Awesome. Even included the data plan part. My phone shattered and I can barely see the screen. Was looking for too long on what to press. Every video skipped over the gps plan option. Thank you for including it. And I typed my password in correctly without even seeing the keyboard. Hallelujah.
So after doing that, do you need to do the erase all content on the watch next or before at all? I did that part first then went through your process and it said it may not have unpaired correctly and instructed me to go to the Watch to erase all content, but I already did that.
I sold my watch to a friend and had to sign in to allow her to activate it but it’s still on my iCloud so how do I remove it? If I remove it will it lock her out?
Hard to say for sure cause sometimes when you sign in to allow activation what it’s really doing is verifying and signing you out. But since it still appears on your iCloud that seems odd. But could just be a glitch. If you can I would have her go into the setting app on the watch and they usually show the iCloud user right up top. As long as that shows her and not you removing it from your iCloud shouldn’t effect it at all.
if I unpaired it and went to "general" and it still showed up on my Apple ID and hit "remove" and it no longer shows up on my icloud does that meant It is fully wiped now??
So old series 6 to a 7 (had every generation) last time I upgraded from the 5 to the 6 I lost all my rings and workout tracking (over a years worth) so how do I make sure the same doesn’t happen again, I will add that in the health app it showed 2 Apple watches one said ‘No longer paired’ and from there it was a haze as when I removed the one that was no longer paired that was when I lost all my achievements and awards..any ideas before I pair my series 7 ?
On your phone. Go to settings and tap you avatar on the top. Then tap iCloud, under apps upswing iCloud tap Show all. Make sure both Health and Fitness are being synced to iCloud. This should allow it to better save your achievements and awards. Usually you’d only lose those when getting a new phone. Not sure why unpairing a watch would cause that.
@@TheAppleBias i think you maybe right, sorry my bad, so I have my new 7, do I unpair the 6 first and then remove it from iCloud and then sent the 7 up from the backup, ? Also any idea about the health app showing 2 devices, ?
Health app keeps records of all your watches. Seriously mine has a lot of like 30 or more cause of all the testing and repairing I’ve done with them over the years. When I setup a watch I honestly like setting it up a new not from a backup. I do the same with my phones. Other wise yes I would impair the old first just to make sure it makes one more backup before the new one. Also if you do decide to go without restoring from a backup I have a video on my instagram account that shows you how to share your watch faces you can use that feature to back them up if you have a few setup the way you like it.
If I remove cellular plan am I removing that functionality for the person who’s buying my old watch? I’m buying a new watch and want to keep my cellular plan but also want my old watch to have that for the new owner. Doesn’t make sense why you’d keep or remove.
The cellular feature on the watch is an additional monthly charge through your cellular provider. When you remove it you’re just making it so you can more easily transfer it to your new watch. If the new owner wants to add cellular to your old watch they still can they would just have to add their own plan to it.
Thank you man , I sold my series 9 on a marketplace . Customer returned it cause it was locked to owner when he setuped . I was kinda annoyed with this now I can finally unpair my Apple Watch . Thank you again . Sending buckets of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
is it necessary to have watch near to phone to unpair it from apple watch app? cause my apple watch app is not showing that watch there but watch is still paired . How do i fix it?
Yeah it is. So the watch was removed from the phone but it’s probably still tied to your iCloud account. If you are planning to sell it you’ll need to go into the settings on your phone tap your name at the top and then you can scroll down and see a full list of devices on your iCloud. It should show up in that list tap it and at the bottom of that screen is a remove from account button. If the watch is connected to WiFi it should reset when that is done. If not then on the watch you can go into settings -> general and reset and erase the device there.
@@TheAppleBias So..The apple watch was unpair from iPhone, without reset the watch before, just unpair from the iPhone, that seems the credit card was removed from watch, right?
If it still shows up I. Your account than that’s means for the new owner it will probably be iCloud locked and they won’t be able to pair it with their phone.
I am giving my daughter my old Apple Watch. I unpaired it from my phone. Now the watch is asking me if I want to reset to factory defaults. Do I need to do that?? Thanks!
If the watch is still functional show time and watch-faces. Then the unpairing didn’t go correctly. It should be showing a screen about pairing the watch. You probably want to reset to factory and then go into the find my app and make sure the watch isn’t showing up there.
Question. I sold my series 5 and reset it. The person who bought it off me said they need my apple ID information. Did I do something wrong? How do i fix it?
Check out this video and go to the part where I am on safari with iCloud .com. It has the steps you’ll need to remove it from iCloud. th-cam.com/video/HEq0f1OXcxo/w-d-xo.html
@@TheAppleBias so on my ultra im unpairing and it says keep celullar or remove. Of i remove it than when i set up the s8 do i have to purchase cellular again?
Yeah hit remove and then you can just add it to the series 8 no need to buy again. You can actually remove and add it back and forth without unpairing although that would be a bit of a pain. What made you decide for the series 8 over the ultra.
I would reboot both the phone and watch and make sure your around good WiFi and try again. If that doesn’t work you may have to make a trip to an Apple Store. Or reach out to their online support.
@TheAppleBias What can be viewed on watch when paired phone is not with watch. Shop wants me to remove security pin and send it to them so they can check watch after replacing glass. I just unpaired it.
Yeah anything saved locally on the watch depending the apps you use would be available. Unpairing it was the smarter choice. Cause otherwise they’d have access to all your contacts. Possible emails. Text all that data.
What if you unpaired the watch the wrong way (because you didn’t see this video until after you sold it), and the purchaser can’t get into it? I know the purchaser, and he contacted me saying he can’t get into it. This is why I’m on your video now, lol. Sorry, was an Android user for 20 years, just got into Apple.
No worries. Check out my iPhone video. And fast forward probably half way or more until you get to the iCloud part. In there you will want to look for the watch and remove it as I show to do for the iPhone. That should get it to where he can pair the watch with his phone. Let me know if you have any questions. th-cam.com/video/HEq0f1OXcxo/w-d-xo.html
Do you have any iPhone at all? If you switched to android without fully unpairing the watch your best bet is to go to iCloud.com and trying to remove the watch from find my section.
@@TheAppleBias bro I had so many issues with the bloody watch . Selling it online I mean . 1st time I forgot to remove it from my iCloud and then the person came back obviously. I will never buy another Apple Watch. I no longer have the phone I paired it to, and now there seems to be no way to pair it to my new phone. I HATE how difficult Apple products are to use, they make it so much more difficult than it needs to be.
