If this is your reaction to Mechanical Rhythm, ooh baby, I so hope you get the chance to listen to 'Incoming!' from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The song slaps just as hard as Mechanical Rhythm. Also great analysis on the song, the guitar breakdown was awesome listen to.
Just beat this game finally and had to come back and see your reactions to the OST - your reaction to counterattack in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is still one of my favourite videos of yours c:
Listening to this song for the first time is like walking into a room and _immediately_ getting shovel'd straight across the face, except in a way that feels indescribably good. And I love how that's so visible in your reaction. xD
Pretty much all of the music from the whole Xeno series is outstanding. My favorites from each game are "Zanza the Divine" from Xenoblade Chronicles, "Black Tar pt 2" from Xenoblade Chronicles X, and "You will Recall Our Names" from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
There's so many great songs to choose from, and especially hard to pick a fav from Xeno 2 for me. My list would probs be though: X1 - You Will Know Our Names XX - Uncontrollable X2 - Incoming!
Great reaction! The song Incoming! From Xenoblade 2 has amazing riffs, pinch harmonics and a heavy rhythm. You’d love it. Great guitar and drums in that one.
This video was just in my recommended and it’s always good to see more people being impressed by Xenoblade Music. I am sure many here have recommended much themes but I as someone who played each game for over 400 hours I also want to tell you which theme I love. Xenoblade 1: Agniritha Capital ( a city with a own atmosphere…) , Bionis Shoulder (large green plains and interesting rock formations, it’s what you see on the cover) and Central Factory are the Overworld themes I remember the most and Fog Beast Battle is one of the newer themes from the remake that I fell in love with right from the start. Xenoblade X: Noctilum (a large rainforest continent), Oblivia (a desert continent that is covered with strange ruins) and Sylvalum Night version (a continent that I can’t quite describe… it’s otherworldly… well since it’s an alien planet and all… it’s white but all plants and other things start to glow green in the dark with a pink aurora borealis) are all overworld themes I love and NO.EX01 (yes strange name but it’s one of the best boss themes), Black Tar Skell Battle, Uncontrollable, Prog Ares Boss and The Key we’ve Lost are extremely good battle themes. Xenoblade 2: Yggdrasil (the World Tree, a ethereal place to most that bleeds into something unknown when you arrive), Tantal (a snow continent that has a really unusual theme for a snow region), Mor Ardain (the desert… but with trumpets) , Uraya (cool waterregion with glowing cherry trees and interesting music), Gormott (the typical startingforest of a game… but with one of the longest tracks I have ever heard) and the battle themes Counterattack, Battle Torna, Bringer of Chaos and Still Move Forward.
Hard to say what ‘rivals’ this song in the series, the soundtracks for Xenoblade games go hard as hell. You already got one of the big ones recommended all over the comments here, but I don’t see a one of my top picks that I would recommend, Battle!!, from Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country. Unbelievably it’s the normal battle theme, a very different take for the series but still incredible. Edited to remove references to another recommendation, since I realized you already reacted to it.
The craziest thing about this song is that it's just a normal battle theme once you make it to a certain point of the game. It's so freaking good that I literally picked any fight I could from the time I heard this song and onward. Excellent piece. It gives me goosebumps every time. Edit: yes, there is another version. Definitive Edition redid ALL of the music. Original and Definitive versions of the entire soundtrack are both incredible. And the answer to your final question is You Will Know Our Names.
I can't imagine no one has requested it but, "you will know our names" is THE song from this game, and it is one of the best video game songs ever written imo. You should check it out if you can.
I've never even played it (game's long) but I do always love listening to the XC soundtrack. If we're talking which ones are our favorites though, this one does narrowly lose to You Will Know Our Names for me personally. Still an incredible bop regardless.
I don't know much about Xenoblade X, but hear me out. There are some tracks in there that you just DESERVE to hear, alright ? They're awe-inspiring. As for my own recommendations... For Xenoblade 1 ( DE ), "Prologue B" and "Agniratha, Mechonis Capital". For Future Connected, "Time to Fight! (Bionis' Shoulder)" and "Fogbeast Battle". For Xenoblade 2, "Tantal/day", "Yggdrasil" and literally every single battle theme. Finally, for Torna - The Golden Country, there's the unavoidable "Battle!!/Torna". I sadly don't know the names of the amazing X tracks I've heard, and I don't wanna spoil myself looking for them but DANG they're gems. Also, if you decide to play Xenoblade, you are legally required to stay on the title screen to listen to its music. Not that you would be to help yourself doing it either way- it's positively beautiful.
