that you install in your car? Loudest to quiet.

Bit desperate for help here so hope someone sees this. I bought the 2.5 inch varex system and can not get the midpipe to seal to the frontpipe what are you actually supposed to do here? I removed the donut gasket but the factory spring bolts won’t bring the 2 flanges together and seal with the provided 2 bolt gasket?

How would you say it compares in volume to an axle back with the valve closed? I really want a catback but I live in a gated neighborhood. Currently have an axle back and am wondering if the catback with the valve closed is gonna be noticebly louder.

Hey I’ve been trying to decide on a exhaust and really want the apexi dual exhaust n1 evolution extreme I’ve heard people say it’s not very loud that being said is it at least louder then the stock exhaust?
I'd still like to hear outside runs of this exhaust under load.
did you only replace the muffler? do they sell just the muffler for the vbs
hard to tell if its quiet when the valve is closed, still sounds loud.

Kevin. Thanks for the info on this exhaust. I ordered one for my 22 Brz. It’s been a challenge installing it with just rhino ramps and no lift. Do I need to use the gaskets provided to install the flex pipe to the cat? It doesn’t seem to sit flush with it and I’m having a hell of a time trying to insert the oem spring bolt since the provided bolts from them are too big. Any tips/hints specially since I’m trying to do this on my back without a lift?

I fitted this system to my GR86 about 4 months ago and absolutely love it. I have the v/v closed on start up in the garage and open it as soon as I leave the driveway.
If you get the revs just right on downshifts you can get a pop out of it. When I first had it fitted at my local exhaust shop ($1500 Aust) I left there thinking OMG what have I done, but it was a new sound I just had to get used to, and I'm so glad I did it, stock is just too quite.

How is this exhaust when cruising on the HWY in closed? Is it more or less stock sounding? As one of my own purposes would be is to have it closed on long HWY drives, but then open it up when I am out doing spirited driving.

Did they send you the 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust? I’ve only seen videos of the 3 inch and you linked the 2.5 inch the description. Never heard you mention which one it was in the video.

@@ShinyNewPenny he replied on Reddit. They sent him a 2.5 inch. I ordered/installed a 3 inch (plan to add forced induction in the future) so I’d be really interested to hear the difference. Larger diameters tend to be slightly louder.

The extra tips are not added in to the cost of the kit, we put those in cost free as a bonus! 😃

Well, it's cheaper than a Magnaflow NEO, and on par with HKS Spec-L II and APEXi N1-x. But yes, not the most affordable.
