Epic tour: Kistenpass by mountain bike in the Swiss Alps

- I hauled my mountain bike over the Kistenpass, a high and remote mountain pass in the Swiss Alps that is only accessible by foot or on a mountain bike.
After a strenuous uphill with lots of pushing the bike, I was rewarded with a fantastic landscape and awesome single trails down the other side. Most of the descent was steep and technical trails, bringing me to the limit of what I feel comfortable doing on a mountain bike.
As it was early fall, there was already some snow on the pass. This meant that part of the descent after the pass got quite interesting, with some carrying of the bike involved.
This is incredible. Can't imagine how cool it feels to ride there. Exploring new stuff on a bike is always amazing experience
His genuine happiness and those views make this videos awesome
Switzerland is just amazing. I love coming back to this place!
Indeed :)
Great video, thanks for sharing. We hired e bikes in Switzerland a few years ago and I tell everyone about how amazing it was!
Incredible content, you have great skills and were able to cover a ton of ground! Thanks for sharing the adventure, cheers!
Thanks for laughing and talking with yourself with all the magnificence surrounding you. Most u-tubers express no emotion. When I'm out I can't help but to talk with myself to laugh at me and my riding.
The TH-cam algorithm recommended this to me. I watched it, spectacular landscapes, and there's nobody else in the video, just you, the mountains and the sky above, lucky you.
Oh, the hiking bits give you more time to enjoy it all as a slower pace.
Edit: I wrote too soon, saw someone else @ 6:35
Thanks a lot, appreciated! Yeah there were some other people hiking there, but it was not crowded at all...
quite dangerous though to ride there alone. If anything happens, it's far away from any kind of hellp
Nature lover's never get old, excellent ride, thanks for the nice upload, watching from Pakistan.
Just stumbled across your channel. Love the bike, and love the location. Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome!
I love you !!! Hahahaha could absolutely feel the excitement and childlike happiness through the screen with you, only as mtbkers know how stupidly happy something like that can make you!
Super filmli! Das Kistenpass ist auf meiner Todo Liste. Habe das Jahr das Biken in GL mit dem Panixerpass das Jahr endlich entdeckt. Du machst Lust auf mehr in der Region. Danke für den tollen Beitrag.
Vielen Dank! Ja wirklich sehr zu empfehlen!
This was crazy man. Beautiful beautiful scenery.
Nice ride thanks for posting. Love the views and your adventure. Keep it up, like the camera angles and the drone shot was worth it. Also your flow of your video and commentary are done well and are just enough to keep your attention but not to much. Don't change a thing.
Thanks a lot! Taking the drone along means quite a heavy backpack, so I will not take it with me on every tour... But on this one it was definitely worth it :)
AWESOME! Thanks for sharing your amazing trip! Those rocky downhills looked super sketchy even on the Go Pro!
Thanks! Glad it comes across somehow
ur enthusiasm is so pure its awesome lol
Beautiful trail and Impressive Skills!! 👍👍👍
That looks incredible! Keep riding man your doing great!
great job, thats exactly what i love about enduro mtb: riding almost wild trails in beatiful landscapes and making tones of kilometers
Yeah I love these kind of tours. The challenge of the uphill and the "natural" trails make it a real adventure for me :)
@@RobinsBikeAdventures phrase hikebiking which you used was very accurate. Best trails are those where you arrive by hikebiking !
Incredible scenery. Delightful personality. Thank you so much for taking the challenge for us. Cheers, dd
You are welcome!
I absolutely love watching ur videos the quality is incredible for such a small channel!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the videos :)
This was actually amazing. I'd love to go here someday. Lucky you!
Respect! Most people would already be very content with getting to the Muttsee-hutte from Brigels hiking!
Awesome view awesome riding nice video sir
Amazing! You're a brave man!
nice vid dude, you have real courage to go on such an adventure all by yourself! wow
Thanks a lot! I carry a cell phone for emergencies (never had to use it thank god *knocking on wood*)
@@RobinsBikeAdventures I do too. Also when hiking and whilst making snowboot tours. But when you think about it, it maybe not enough due to no cellular conection. What you could do is to email your planned route to a close person and call then when you savely returned. When not than you can be searched for along your route at least the next day ... I always carry more water than I need, and bought a survival bag to keep me dry and more warm. I consider to take some tourniquette with me. All other first aid is not essential for survival in my opinion.
12:00 can't possibly imagine how happy you must've felt. I love mountain biking, love visiting Switzerland but joining these two has not happened yet. I'd poop myself on that track and die haha
Yeah that was a pretty awesome moment!
beautiful and terrifying at the same time, amazing
Absolutely stunning landscape mate!! Awesome video 🙌🙌
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed the video!
@@RobinsBikeAdventures hard to not loved it tbh :)
Amazing trails and beautiful place. Done mate
Wow, awesome! The water looks like from some sort of CGI
Yeah, awesome color :)
View is most gorgeous, never try this hard trail!!! wow
Wow man, I just subscribed, awesome mountain biking, awesome video. Love from Pakistan
This looks awesome
Breathtaking!
Be carefull man, these are steep slopes and must take Findmespot beacon or any other beacon through which you can atleast call for rescue. I am watching your other videos as well. Keep it going, awesome stuff man
The only way to get help there is a satelite phone/beacon. Most time or the descend there is no cellular reception!