Uncontrollable, Wir Fliegan, The Key We've Lost, Black Tar, etc. Are all amazing then there are the songs with names that look like they came from the back of a WiFi router like z5m20i12r04a28
Answering your question about the best Xenoblade Chronicles songs, having played through the game so many times I've lost count, I have to give my favorite to Engage the Enemy or Unfinished Battle/Business (which were both requests by me lmao). I am extremely biased because these songs play during some of the coolest or most impactful scenes in the game and carry a lot of meaning and weight behind them for me and the nostalgia rushes over me when I hear them.
The thing with the xenoblade chronicle's soundtrack, is that while people will have their absolute favourite tracks within it. I can't really think of any track that is objectively bad - they're all fitting, they're all amazing in their own right. Especially when paired with the environment you're in at the time. Basically the game team just set a new standard for BGMs period. But Mechanical Rhythm is one of my favourites which is amusing considering it's a normal battle theme in certain areas.
This was the *basic* battle theme of the second half of Xenoblade 1. I still remember the first time I encountered this song in the game and loved it so much I got in back-to-back fights so the music wouldn't stop and ended up grossly overleveled.
I came to Mechanis fully expecting the robots to try and melt my face off. I never saw the battle theme coming. Legitimately went dumb in the middle of a fight for a moment when I noticed the change in bgm.
Well then listen to the Xenoblade X soundtrack. The OST of that game never made it into Ultimate… despite being a Wii U game which I never understood. Noctilum, Oblivia and Sylvalum Night are all overworld themes I love and NO.EX01 (yes strange name but it’s one of the best boss themes), Black Tar Skell Battle, Uncontrollable, Prog Ares Boss and The Key we’ve Lost are extremely good battle themes.
He just nutted to this song lol This song plays as the battle theme for the second half of the game. For the first half, you're on a massive living creature, and the enemies are mostly animals and wildlife, but for the second half, you cross over to the neighboring mechanical titan, and everything's a killer robot that wants you dead. It's very much meant to throw you for a loop once you first hear it. This is also one of the songs I feel changed the most for the better in the rerelease; the original was great, but Definitive Edition just blows it out of the water
True story. I just stumbled on this with no context or knowledge completely naturally, so imagine when I hear my brothers long time username as the request!
Just found your channel, so sorry for the late response; As a huge Xenoblade fan, I can say Mechanical Rhythm is on the upper scale of Xenoblade music, but in my opinion definitely not the best. The competition is just too large. Guess I can list you my favourites of each game (yet, XC 3 is on its way
I’m sure someone else is mentioned this before but the fact that one of the core themes of the game is natural/biological vs mechanical/machine makes these songs so much cooler as the same battle is taking place between the more classical instruments and rock instruments. Fucking sweet
Another good regular enemy song from Xenoblade DE and an arrangement in XC3 is Time to Battle (Bionis' Shoulder). That and this are two of my favorite regular non-boss enemy themes in this series. They're jazzy, like Torna's battle theme.
You should listen to "battle in the skies above" also from xbc2. Sadly half the people who played the game probably didn't hear it because they were too strong or avoided the last 5 or 6 enemies in the final area that got this theme. It's dlc uses it a few more times luckily, but it's so good.
Dude this song pops off. Ugh. Wonderful reaction as always! I think a certain game's soundtrack could offer some great reactions as well! Request: The Last Remnant OST - The Gates of Hell.
To be honest, the best way to get into a game is through the music. I found MGR at the start of 2021 before the memes came rolling in through a remix of a track. Left me with the perfect mindset for the game itself. Music fits the games themes and if you go in because of a few tracks, you'll know what's going on, be in the right headspace, and it'll push you to get to the tracks, letting you push through the part you might otherwise just slog through. Slaving through your first Souls game in ER because you wanna get to Radahn when otherwise you'd just drop at Margit is definitely something that people have experienced.
