How has it been going for you? My biggest issue is I've been on roller blades since they came out and though I'm getting decent with balance and the wheels in totally different position than blades, my feet and brain want to take off like I'm not in traditional roller skates. I do find w all flow arts, not overthinking always helps

Similarly when someone calls cornrows “boxer braids”. I think it would be great to reference viewers to the creator of the move ❤️

I totally get what you're saying. Try doing it on a slight incline this will make you automatically go forward. And also try to place your front foot facing slightly outward to encourage movement. Hope this helps 🤗💕✨

Okay, I’ve tried this and I can figure out the first part but once I stop crossing my legs I’m not going backwards anymore 😕can’t figure this out for the life of me. Any tips?

(I will check your tutorials in case you already have a video!). Also, where can we find bell bottoms like yours? All the ones I find are too small!

hey! THICK GIRLS CAN GET DOWN TO OKAY? ;) but thats okay love this is a super common problem starting out! Just try to point your front foot more outward on the outer edge and squeeze inner thighs. This should help initiate a backwards movement! Also make sure you're on a flat surface or slight incline and not going against it ;)🤗❣️💕

yess, the trick is confidence and trust in your feet! Just like walking... We dont rlly need to look at our feet while taking a walk/dancing so no need when skating 😉

Its defintely looks like the feet that crossing over to the front is on the outside and so is the back so basically bend lean outside on back foot put your weigh on back foot then swing your front foot weight on outside edge and place it down stabilize and repeat
Hey there i think Moon answered this quite well. I agree that most of the weight is on you standing leg while for front leg is more on the outer edge while crossing over. Hope this helps!

Yes we are going down a slight incline. Most surfaces have them even though it’s barely noticeable. It’s probably the direction in which your feet are going in. If you try to hit it from more of an angle with emphasis on the outer edge as you cross over you will begin to roll backwards 😉 when you place one foot down the other immediately lifts up & also, depending on where you’re practicing, try to hit it heading down a slight incline. Sometimes there’s a small incline on surfaces that make it harder if you’re going up it without knowing

Your tutorials are so easy to follow, and your vibe is so encouraging! It’s snowy where I am and I don’t have much space inside to skate- what moves do you recommend for small spaces? (I will check your tutorials in case you already have a video!). Also, where can we find bell bottoms like yours? All the ones I find are too small!

hey! THICK GIRLS CAN GET DOWN TO OKAY? ;) but thats okay love this is a super common problem starting out! Just try to point your front foot more outward on the outer edge and squeeze inner thighs. This should help initiate a backwards movement! Also make sure you're on a flat surface or slight incline and not going against it ;)🤗❣️💕

How do you speed up? I start by pushing off to skate backwards, but I slow down when I start crossing over. My stopper isn’t touching the ground either. What am I doing wrong?

yess, the trick is confidence and trust in your feet! Just like walking... We dont rlly need to look at our feet while taking a walk/dancing so no need when skating 😉
Ive been trying to get this for months. For some reason i dont move backwards im stuck on the same spot or move forwards. Any idea why this happens
Make sure the heel of the back foot is pointing outwards before you lift it up

Thanks for the tutorial, loved the tips about not looking at your feet an keeping your shoulders straight, they help. Unfortunately I have yet to find a help on how to roll backwards while doing this, for me im either stationary or going forwards awkwardly..
its okay love its totally normal. Just try keeping the front feet at about a 45 degree angle this will help to move you back. I made a youtube short with tips and tricks on this check it out when you have a chance :)

Its defintely looks like the feet that crossing over to the front is on the outside and so is the back so basically bend lean outside on back foot put your weigh on back foot then swing your front foot weight on outside edge and place it down stabilize and repeat
Hey there i think Moon answered this quite well. I agree that most of the weight is on you standing leg while for front leg is more on the outer edge while crossing over. Hope this helps!

Yes we are going down a slight incline. Most surfaces have them even though it’s barely noticeable. It’s probably the direction in which your feet are going in. If you try to hit it from more of an angle with emphasis on the outer edge as you cross over you will begin to roll backwards 😉 when you place one foot down the other immediately lifts up & also, depending on where you’re practicing, try to hit it heading down a slight incline. Sometimes there’s a small incline on surfaces that make it harder if you’re going up it without knowing
I have very long erasers on my rollers and they stop me from doing. Shall I remove them or shall they be shorter?
