your videos are amazing. thanks for the amazing vibes!
Thanks for this video with key content for starters 💜
I just took possession of mu 2023 GR86 premium. This video is very helpful!
Hi Kevin, First time viewer and new sub. This was one of the most informative videos on the GR86/BRZ I’ve seen yet. You have a wonderful talent for instruction that makes learning easy and enjoyable. I look forward to more of your content. Cheers, Dave
Great video. The hood prop bit is enlightening!!
I don't even own this car and I wanted to know all this stuff. Lmao
Ohhhhh the hood prop location is actually awesome, thanks for this upload!
Perfect, thanks!
Just got my gr86 2023 and this video has helped me so much
Kevin, this was fantastic. Both in its content and in your presentation. Had mine for two weeks, I’ve barely scratched all the secret stuff in the owners manual, but you have saved me a lot of trouble. I am subscribed. I’m going to go through your channel, but taking the cowards way out have you addressed the RTV in the oil pan question in any of your work? And again, thanks.
Great video
Great informations and video
brilliant findings!
My future car is looking really good!
Saw the guy in the trunk and laughed 😂 Instantly hit there like button :)
BRO THANK YOU FOR SHOWING HOW TO TURN OFF THAT SEATBELT CHIME NOISE!
SO MANY COOL SECRETS TO THE HACHIROKU. 🙌🏽
TAKUMI SENT ME.
NAMASTE 🙏🏽 FROM BROOKLYN.
Saving up for a 2023 BRZ Limited. Such a sexy car. Will be my first RWD
The seatbelt chime!!! OMG thank you! I frequently put heavy-ish objects on my passenger seat and the car drives me absolutely insane. Awesome video!
Thank you
I appreciate this video, didn't know half the stuff about my car I geuss 🤣
I like this video
Cool about the locking
6:23 if you have just bought one brand new the break in period is 1000 miles and under 4000 rpm so should change that setting for break in period.
Can't wait to use this knowledge when I get this car... in 3 years :/. Nonetheless it was a great video!
Hi Kevin. Thank you for the tutorials. How may I enable the following 1) key fob auto start, 2) key fob both windows down, 3) reverse tilt and auto fold mirrors, and 4) drive (lock) and park (unlock)
The boot code key feature is like the most random thing ever. 😂
The rev alert was super useful for running the engine in. 4K first 1,000 miles then 6k for 2nd 1,000 miles.
I have been looking for videos on the keyless entry for a few weeks. I also need to figure out how the push button start works. I am old and don’t even have a key fob for my current vehicle so when I get my gr86 there is going to be a huge learning curve. Also do you have to pull up on that shifter to get into reverse?
Yes, you pull up on the reverse lockout to allow the shifter to go into reverse.
Hood prop thing is cool
So great to learn that it is relatively easy to disconnect the cabin engine sound module. I am still waiting for mine to get delivered but I hear very different opinions about the sound and it is nice to know I will have the option to turn it off.
Great video!!
If you turn it off and have a manual you will want an exhaust, the stock one is too damn quiet.
Mine was off straight from the truck. I test drove an automatic and put down a deposit on a manual while it was still in transit. Engine audio was very obviously on in the auto, but as far as I can tell all original OEM wrapping was on all the seats and the car had 0 miles. It’s been two weeks and I still wonder why it’s off.
@@Rob165x Which is exactly what I did in the end. Drove with fake engine noise off for around 2 weeks which I still think is better than with it on, but it is very quiet. Something is missing for such a car, so I put on a catback exhaust and now it is how it supposed to be 😃
@@ratatatatata5290 On the auto it is quieter if not in sport or track mode. Not sure which, but it's an option us manual users wish we had. Since you're still in break in you haven't revved it out enough to notice it, but try the other modes. I think on normal it's only noticeable in the upper ranges but even when it's on loud mode it's more subtle below like 4k, almost sounds natural.
@@Rob165x I’ll have to look into it. Tbh the whole time I was driving the automatic I was just thinking about how bad the transmission timing was. I’m
Not a manual elitist and this is actually my first manual car. I was actually going to buy the auto before I test drove it. 250 miles into break in and I’m already rev-matching through every gear though so it was 1000% worth.
How often should I change the filter. And when I get new rims with winter tires do I need to push that button!??
Cool
Great video thanks!
How come my 2023 limited BRZ doesn't have "welcome lighting".
This is the EU version. Does anyone know if it can be activated, e.g. by changing the software?
請問,我已經成功開啟後車箱想鎖門就不能鎖上了,
開後還能沒鑰匙🔑能鎖嗎?
I had to turn my rev indicator on I hated the feeling of facing it out and feeling like the power is immediately cut. Also thanks for the cabin filter location. Learned something nrw
Hi, this video was really useful and interesting, so thnx for making. I have a question, how can you change the sparkplugs? (I heared a very weird version, as its a boxer, and both cylinderheads are very close to the enginbay, you have to take out the engine. Could it be true? Could you confirm it?
You don't have to take the engine out, but I think you need to work from the bottom and possibly remove the headers. Just uncomfortable to reach.
But does the key still send out a signal? Other wise kinda pointless to turn off keyless entry.
Awesome vid man! So for the trunk feature and you lock your keys in, does it unlock the trunk and doors? Or just the trunk?
门不会锁怎么办 开门的sensor有反应,就是锁没有反应
2.42 how do u lock with code?
Mann i love this car, gotta save up 2 years but gon be worth + lower price 😊
does the "disable seat belt warning sound" trick work on any other late model Toyota by any chance?