My favorite battle song from Xenoblade is You Will Recall Our Names or Incoming! from Xenoblade 2. I highly recommend both of them. You Will Know Our Names is also amazing and is the most popular song in the franchise.
Both Xenoblade games have this identity because of the music of ACE and Mitsuda. Mitsuda started it all with the original Xenogears, carrying over to Xenosaga and now with Xenoblade. I feel ACE is carrying his spirit through and why they work so well with him (he took the role of music director for Xenoblade 2 to tighten up the game's music identity through different composers). I can't wait for you to delve in through the series and the games Mitsuda and ACE are involved with.
Mitsuda only composed the ending song for Xenoblade 1. Most of the credit for 1's OST should go to Mamami Kiyota, who's responsible for the large majority of area and cinematic music in that game, including the DE remasters of the Yoko Shimomura tracks in the beginning parts of the game. As for Xenosaga, Mitsuda only composed for Xenosaga: Episode I. And that game is kinda infamous for having almost no music during gameplay (barring the battle theme and the final boss theme) and only really surfacing in the cinematics. Saga's musical identity only really solidified itself once Yuki Kajiura joined the team in Episode II, so much so that she was tasked with composing the entirety of Episode III's OST on her own (she composed the cinematic music for Ep. II while the gameplay tracks were done by Shinji Hosoe).
Since Mechanical Rhythm is one of his favourite Xenoblade OST, someone definitely needs to request Ultimate Enemy from Xenoblade 3. (that's the actual name of the "Aionios' Strongest" theme) Especially since even if he played Xenoblade 3, he may miss this song, as it's a post game exclusive
The fact that this isn’t even a boss theme and is just the basic enemy encounter music past a certain area in the game should tell you a lot about how much care is put into this ost.
Damn I love this soundtrack so freakin much. I don't even know much about guitars (even tho I own one) - I just love music and playing a little bit of piano (on a pretty shitty level). But this soundtrack blews you so out of the house. It's just a BGM masterpiece. For your information - You asked if there is a different version to it - yes it kinda is. Xenoblade Chronicles came out on the late circle on the Nintendo Wii back in 2011 and it was already orchestrated back then but I can clearly call that it got a fresh overhaul when the Definitive Edition came out on the Switch. So you might fight the old version somewhere on youtube probably. It was already a banger back then tho. :D In terms of the question, when you ask if there is a better song in the game, then I can say yes for me. And that would be the Main Title Theme. It's like a huge orchestra with so much going on - it's my most loved Video Game Music of all time. A close second to that would be Zanza the Divine which is the Final Boss Theme and also packs a huge punch in your face, musically.
When playing Xenoblade Chronicles, only specific bosses normally get the heavy guitar treatment. But then you reach a pivotal turning point in the story, and after a change in scenery, you enter a new area. For the first few fights, "Mechanical Rhythm" hits like a goddamn truck! I generally love it when RPG's pull out the heavy rock/metal treatment, since it's the game genre you'd least expect to have headbangers! On that note, here's a recommendation: "Shadows of Death over there" from Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, composed by Yuzo Koshiro. Some of the dirtiest groovy rock I've ever heard in an RPG, and completely out of left field!
I _think_ I actually like the original Wii composition more than this, but both are great in their own rights. The Wii version is actually very different, and doesn't drown the guitar out as much.
This is the version of the Definitive Edition (which is more orchestrated) The original version (andy favorite version) is more focused on the guitar (a slight but significant difference)
Yup, Mechanical Rhythm was always one of those jamming Xenoblade soundtracks. I have tons of suggestions, but i’ll keep them short. Mainly for Kingdom Hearts: Struggle Away - KH: Chain Of Memories All For One - KH3D: DDD You will know our names - Xenoblade 1 Time to Fight - Xenoblade 1 An Obstacle In Our Path - Xenoblade 1 And Lastly Visions Of The Future - Xenoblade 1
Discovered you today and you have not disappointed! I neeeed you to listen to Six Heroes from the BlazBlue soundtrack, has all those meaty guitar riffs that I’m sure you’d love!
