An day of intensive services on the short narrow gauge 2foot gauge line at Becconsall, Hesketh Bank. In steam were the Dinorwic pairing of Quarry Hunslet Works No. 823 of 1903 Irish Mail and fresh from restoration Bagnall Works No. 1706 of 1906 Sybil, joining Orenstein and Koppel Works No. 6641 of 1913 Montalban. The steam locomotives mainly spent the day on the passenger services, although Irish Mail is seen on a goods working.
The highlight of the day was the frequent runs with the goods sets with the range of Internal Combustion locomotives from manufactures including Simplex / Motor Rail, Hibberd, Ruston and Hornsby & Hudswell Clarke.