Just picked up a 2023 gr86 - feel like the luckiest guy on earth!! Thank you for this video - probably would have never found how to do most of these. 👍
Did you just repeat this video with the red car instead of the neptune blue 😂
Also, not sure if true or not but in your other video someone in the comments mentioned that in the latest firmware/software update for the car they added the active sound control as a dashboard menu option.
I tried to add a different touch to this one haha
Haven't heard about the firmware update. I'll have to look into that.
Warning to anyone looking to unplug the sound module on a RHD car (Japan, Australia, UK, etc) it's accessible by removing the glove box, if you remove the side panel you can't get to the clip as the clip is on the right side and only accessible from glovebox removable.
BTW it makes the car very quiet and is actually better on until you get an exhaust.
Is it possible to lock your car while it being idle? It's ironic bc when you remote start via the app it is idle and locked but can't seem to lock it while I manually run it and try to lock it with the key fob.
I have not tried this so can't comment. I'll mess around with it and come back with more info.
@@KevinVo appreciate it, it's actually annoying. Go into a gas station but wanna leave your car running bc it's 106 outside but can't lock it for some reason. I would have to force lock the doors and then use the 🔑 to unlock it.
Going to annoy me in the winter too lol
I disconnected the fake engine noise. I can now listen to my sub-woofer a lot better. Thank you for this tip. I am glad I did it.
Jeez my sales guy knew zero. Now I'm here. Learned the shift light on the way home. But really??????
I'm having massive difficulties still with the seatbelt chime - 2023 brz, i've tried this method in both accessory and ignition mode (I drive a manual) - do i need to try with the car on instead? Because i've done this multiple times in both modes and NOTHING is working. It's driving me fucking mental.
Is there a walk away autolock for our gr86? Got my car a month ago and i still couldnt figure out if the car has a auto lock when you walk away. 🙃
Instead of 5 numbers can u change to something shorter like 3 for an example?
Hidden features lurk in the engine.
How do you manage lock car without key? When I lock car (manually with door switch) with door opened it will automatically unlock this door and I do not manage any other way to lock kar withou key.
Only way is lock car with key with open trunk, then put keys there and then close the trunk.
How do you activate a newly installed tpms on a 2019 Toyota 86?
@@KevinVo is the programmer specific to Toyota/Subaru? My shop doesn’t seem to know how to do it. I’ve tried to read the manual on how to reset but only the older models have the actual button. Mine I think uses the odo button on the dash
Did you know that If you ever have a radiator leak pull your dip stick you might find enough rtv silicone on it to patch the hole in your radiator. JK JK but seriously every BRZ or GR86 owner check your oil for rtv silicone chunks, many failures have come to light in the past few day and the more examples the better. Let the manufactures know we love these cars and want to love them for a long time. Bring up your concerns to the dealer or manufacturing group and get your car checked asap.
that boot trick seems like it'll probably not register at least one click and then you'll have to start over
Man i wish theres a mod that can replace the keyless entry system with a mechanical key insert
May just be me, but seems risky with finicky electronics. What if you drive out to the parking area of a hiking trail (usually located some distance from any sort of town) then lock both your key fobs in the car and the code refuses to work? Youre looking at VERY expensive remote locksmith visit...assuming you can even find one these days lol. Also simply unplugging the sound thing could be the source of future dash rattles if the plastic connector just dangles. I'd either tape it to something or wrap it in a small piece of foam or bubble wrap.
If you live in the fear that electronics are going to fail, what if the electronics of the car no longer recognize the key and you can't start the car? This feature has been built I to Subarus for awhile now. As for the unplugging, of course you can just zip tie the connector away.
What happens if you push the ignition button only one time?
@@KevinVo after that how do you turn it off?
Also how do you start it if just pushing it once is only accessory mode? I want to have some clue what I am doing then I (eventually) pick mine up
@@martinrps13 you press it 2 more times, once will turn on more features, and the second will be the proper off, and to turn it on if using the manual transmission, you just hold down the clutch while the car is either off completely or partially on
To get rid of seatbelt chime I just buckle in seatbelt and sit on it.....
4:38 Twenty times? Sounds like the process to unlock Luigi or something.
if you're at dealer they can turn off the engine speaker
The vid feels like one of those scammy arcade hacks where you randomly press the side button 20 times to make the machine think its in "maintenance" then you'll automatically win 100% of the time LOL. Good vid nonetheless
You can put you seat belt at you back.
Seatbelt chime trick didn't work for my 2024
You have to do it really fast, he sped it up in the video, it seems like it wasn’t necessary but it kinda is.
Also, there's a noise when u r passing or crossing lanes. How do i turn that off?
@Kevin Vo well every time im crossing lanes to an other, has beeping noise. Also, if ur following a car to close, it comes with the auto stop. Don't like that.
@@noeromero6124 sounds like you got the auto. Them ‘safety features’ are built in. Won’t beep at you if you drive proper, like if you actually indicate to change lanes and don’t tailgate mofos.
My 2000 Subaru Legacy B4 ( RHD) has the pin code feature from factory , but with the driver door handle 😊
Hidden RTV😂
TRUNK BUTTON!! THE SALES PEOPLE KNOW NOTHING!!!!!!!!
A lot of these are native subaru features!
請問,我已經成功開啟後車箱想鎖門就不能鎖上了,
開後還能沒鑰匙🔑能鎖嗎?
Forgot your keys huh? Sounds familiar... (Kevin forgot the keys to the WRX once on a track day)
