Layover diaries | 24 hours solo in Taipei, crispy milk donuts, hiking xiang shan, zhong shan area

Come spend 24 hours alone in Taipei with me! In this trip, I tried the tiktok viral crispy donuts and enjoyed them. I also hiked up xiang shan to see the night view of Taipei, and if you are wondering if it is safe to do it alone at night? The answer is that it is a very well paved (although LOTS of stairs), well lit, and there are lots of other hikers coming and going so you will be safe. It is solo travel approved. Also managed to sneak in a supermarket haul, and lets be real, a supermarket run is mandatory.
The next day, I popped by melange cafe for breakfast in the zhong shan area, and explored all the streets filled with fashion shops and cafes. Unfortunately most of the shops were still closed in the morning, so I will definitely be back again later in the day. Also found this gem of a dessert store in the area with the best bean curd and taro sweet potato balls. If you are in the zhong shan area, you have to give it a try. And that concludes my too short 24 hours in Taipei.
