The long silence on Fogbeasts followed by "...Yeah.......... yeah." LMAO, I'm glad you like it. It's my 2nd favorite song from the first game, if it wasn't already requested a bunch I absolutely would've done it myself.
Edit: Jesse interrupting himself mid-sentence to say "Damn this part is the shit" LMAO
Lmao i read that comment seconds before he said that 😂
Can't believe how correct he technically was at 18:24
Youre the ost guy wtf 😂
Just finished watching your full playthrough on the vods channel. It's been a great ride thanks so much for all the xenoblade content!
Thank you!
fogbeast battle is a hell of a ride
The comment talking about the flute was most likely referring to xenoblade 3
Flutes are indeed very thematic and important... for Xenoblade 3 Only. However, this is the theme of the main area of the expansion story of 1 for its remake/remaster, so since this is what arrived last before Xenoblade 3, and it does tease its themes on many levels... yeah, the flute is most certainly a nod to how relevant it'll be in the next game.
If you (or anyone else) want a clarification of what released when (plus some trivia):
1998: XenoGears releases, it's a long story, but basically that's where the whole xenoseries comes from. It's still owned by Square Enix to this day.
1999: Takahashi, the man behind the series, leaves Square because he doesn't agree with them, and founds his own studio, Monolith Soft, to work with what is today Bandai Namco.
2002-2006: XenoSaga Episodes I, II, and III, plus a few spinoffs that you shouldn't worry about too much. they were not profitable enough and there were production issues, so the series stopped and Nintendo buys Monolith Soft some time later. XenoSaga is its own IP (or is it? 📻👀)
Now for Xenoblade itself:
2010: first introduced as "Monado: Beginning of the World", Xenoblade (1) for the Wii releases in Japan (also, the "Chronicles" is only a thing in the west, in Japan it's just "Xenoblade")
2011: it releases in Europe, Nintendo of Europe manages the dub, and that's why they all have british accents
2012: Nintendo of America finally released Xenoblade on the Wii
2015: Xenoblade 3D releases, it's a 3DS port of the Wii version, done by another studio
2015 still: Xenoblade X (pronounced "Cross") Releases as a Wii U exclusive (and sadly still is to this day, it's the only xenoblade story you can't experience on Switch), it's way different in style, and its story isn't connected at all to the other games (at least theoretically for now). It releases in Japan first, then in the west, but still in 2015
2017: Xenoblade 2 Releases on the Switch. First simultaneous Worldwide release. It was done by a smaller team of about 40 people plus some external freelance workers.
2018: Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country releases, it's the last wave of 2's expansion pass, and adds a whole story with a slightly different Gameplay. This prequel can be played at any time independently from the main game, to the point where it also got its own standalone physical release. It was supposed to be taking place during the main game, but was expanded into its own game.
2020: Xenoblade Definitive Edition releases, it's a remaster of Xenoblade 1, close to a whole remake, and it also features an additional epilogue called Future Connected that """teases""" the future of the series in roundabout ways. This epilogue has very similar gameplay to the main series, and is the smallest "expansion story". It takes place in a location that was unused in the original wii game, but was fleshed out for the occasion.
2022: Xenoblade 3 releases worldwide. it's its own story, but a sequel to both xenoblade 1 and 2 and you gain a lot by knowing of 1 and 2's story and gampleay, even. I'd even argue that you also gain by knowing about Gears and Saga's stories, as 3 is like the culmination of Takahashi's work in the sense that it's a love letter to the meta series as a whole.
2023: Xenoblade 3's DLC's final wave releases, adding Future Redeemed, which is its own story with some gameplay tweaks, but it's also the final big conclusion to this Xenoblade 1-3 arc, and teases a lot of stuff for the future of the series. probably... Also, it's GOTY 2023, you should play xenoblade.
This is helpful to make the connection between Future Connected's music and xenoblade 3's flute usage. The composers were probably in the xenoblade 3 mindset when they made the music for Future Connected
Very insightful read but he did specify not to confirm anything when he listed out what games he knew of. Not that there's anything wrong with it knowing ahead of time imo, it's just that's what he seemed to want.
@@embrcelica that's why I took the precaution of warning what I'll list beforehand, so anyone can read, but knows what to expect before gettin any info
You should add that it was only thanks to operation Rainfall, a fan driven project to raise awareness and pressure NoA to release 3 highly-aniticpated/fan-favorite/sought after JRPGs that were not big on the market for that generation.
"IS Future Connected to 1 as Torna to 2?"
Well yes, but actually no. Both are the additional stories, but they don't serve a simmilar purpose.
I’m Chima! You pronounced it right the first time lol
I have literally waited so so so long for the Fogbeast reaction to happen, I’m glad it exceeded your expectations 😂
Fogbeasts goes all out, and it was great to hear it again recently…..😊
So true it was amazing and I am glad it got to have an another chance.
fogbeast battle so good they bring it back, is a sick af song
Considering that now you saw the intro, it's so funny to me how you said "oh I thought the Bionis would be this big thing you fight wars in" and then immediately saw characters fighting a war on it in that intro lol
Fogbeasts is the best part of Future Connected like holy heck, hearing that theme kick in the first time was WOW
hes blown away by torna and future connected, but wait until he hears future redeemed
imagine if someone tells him to listen to all of the alpha themes, that would be so sick!
He’ll shit his pants hearing Cent-Omnia Region, Black Mountains, and the final boss themes
@@rhettmitchell true lol
Oh man you will love the gormott theme from Torna the golden country.
Fogbeast Battle is my "alarm clock" music ! Glad you listened to it at last !
