- In this video I enjoy a campfire and camp cook out with Rich, the new owner of my old Chevy van. Then I head to a new camp in the Superstition mountain area of Arizona. I am greeted with a good rain. I continue to do some building in my box van camper. Then I make and cook a pizza on my fold up charcoal grill.
Thank you for being here.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

Ah the life I’m working for. Love how you come & go as you please staying at better spots longer when possible. Brian you’re an inspiration to so many I thank you for doing all you do.
You can do it! I planned ahead on my retirement to do this. I’m retired now an love camping not having any particular schedule, wether a few weeks, a month or more, then I return to my house for awhile and out I go again. You won’t regret it.
@@carmenmartinez2882 Good for you! My wife and I have the same plan. I need to work until 2025 though before we can go all in. We will be there.
@@stahpit1971 bet you’re counting the days lol. Congratulations ahead of time!
My hat is off to you Brian for leaving your camp site cleaner than it was when you arrived. A good steward of the land. Unfortunately many are not so considerate. Thank you.
Well, the folks abandoned that travel-trailer with trash inside.
So, there is that...
I really like how you include footage from the road and not just the end destination. I always enjoying hearing "And away we go!"
That Longhorn was awesome!!! I loved campsite #2 so much. I love the peacefulness. Those cabinet doors are fabulous. So was the pizza.
The privacy of the second campsite must be wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
There is nothing like the smell of the desert after a rain storm...its amazing

It's worth repeating! The cadence of your storytelling is quite agreeable in the way that I feel and view things.

Thank you for the 360° narration.
This gentle spin/walk-through helps me understand the scene.
Thank you for leaving your campsites cleaner than you found them! If everyone did that the earth would be a much nicer place.
Glad you mentioned the wonderful smell in the desert after a rain !!
Brian that sunset was spectacular. I really enjoy your calm videos. With all the things going on in the world your channel helps me appreciate the things that really matter. Stay safe and take care.
Good morning!
Great video pizza looked very yummy as well as the sausage and peppers big hugs to Rich and Brian thank you for sharing
Nice video; the desert is so beautiful in the spring; watch for 🐍
That's a terrible shame someone would leave a junk trailer there. Things like that will cause the free area's to close sadly. Pizza looks yummy.. The sausage and peppers looked really good too. Cabinet doors came out nice unique look. Enjoy, Relax, Stay Safe out there.
Your living the nomad dream, beautiful campsites.😀
Nice Pizza & beautiful weather 🌞😍😁👍
Great episode--cooking, building, and bull-dodging. Woot!
Thank you for sharing your world with us 🙏🏼 blessings always ✨
Awesome as always
A little char on the pizza crust makes it just right. I loved the sunset shots!
LOVE the doors! Great to see you doing well.👍😎🇨🇦🌞🍕👌
Those new doors look Sooo good you may have to burn everything LOL. If you put coals on top of the pan you can crisp the top of the pizza too. Great video, safe travels,
Wow, what a lovely peaceful spot you found.
We know you can do it 👍😍💪
Beautiful sun set 👍 PIZZA WITH BRIAN 🙏👍
✌️☮️
HEY! Hello Brian. Well that sucks that somebody abandoned a trashed camper out on the BLM land. Crap like that is what gets the land shut down and ruins it for everyone. That was a beautiful area and the sunset was amazing. I do not think that your cabinet doors were crude at all. You did a real good job making and, burning and staining them! Safe travels and of course thumbs UP !! 👍
That pizza crust was not burnt. It was perfect!
I really like the look of how you burned the doors.
My MAN !! I was just saying out loud burn those doors! It should look great!