Epic, really enjoyed that 👍
wanna have these experiences…😩❤️lots of love from India❤️
dude just watching your videos i thought you have at least 100k subs but just incredible content mannn. Also view and mountains are amazing. Keep it up my friend. BTW greetings from Turkey :)
Thanks a lot, you are not the first to say so :). Greetings from Switzerland!
Wow what a view!
Những ca sĩ khác cho mình cảm giác thư giãn khi nghe! Còn ĐP luôn cho mình bị cuốn theo tinh thần bài hát.
Great video keep it up! Pretty sure subscription will explode
Epic trails nice riding.
Thanks a lot! Epic trails indeed :)
Incredible stuff man! Absolutely loved it, maybe I'll be the second to do it :) - Cheers form the US
Thanks! I am by no means the first that does this tour :P
Fantastic video man 😎
Thanks a lot!
This is just amazing!
Thanks a lot! This was an amazing tour, and I am glad that it comes across in the video!
مغامرة جميلة احسنت استمرار يابطل 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome dude
Nice landscapes, respect for your biking technique, A bit to technical ( switchbacks) for me to enjoy such a tour myself, especially while it certanily will have been much steeper as it look through the gopro.
Yeah, the landscape is absolutely fantastic! If you keep riding you will keep improving. I do not consider myself a really good rider ;)
But I agree, the steepness doesn't quite come across in the video....
this video is great.
Wow..Semma bro
Saya suka video anda sungguh perjalanan yang menegangkan
end part looks so scary =D
For me, the scariest part was the one with the snow :)
How are you doing this i would have almost died 🤨😨 ur incredible
His balls are more courageous than my entire life decisions
Youre luckiest guy on earth 😊
well, just a dream for us
This is the school roads my father told me about 🧐
Fantastisch!

Love & Respect to YOU GUYS from PAKISTAN . Come & Visit the Challenging Mountains of PAKISTAN
HOW DO U NOT HAVE MORE VEIWS AND SUBS THIS IS INSANE. also where u from? and amazing content too!
Thanks a lot! I am from Switzerland
Supremo!!!!
Sweet!!!
Ich liebe Gebirge und Fahrrad aber will nicht von Faelsen fallen!
I really love mountains and bikes but I fear just literally riding over a cliff! X_X
this is really what a mountain bike is for...
This said, there were risky moments, to say the least
I love doing tours like this!
Wowww brother
Imagine going there on city bike :D
Yeah that does not sound like a good idea :D
great tour, can you share the path please? that would be apriciated
I don't have a gpx track but you can find tour descriptions for the "Kistenpass" online...
do you ride ebike or muscular ?¿? amazing video my friend
@@jaumemasias9490 Thanks, I ride a "muscular" bike :)
WOW! Brilliant ride, cool views!
Could you kindly tell us which tire you use and what are the width and size parameters, please?
Hmm I'm not 100% sure what I used in this video because I do not always use the same tires. My best guess:
Front: Maxxis Assegai 2.5 MaxxTerra Exo+
Back: Michelin Wild Enduro Rear 2.4
nice trip, come to caucasus, georgia.
I would love to, there are so many great places to ride worldwide!
Hi. Nice trip! What bike do you use for such trips/mountains? Thanks
I am riding a RAAW Madonna
Robin, when exactly was this? Early September?
Love the bike design th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
crazy
Hi ! Absolutely wonderful :). Could you provide us the gpx trace ?
Thanks! I don't, but you can easily find descriptions of this tour online...
вававава, очень красиво
great video. do it again somewhere else
I will... Waiting for the snow to melt :P
great video - just curious, whats your avarage speed going downhill on this trail?
I have no idea. It varies widely, depending on the technical difficulty. But overall I think rather slow, because there was a lot of difficult stuff in there...
do you by any chance have a strava link or gpx to the route?
Nice tour! do you have the gpx data?
I don't but you can find tour descriptions for the "Kistenpass" online...
No issues with assembly for me th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
Which kits you used for making this video??
You mean camera? I used a Gopro9 and a DJI Mini 2
@@RobinsBikeAdventures I wanted to know about your camera holders/mounts.
By the way, thanks for reply.
1:40 I think the water texture is glitched
Yeah it does look somewhat unreal, doesn't it :D
Dear brother, I want to buy a bicycle like this .. I am speaking from Bangladesh
Прикольный немец )
OK. So no Muttsee for me. That is way too sketchy for me that first part from the Kistenpass hutte!
how did you get up there?
Mostly by pushing my bike up the trail....
Just a nice trail, but my mom would kill me if I went here...
Why though?
@@RobinsBikeAdventures Well, she'd start off by saying I could ride by accident on this trail and so on, LoL...
My bad, instead of ride I meant died...
🤣
Are electric bikes allowed?
AFAIK they are the same as normal bikes from a legal point of view. I would however not recommend doing this tour with an electric bike, as it involves quite some pushing and carrying of the bike...
Its Robbaz, king of SWEEDEN!
Ist das E bike?
No, I would not want to haul an E-Bike up there...
2:23 Sketchy to walk? Dude its sketchy to watch
Glad it comes across so well :)
If you want to buy such a bicycle, you can bring it to Bangladesh
NEXT: Drone footage from a drone following the drone filming the cyclist!
My backpack is already heavy enough with just one drone :P
what do youu call that 3D?
You mean the Google Earth scene in the intro?
@@RobinsBikeAdventures yea the google earth i forgot about that
Thxs i Received Fear of Heights-
Glad the steepness comes across so well :)
