Cedrice, you are beautiful inside and out, and boy can you sing and well spoken... I once was told that I didn’t sound Chinese because I didn’t have a Charlie Chan accent! 🙄
Beautiful woman. She should not worry about identity problem. That's in the eye of some of those who look at her with their own norm, which is not hers.
You’re absolutely beautiful and brilliant. You my dear know without a doubt...who you are! Inside and out. Also making me want to shave my head again. Thank you for being who you are!!!
I'm glad The Voice lead me to this. You are so talented! I was in love with your singing, but am totally in awe of your gift of storytelling (poetry and movement).

Very powerful speech! I'm happy to hear such an inspiring message regarding identity for multi-ethnic people. It inspires me to share my story even more. Thank you

At first, I wanted to reclaim my cultural identity but then I came to realize my human life is too short and the unhappiness and stress wasn't worth wasting my time on. I am a human being and American and that's enough for me.
I never really thought of myself as German, even though I was born and raised there and have never lived anywhere else. I thought of myself as half Russian and half Polish, which is where my parents come from. At least that is what I thought. I soon learned that my father isn't actually from Poland, but was born in a part in Germany that turned Polish when he was a little kid. His mom is fully Polish, but moved to Germany, which turned Polish soon after. She only spoke to my father in Polish and he even attended a Polish school. I'm not done yet. His biological father passed away when my dad was really young, so I never knew he is actually half French. And my mom isn't fully Russian either. Her mom is Russian, but her father is from Estonia, which is where she was born and raised, but at that time Estonia wasn't independent from Russia yet, so everyone spoke Russian. That's probably where the confusion happened. So what am I, really? A lot of people keep telling me that I am German because I was born here. While that may be true, my roots aren't in Germany. I have many great aunts and uncles who live here, but they are not directly related to me. If I were to trace back the steps, my German lineage would end with my father, who, even though he was theoretically born in Germany, only got in contact with the German language when he moved here for work. The way I see it, is like this: My dad is half French and half Polish, and my mom is half Russian and half Estonian. I am from everywhere BUT Germany. I gave up trying to figure out where I am from. Depending on the situation, I either give the information on my passport, which says I'm German, or I tell my whole story.
I don’t really feel like she offered any substantive information to help people who are going through an identity crisis or even really broke down what an identity crisis could look like or mean.

Thanks. Another good resource is the mindfulness book "30 Days to Discover Who I Am" by Harper Daniels. It's online.
Omg; I came here because of the voice

It was destiny that she ended up on John legends team. They will be mutually beneficial to one another.
Reading the comments, I love the fact that so many came here from the Voice US ... means Simon Cowell gets nothing from you wtaching this.