Ahh Brian, I love your adventures. Cooking looks good. Wonderful job with the cabinet doors. The burned look is great. You have quite a nice tiny home. I’m envious. I live vicariously through you. Thank you so much for your videos. Keep on trucking. Take care love, take care and stay safe and beware of false prophets 💋🕊🍺👍🌞🇺🇸😇❤️🙏🌹
nice idea. with torch. and plywood
I love what you did with those doors. Beautiful
The Arizona Sunset 🌇 is Spectacular love the new cabinets doors great look woodcarving would look great also?🍕✌️🌵
PRO TIP: next time doing pizza on the grill, get your cast iron pan ripping hot before putting your pizza on the grill. Then when you cover the pizza, it will be like having a pizza oven. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks Brian...enjoyed the trip....camping, cooking and carpentry! 👍😁
Oh the sunsets! Love the light. I laughed when you said you wouldn't have neighbors at the second campsite and then the big old cow comes ambling through. LOL. Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it.
Love that pizza on the grill idea! At first I thought about suggesting pre baking the crust, but it obviously got plenty crispy. I'll just echo the appreciation for your videos, the content, the way you relay your experiences and van life. Thanks for another great video!
Eating breakfast, watching AdventureVanMan, going on a 3 hour motorcycle ride on a warm Spring day. Life doesn't get better than that.
Doors look great.
Beautiful sunsets and pizza on the grill 👍😁 Those doors came out good too ! ✌️
I LOVE your videos!!! As always, thank you for sharing. 😊

I like the vehicle placement in this scene.
You tie them into the tasting [applause].
Love to see people enjoying our Arizona desert, why I moved here 42 years ago. Like watching your adventures and the work you do on the camper. You give me ideas for the build out of my utility trailer conversion. After seeing you using your grill I got a couple for my daughter and I, she follows you too. We’ll have to try the pizza idea😋👍
Secluded camp just perfect👍 . Nice job on those doors, making a silk purse out of a sows ear😁.
Love those pink fluffy clouds. The bull was a surprise (to me). He was HUGE. Wonder if he had an owner. Lovely cabinet doors.
For the microwave side, Cut two doors like you just did to fit. The goal is to attach both doors together from the back side. Blind hinge the bottom, add rope for side support, add nobs, and you have cab doors that look the same, but the the microwave cab pulls down. It also serves as a work surface. U can even add the side hinges for a great matched look. Peace.
the cabinet doors look great! i like the 'shou sugi ban' and the way the grain flows across from one door to the other. simple & beautiful!
My little camper is made from an old snowmobile trailer. All my framing n tables and fold down benches burned the same way, galvanized tin roof and sides with wood. You'll like it a long time! Beautiful camp spot!
Nice video. You find the nicest places. Good you got to hang with your friend. He's liking that van. 👍 Love the cacti, and beautiful sunset. 🙂👍
I had good luck starting the dough on my little charcoal grill first, then added ingredients to finish up. When I went all in at first, the dough ended up too wet.
Tastes amazing though when you get the balance just right!
Love what you did with those doors, the burning was a nice touch. That second spot you chose to camp was so much nicer, very peaceful. Take care✌
Wow those doors are beautiful! Love that burnt wood look, nice job! Those desert sunsets never get old! 🙏🏼💖
I wish I would’ve got this earlier you guys are right in my backyard and for all of the 4 x 4 Cruzan good people in Arizona I do apologize for the trash and garbage there’s just people out there that do not care and they’re the ones getting our good spot shut down we are not happy about it but thank you and hope to see you next go round
Those doors are beautiful!
Very nice👌 The desert there is beautiful. I'm impressed with the amount of tools that you have to do your projects.👍✌
I remember one day I turned on my TV and put on TH-cam and I saw some of your vanlife videos at that time you were in a chevy van G20, since I saw those vans I fell in love with them and with this life of vanlife but only on weekends, now that I have family that depend on me, now I have a 93 chevy van G20 and I spend more time with it than with my wife, I love the feeling of freedom that it gives me when I travel in it. I changed my life thanks to a video of yours that I saw on TH-cam. greetings from houston
i liked the addition of the doors , great idea . . the pizza was great!!
I have learned to get something to eat before watching you videos good job keep them coming.
Good morning from Godley Texas, another great spot in Arizona. Stay safe and happy travels 😎
This was a beautiful video!! The life you live!!! TFS!!👍🏻🐶🐶💕🙏🏻
Wish you had added the pizza dough recipe. Love the desert views too.
Thank you for sharing all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. They're amazing.
Great productive video! Great job on those new doors!