The non definitive edition versions of any xenoblade song are also amazing and honestly i would have loved it if you had compared them. Edit: depending on your preferences you actually might like the non definitive version more.
you should react to the Sepiks Redux theme from Destiny: Rise of Iron. It’s so fire 🔥. (Just make sure it isn’t the Sepiks Prime theme because that one I didn’t really like but it was the song that brought inspiration for Sepiks Redux)
I _do not_ understand people who say the original is better, not beyond it being the one they knew the longest / nostalgia / attachment. I _do not_ understand at all.

Oh and I forgot to mention in my previous message but just an FYI, this is NOT a boss theme, but instead just the song that plays for NORMAL battles about half way through the game lol
Song mentioned in this video;
Lamb Of God - Blacken The Cursed Sun
(Rhythmic palm mutes at 2:49)

Just beat this game finally and had to come back and see your reactions to the OST - your reaction to counterattack in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is still one of my favourite videos of yours c:
Aww yis, this is my favourite Xenoblade track. The guitar just pops off, then the strings! The transitions are amazing.
I love Xenoblade Chronicles so much It was the first game that made me realize how amazing Video Game Music could be!
Me with Sonic when I was little. I always thought Sonic is the cooler Mario.
Listening to this song for the first time is like walking into a room and _immediately_ getting shovel'd straight across the face, except in a way that feels indescribably good.
And I love how that's so visible in your reaction. xD
The fact that this is just the normal battle theme for the second halve of the game is just insane
My list would probs be though:
X1 - You Will Know Our Names
XX - Uncontrollable
X2 - Incoming!
F… I just saw that you already did Counterattack… well then scratch that from the list since I lose the heart when I edit it now…
Love the xenoblade ost, and thanks for going into detail in the latter half of the video.
When you play Xenoblade, you will understand why we love the franchise.
Holy Moly, i thought you just came in that song. Xenoblade OSt ist pure gold to me.
Greetings from germany.
My face melted and the goo formed a metal sign on the ground.
Awesome reaction! This is the song that made want to play the game. And I did! For 100+ hours.
my favourite's FogBeast Battle from Xenoblade Chronicles DE. It's one of the newer songs and such a banger
I still remember the first time I encountered this song in the game and loved it so much I got in back-to-back fights so the music wouldn't stop and ended up grossly overleveled.
my first play though i was almost to the final boss at level 99 and then that's when i saw the affinity menu and face palmed so fucking hard lol
That's not entirely true. For one thing, you get it a bit over the 2nd half. And 2nd... it's tied to certain areas.
I came to Mechanis fully expecting the robots to try and melt my face off. I never saw the battle theme coming. Legitimately went dumb in the middle of a fight for a moment when I noticed the change in bgm.
This video is a channel classic at this point haha.
I really enjoy mechonis field or central factory from xc. They r criminally underrated
I haven't played Xenoblade before, but I'm always pumped when I get one of its stages in Smash Bros Ultimate so I can hear these bangers
He just nutted to this song lol
This song plays as the battle theme for the second half of the game.
I've been waiting for this one.
14:00 Incoming! is almost better to my ears!
Exploration and Still Move Forward are also amazing (both from Xenoblade Chronicles 2)
It kicks open the door slaps you across the face brakes five windows and three vases only to say hi and leave
Now what if I told you this was just the basic 'you're fighting' track for the second half of the game
Absolutely love this track, easily one of my favorites in the whole Xenoblade series
ThIs is absolutely the correct reaction to this song.
You should listen to "battle in the skies above" also from xbc2. Sadly half the people who played the game probably didn't hear it because they were too strong or avoided the last 5 or 6 enemies in the final area that got this theme. It's dlc uses it a few more times luckily, but it's so good.
Jesse you need to do a top 10 list or top ones for the month, would love to see what you put up there!
Amazing reaction to THE best video game music ever!
Falcom has a word to say also
@@wildarmsfan-tn9ju yes Ys and Trails ost are also awesome!
That was my same reaction when i Heard this banger, from there i felt like the game took another step to greatness
Oh my goood this music is so goood!!!
