The Summer Diesel Gala, with 5 guest locos, 20066, 26007, 37425, 47830 and 70014, plus locc from the home fleet.

What a brilliant gala it was, great selection of visitors and an in-form home fleet. The loco that really stood out to me was the Hymek, she was much louder than I expected.
Certainly was! Yes I love the Hymeks too.
Gotta love the noise the deltic engine makes.

I was there today with my daughter, brilliant show of diesels, the noise going through the tunnels was just something else!!!
A great day , glad you both enjoyed it. They do tend to put the power on in the tunnels, for better sound😀
Seeing the variety of locos here takes me back to the days when I used to go spotting them and there was so many all over the country. Not so great now!

@philclarke3203 rubbish now isn't it? I drove slammers for a living and in 2005 they faded them.out for 444's and 450's. It killed the passion for me. I did find it a bit sad tho when I read yesterday that the 70's are stored at Toton and have been for 10 years. I actually quite like those for modern locos.

Not just sad but ridiculous that these newish locos are in store.

Great video phil. Miss the days when these classic locomotives used to pass our homes across the chiltern line back in the 70’s & 80s.

Splendid stuff, cheers Phil! As a Geordie, I never got to see the Westerns, Hymeks and Warships in service so I'm especially grateful to the volunteers who keep these beasts alive.

So sad that Ark Royal wasn't saved though, I was going through old pics recently and (re)discovered I'd taken pics of it at Barry Island. No memory of that at all.
I caught the 50 pairing going to Penzance on a pathfinder tour earlier today

Thanks Colin. It was busy. I was on the first 37 heading back to Bury. At Ramsbottom everyone got off the passing train on to it too. Sorry I didn't get to see you again
@@philclarke3203 I have never seen it so busy on a Friday before, glad for the railway. Saturday was very busy as expected as well. My train there was about 20 late due to being diverted via Wakefield otherwise I would of caught the train you were on.
I was there this day. Hydraulics on top form again. 40 was nice too
I love the hydraulics, be great when Western Prince is back 😀

29:25 I believe this is the first east Lancashire visit by a class 70 after it made its debut visit during the Severn valley railway diesel gala
i presume a class70 diesel as the class 70 electric locos are no more.!
I've not heard of any more, so could well be.