Glad you started to play the game as well ! I started with Definitive Edition when it came out (got the Collector Edition with the vinyl disc !) after not being able to play the original on Wii for years, and it became one of my favorite games as soon as the point you are now (end of your 3rd VOD). I'm really glad you switched back to English ! Neither Japanese or Japanese are my mother tongue, and I'm not disturbed hearing any of them. But the English localization is really good in my opinion, source of a lot of memes, and is tightly linked to the arrival of the series in Europe, which then permitted the game coming to the USA, so I feel there's a special value to that.
Anyway, glad you're liking the game as much as a lot of people already did !
Fogbeasts is a goated battle theme, can’t wait till you get to FC to hear it!
24:02 it will indeed be a wilde ride!
Dude, I am stoked for your Xenoblade playthrough. I hope everything will be uploaded to your vods channel?
Jesse’s last few videos: back, arm, legs and torso, head, shoulder
Fogbeast theme is peak
Definitive Edition came out *after* Xenoblade 2 and it's Expansion "Torna: The Golden Country", however Future Connected debuted *with* the Definitive Edition as a new story that takes place after the main story.
How come all comments are locked on the vod channel? Wouldn't it make sense to have them open for feedback and engagement? Or is it fear of spoilers?
Spoilers most likely.
I usually play this game every couple of years or so, and since I've loved your VODs on the game so far, I think this year I'll stick with it instead of playing it again!
A little disappointed that he isnt doing the English dub of the game so he won't be hearing Shulks ICONIC English Lines, but at least his music reactions are always peak.
Aw he switched ? naur.....
@@corruptedteka He changed it just in time for the "I'll kill you."
Epic.
Yeah i was just about to comment that lmao
The eng dub is way too iconic and good to switch!
@@andrewwilliams8951 nooooooo that's so sad :(
not that the japanese voices aren't good. of course they're great, but i think it's just good to appreciate the quality of the localization, and the history of it.
Has he set his choice in stone? If so that definitely takes the wind out of my sails when it comes to wanting to watch through the vods
"How often do you hear a lot of something over a long period of time and know close to nothing about it?" That's probably most of the internet with regards to Touhou music.
24:30 Yeah, everyone, be the truest Xenoblade fans and avoid even making vague hints at spoilers, use our code names, do everything we used to be so amazing at.
I have bad news, everyone...
*He's playing Xenoblade in Japanese*
NOOOOOOOOOO
I saw this... Biggest tragedy ever....
Lol, I went to this video to see if someone would comment on that. 😂
this oibruv erasure is disgusting
Oh, the heresy😢
Also as for the flutes, only Xenoblade *3* is heavily based around flutes. The other 2 just use it sparingly
This is just general info about the music and release history, so I don't know if this falls under "too much information", lemme know in a month I guess:
What you heard here is new to Definitive Edition, so which songs walked so others could run is flipped.
You're gonna be playing Xenoblade? Nice.
(Stream?)
Future Connected is en epilogue to Xenoblade 1 that was added in the Definitive Edition, and it's included.
Torna is a DLC to Xenoblade 2 that acts as a prequel and it's like a new whole game from about 25-30 hours
Xenoblade 3 also has a prequel DLC, it's called Future Redeemed, but you should not check it out because you will be instantly spoiled.
Xenoblade games are independant to each other. XC2 is not a sequel to XC1. They're independant games. Just like Final Fantasy.
That you changed the beautiful British voice overs from the talented British actors to Japanese on your Xenoblade Chronicles playthrough was a big let down. Wanted to watch you playing. Not anymore. Enjoy the game. Greetings from Athens, Greece.
He switched back for now.
@@Arksimon2k Oh that's great. Thank you very much for telling me.
Yea I was super dissapointed when he was dissing Shulks VA, but I'm glad he switched during THAT cutscene and got to hear Adam Howden's performance
@@clapiotis he switched back in time for Engage the Enemy
@@zingzingjr.4596 Yeah. Someone else also told me. Thank you. I am watching his videos now.
Xenoblade rules \m/
I can't wait for your playthrough, have fun 😎
Definitely ending your Xenoblade Chronicles 1 requests on a high note for sure- Fogbeasts is great! I just love the very start for some reason, it pulls me in every time. Then it just proceeds to take off into greatness from there.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your time with Xenoblade. Can't wait to see how you react to the story, and all the great songs that you didn't react to. There's a few more I songs I easily would've requested down the line, but I'm glad you'll be hearing them in game in their full glory. Best of luck, and hopefully you vibe with it!
Future Connected was new content for Definitive Edition, so Torna actually came out first. This music was inspired by it for sure.
The reason why it reminds you of Torna it's because the Xenoblade DE Future Connected came out after Torna, and they already found their style with Torna.
Bionis' shoulder was the most magical place to explore, coming from someone who experienced the unfinished map in the Wii version.
God what an incredible thumbnail lmfao
Fogbeast battle still is my favorite song of all time, its just beautiful
I'm kinda sad he changed the voices to japanese on his playthrough, I'm probably not gonna watch anymore,
but good luck though, hope you enjoy the game
Yeah, I might just skim the playthrough for music reactions. I don't really enjoy watching a language I don't speak.
He changes it back to English during the attack on colony 9. Although I don't know if he keeps it that way.
@@Luigipotter he keeps it in English, he's up to episode seven and hasn't made it japanese again so that is something
Also I like the English version because I get to have his gameplay in the background while I do other stuff
Comment about the audio in part 2 of your xenoblade playthrough (just to say that it isn't spoiler): I think your audio levels before sounded too quiet so I appreciate the changes you made in part 2. It sounds good
Ain't nobody gonna spoil these games for you brother, the stories are too beloved for that.
Honestly, I forgot I’d requested this and when I heard my name I was confused for a sec… but then I strapped myself in for the ride.
Has he already reacted to “Time to Fight! (Bionis’ Shoulder)”??
Hear me out but I really want a Xenosaga remake so bad.
