    I've been watching you for a week now. I've never fished from a kayak but it's something I'm getting interested in doing and you're the one that inspired me. I'm going on a year clean from opiates and need new hobbies to keep me busy. Idle hands are dangerous for me. Love the content and Australia is the only place I'd like to visit. Beautiful water and people out there. 👌🙌

    So many good tips here I went back and watched this video again. I really like the fishing videos because of the angle of the shots you get and the quality of the videos and editing. But I also really like videos about how to set up, rig, and repair your fishing gear like your kayak, rods, and reels.

    WOW!!! I've got 13 good and great yaks, kevlar, carbon you name it but THIS!!!! A livewell? rod holder/fish holder?!?! I'm unloading a few yaks in the spring and getting me one of these!!!! Just ordered a Wavewalk S4 microskiff which can handle a 10+HP outboard (20 if you're insane).. That's how I found your videos by looking up other microskiff boats! Liked, subbed and still checking out that stealth powerfisher! but alas, the S4 won me over. Keep cool and motor on!!Be catching you around and maybe even with my microskiff next season

    Now that is one super cool set up you have there. I'm slowly gearing up to flush mount my fish finder onto my 525. Your channel and videos are spot on and love the way you have set this one up. Cracking videos dude, slightly jealous of the fish you have over there😂.

I'm building a Chesapeake 17 foot light kayak and I've got the hull finished and i'm pleased to have seen this great kayak, i'm going to build the same features into mine. Great kayak and great clip, thanks for the upload, it's made a huge difference to how I'm finishing mine. Cheers mate

    I really love your boat! I’m paddling a Viking Profish Reload. It’s great to fish out of. The transducer and plotter mount on my tackle-pod (removable) between my knees. I added a 1.4 sq meter Falcon sail rig on it. It’s similar, yet very different from your kayak. Great for fishing/camping trips like you do. Great video’s...I’ve become a subscriber.

      Not fat Americans lol. They like their 38 inch wide Hobie Pro Anglers

    • @cobbs
      @cobbs 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@TridentDriver I'm an American, and... you're right. Every year, kayak companies keep pushing out fatter, heavier, slower, plastic kayaks, and people keep buying them up. Americans are convinced the Pro Angler is a great offshore boat. They must be, bc I see so many of them beyond the breakers. A true offshore boat takes on surf, wind, and breaking swells fluidly, and they move fast, like 5-6mph cruising speed fast, and the Pro Angler, as well as many other kayaks I see offshore, definitely do not. Man, I wish there was a company like Stealth or Kaskazi here in the states.

    • @TridentDriver
      @TridentDriver 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cobbs I'm an American too and Jackson has took quit making the Kraken 15 and Wilderness Systems has quit making the Thresher 155 because people weren't buying them. Even those boats are wider and shorter than these Stealth kayaks. But the thing is, is that these Stealth kayaks are absurdly expensive and only good at 1 thing which is offshore. You aren't going to anchor up in a river and catfish off of one or Sheepshead fish by a bridge with one or heaven forbid take it in a marsh with Oyster rock.

    • @mungbean84
      @mungbean84 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TridentDriver I river fish and bass fish from my stealth regularly. Sure you can't shoot the rapids on it, but I would happily take it on any river (without crocs). Stealths are similar money to a hobie here and so much easier to live with all round. Definitely not just good for one thing. Just really good at one thing and pretty good at everything else too.

    so dope man, been wanting to paint my yak front flouro green because of you. pretty brave drilling into the bottom of a carbon fiber hull, let alone any yak hull, so jic i recommend the seattle sports breakaway bilge, a hand pump you can disassemble into 10 parts for periodical cleaning, has an alu shaft too. be safe, epic fun ahead, can't wait to see your yak in action!

    Brilliant! I love it! I'll be interested to see how the seat works out. Is it even lower than the 525? After seeing your pictures & struggling to get an image through the hull from my new Garmin Striker I mounted my transducer outside under the hatch so much further forward than yours. Reckon your siting is better, but you've given me ideas on what to do if it doesn't work. Can't wait to see it out fishing.

    You should make your fish tape, you have used in some of your videos, make it a sticker and put it in the fish hold...you through the fish there, it slids forward to the front then you can read the length at the tail to determine if it is a legal fish or not.

Hopefully you have it sussed. I’d love to bring the boat up one weekend and head out the river there. All the best rod.

    • @rokkitkit
      @rokkitkit  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Guys, yea I can wedge the hatch opened and also just flip it right over and rest it on the head unit it needed. I actually made some adjustments to deal with it a bit better and for the camera to be out of the way that I talk about in the newest vid 👍

  • @AnimalYakTV
    @AnimalYakTV 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    One suggestion Rod, I would have cut the sounder cable to reduce the size of the hole, it worked for you, but for next time, that's what I would do... and it helps you to cut the sounder cable to length as well and not have another 2kg of copper excess... I have rejoined the sounder cable successfully, but you need to know what you're doing, especially with the screening shields on each pair of cables - to make sure you have the screen down pat, also to solder and use glue based heat shrink to isolate each solder joint and the cable together... then to use self amalgamating tape to seal the entire cable join together...

My Old Fish finder Lowrance Elite 3 X that was factory installed back in SA bombed out. Want to install a new Downscan Fishfinder. Was wondering, after the mod you did by drilling the outside hull, have you had any water leakage? Would you recommend this type of installation Thinking of Hook2 5 or should I rather go with a Hook2 5X whose transducer installation can be done in hull? Will appreciate your feedback. Cheers

    Awsome kayak! Is it possible to mount the tranducer inside the kayak? I think the sonar would travel through single skin no problem?

      Side scan needs to be mounted in the water unfortunately. If you're not going side scan or too worried about temp readings then internal mount work a treat.

    Hey Rod , you mention the new install of your transducer creates a lot less drag. I wondered if you knew the speed difference? I have an install similar to your old one where the transducer is hung over the side of my Profisha525. I reckon having the transducer hanging over the side is costing me about 0.6-0.75 kph on my cruising speed - or resulting in me having to push a lot harder to maintain the same cruising speed without a transducer. Its a big plunge for someone to cut a hole in an expensive ski if the gains aren't very big. Appreciate a response, cheers

      I would say I found the same with the bracket hanging over the side. I notice less drag with the new install if any at all, but yes it can be a daunting task to make that drill hole. 👍