I can't believe he hasn't listened to more from this game like Colony 9 cause gawddam what an eargasm
Colony 9? Don't get me wrong, it's a good track but that doesn't even come close to this one
(that's the actual name of the "Aionios' Strongest" theme)
Especially since even if he played Xenoblade 3, he may miss this song, as it's a post game exclusive
The fact that this isn’t even a boss theme and is just the basic enemy encounter music past a certain area in the game should tell you a lot about how much care is put into this ost.
Always love seeing people listen to xenoblade music, so many bangers in this series
In terms of the question, when you ask if there is a better song in the game, then I can say yes for me. And that would be the Main Title Theme. It's like a huge orchestra with so much going on - it's my most loved Video Game Music of all time.
A close second to that would be Zanza the Divine which is the Final Boss Theme and also packs a huge punch in your face, musically.
Sooooo, who is gonna tell him this is just the NORMAL battle theme for the second third of the game?
Some of the dirtiest groovy rock I've ever heard in an RPG, and completely out of left field!
you might have to listen to a new soundtrack this september..
It's funny you took a breath when the song let you do it. 'Cause that's exactly why is there hahaha
I _think_ I actually like the original Wii composition more than this, but both are great in their own rights. The Wii version is actually very different, and doesn't drown the guitar out as much.
Agreed, I feel the original felt a little better
This is the version of the Definitive Edition (which is more orchestrated)
The original version (andy favorite version) is more focused on the guitar (a slight but significant difference)
Yup, Mechanical Rhythm was always one of those jamming Xenoblade soundtracks. I have tons of suggestions, but i’ll keep them short. Mainly for
Kingdom Hearts:
Struggle Away - KH: Chain Of Memories
All For One - KH3D: DDD
You will know our names - Xenoblade 1
Time to Fight - Xenoblade 1
An Obstacle In Our Path - Xenoblade 1
And Lastly
Visions Of The Future - Xenoblade 1
One again I will recommend Eyes that Gaze into the Nexus from Bravely Default 2
Get this man some Battle!! (Torna)
Now that you've heard Mechanical Rhythm, you may treat yourself to the live version
Discovered you today and you have not disappointed!
I neeeed you to listen to Six Heroes from the BlazBlue soundtrack, has all those meaty guitar riffs that I’m sure you’d love!
Hey I’m new to the channel and have been enjoying it. I have a song recommendation it’s Boss Battle B2 from Smt4.
The non definitive edition versions of any xenoblade song are also amazing and honestly i would have loved it if you had compared them.
Edit: depending on your preferences you actually might like the non definitive version more.
I do. The remakes aren't bad at all but the originals had more "oomph" imo
you should react to the Sepiks Redux theme from Destiny: Rise of Iron. It’s so fire 🔥. (Just make sure it isn’t the Sepiks Prime theme because that one I didn’t really like but it was the song that brought inspiration for Sepiks Redux)
Composer from this is ACE, iirc
"Face-melting"
*coughs*
Personally Engage the Enemy is one of my favorite gaming tracks ever
Strong Guilty Gear vibes, great cut!
I just want to point out that this is a regular enemy battle theme.
"what on Earth -- not ever in Earth"
Little did he know that line was spoilers
I _do not_ understand people who say the original is better, not beyond it being the one they knew the longest / nostalgia / attachment. I _do not_ understand at all.
私は英語がわかりませんが、あなたのリアクションが好きです。
Just saying, Zanza the divine kinda goes crazy
Was this the start? He's finally playing it 😭(search in his VOD channel for Playthrough)
you should really listen to battle C3 or Battle B2 from smt iv. Both are some of the best battle themes in the game
SMT as a whole has some phenomenal music. Battle ~Da'at~ and Da'at ~Shinagawa~ from SMTV, Muladhana, Sahasrara and Hunting ~Comrades~ from Digital Devil Saga, Epic Battle and Hunting ~Betrayal~ from Digital Devil Saga 2, the boss theme and quest battle from Persona 2: Innocent Sin, the boss battle theme of Devil Summoner (especially the Raidou 2 cover), Battle ~Raidou~ and Tsukudo-cho from Devil Sumoner: Radou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army, Demi-Fiend's battle theme from SMT: Imagine, Battle Beat from Devil Survivor, I could go on and on.
Hey Jesse i think the best song from xenoblade chronicals is you will know our names. Btw bolt song are generic battle music not from a boss.