Love your videos Brian!
Ahhh another cool video. Beautiful scenery, pizza on the grill, and a DIY project. Very nice!
Great editing , yummy looking food , nature n a van 👍🏽👍🏽 perfect way of living life fully!!
U definitely know how to live my friend .
Smart updates n they look really good 👍🏽
Thanks so much for sharing .💫
Magnets, wish I invented them,
Mr. Magnet is Magnetic!
Away we go, thanks for letting us see
What awesome sunset pictures.
Oooooh. Those pink clouds. Lovely.
Dang that pizza looks good man you are so talented love the doors great ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Remind me of the beautiful sunsets that we see in Southern California in the summertime that's one thing I do miss I moved out of state some years ago but I still miss the California sunsets beautiful beautiful
Coooool doors! Really spruces up the joint! ❤️
🤣
Brian, thanks for another "easy does it" episode...beautiful scenery, some weather, great acoustic guitar music, good homemade food, and the right attitude. Loved the repurposed plywood doors and how good you made them look. Thank you for sharing all that!
Brian. Thank you for this wonderful video. Rich seems like a nice person and a good friend. The long horn bull was an amazing creature, majestic and self confident. Best observed at a distance. Beautiful location. Good job on the doors. Pizza looked yummy. Safe travels. ☮️ Peace.
The doors turned out amazing. Also love how the pizza turned out also. The box van surely has been good for you. I fix my coffee the way you used to fix it. I haven't wasted coffee since. The store bought filters I find are less expensive. With the sunset that area looks awesome. I really enjoyed this. Thanks Brian.
Really good thank you...love those doors...very clever.👀
Those sunsets wow so beautiful. The cabinets look great too especially with the burn effect, nice job 👍
Great video, love those remote camp sites, pizza was a great lookin idea, may have to try that at camp some time. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 🚐
Those doors look great, you have a craftsman's attention to detail that shows through--like the rounded-over corners--even if the wood was not the best. Making the scenery inside the van as beautiful as what's on the outside. 👍
That was a good trick with the torch. I'm sort of a crude simplistic guy myself and I had to stay single to be able to live that way. Your pizza wasn't burned too bad on the bottom. It had the same torch effect as your cabinet doors. 😁👍
Wow, I love that Sonoran Desert scenery! Great sunset shot..
The doors make a nice sound when closing
We all know what Rich is up to!!! Stay another week enjoying the neighbours "company". Lucky old dog
You live a peaceful life brother. May the Lord bless you always.
I love that burnt wood look and then polyurethane over it. I used to do decoupage 30 years ago and used to burn the edges to make it look more rustic and then polyurethane over it and it looked really cool. I would love to do that to my coffee table and end tables and see what they look like but boy would that be some work LOL. Great video as always. God bless ‼️💯💞👍
That bull dog canyon is a great place to camp.
Beautiful campsite ,with amazing views. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Door's look good Brian
That's a drag that guy that left that trashed out trailer... To bad people do stuff like that for someone else to deal with.
Take care man
Great video Brian
Wow. Totally awesome pictures
It was nice to spend Sunday morning with you Brian!
So much LIFE & COLOR in the desert 🌵
Those doors came out amazing.
Heres a little hint about making pizza on the grill. Throw a few hot coals on top of the cast iron. That will give you more heat from the top which will help with the melting of the cheese and also help with the bottom getting over cooked. It will cook more evenly that way.
Pizza not only looked good, sounded delicious! Doors look great , nice job as always ☮️
How neat to camp with your old vans new owner. It's a shame that picking up the trash that others have left is a thing but it is much appreciated.
Love the doors. I'd suggest when you're in a carving mode, you create custom cabinet pulls.
This seems like the only real solution to cooking in van life. No risk of air pollution in the car. Actually will purify the air in the car. And a portable charcoal grill and iron frying pan easily fit in a trunk. It's perfect.
Combine it with a ice cooler that holds temp for 4 - 7 days and you can cook and consume anything, include milk and eggs and raw meats.
Burnt? That pizza looks perfect. You haven't seen New Haven style pizza lol.
