I feel like, despite being an extraction shooter, Forever Winter is made more for people who enjoy games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Barotrauma than people who enjoy regular shooters
It needs workas and rough at times, but like most people, ya it's a lot of fun. Even with the jank(less now after the now 4 Hotfixs) I've had a great 40 hrs solo and with my bros in the gorgeous Grim Dark environment. Even thjough the Water is NOT a real issue(real easy to surplus), I anticipate it will be refined soon to make it more useful. Very excited to see how the eveolves until full launch. TEAM SHAMAN! BagMan is fun because of all the PAIN he can bring.
@braydengeick4015 not everyone can play a couple hours every day, or even every other day. Some people will eventually get burnt out, but won't want to lose their progress. Don't take this as a rude remark, but I don't think you're seeing the full picture for people on the more casual side of gaming. Personally, I go through phases of playing a game for a week to a month, then dropping it for a week to a month, and then starting again.
Its actually not a thing. If you play this game you will have lots of water. Actually way more than u need. The system will change too. Most stuff we see in the game is actually a placeholder.
@@verdigo1 Doesnt really matter. I play this game now for a week or so and i have over 70 water. I dont even pick it up anymore. You reach that point very quickly.
So I think you missed a small detail. The devs didnt want to release this early, but their discord literally harassed them to release to EA. If you feel like the game is very early access its because it is. This is what happens when you give a bunch of youtubers access to your games before they are ready. They show people, people get excited and have 0 patience and we get a bad first release
I know it's a buggy mess, but never the less it didn't stopped me from playing it all week, it's just satisfying sneaking around the world being a little loot goblin while colossal robots are duking it out on the background ^^
People need to remember that the game is very early access, I dont quite understand the reason why gamers immediately review bomb a game especially those that are in EA and are KNOWN to have issues (after all they are still a work in progress). In my experience id rather buy an early access game (with a good dev team or planned roadmap) than a AAA game that still has bugs for double the price.
the gameplay feels very much like Metal Gear Solid V ...but without the good AI ...or stealth mechanics. The visuals look very cool though and I think the concept would work much better with huge procedurally generated mazes than these small handcrafted maps.
it's not perfect, nothing EVER will be perfect as there's no such thing, but TFW is a fantastic interactive world of GrimDark, it lets you see and feel just how pointless and insignificant you are in a world gone to hell, everything sucks, everyone is fucked, we will never see a day where peace can exist again, the only sliver of hope we could possibly ever manage is the possible chance not even guarantee we will live long enough to the the next sunrise each time we leave for the surface to gather resources, the merchants of different factions don't care about you only the tilt of power and control you could help bring their sides, if you die on a task they give you oh well no skin off their back you aren't one of theirs, the scavs only associate with you because you brought water and resources, but when that's gone they abandon you just the same not hesitating to pack up shop. the world FDS built is absolutely beautiful in an apocalyptic way and it pulls you in, you know it's bleak hopeless dark and depressing yet you can't help but want to see more. it's a breath of fresh air having the genre of GrimDark being expressed outside just WH40K which isn't the only series of stories in that genre it just happens to be a long standing juggernaught within it, and the concept of not being the hero or villain just a person trying to survive is something we desperately needed for the GrimDark genre.
I love this explanation for the game. This sums up exactly what I felt while playing the game and there a lot you mentioned that I didn’t even think about. 🙏
Honestly my only problem with the game is that's it's... A PvE Extraction Shooter designed as if it were a PvP Extraction shooter... Having a constant timer ticking down even when I'm not playing the game really doesn't make me want to put time into the game if it does just... Completely reset me with no ifs or buts. But I guess that's a more uncommon opinion judging from the internet's general view of it.
For such a short video this is surprisingly full of just out and out spin. They didn't push this game out because the fans demanded it. There's not a veteran dev on the planet who would fall into that trap, and, frankly, I hadn't heard of this game until around June ish when they clearly started their marketing push. The game is coming out super early because once upon a time it was tied to a bunch of crypto grifters at Gala Games. Which also probably explains why it's in such a rough state, because it was probably as awfully managed as every other halfhearted crypto grift relying on bag holders to buy in sight unseen but then it had to pivot to standing on its own. Suddenly the funding stream they planned on is gone. Kick it to early access and hope it doesn't fall on its face or find investors in a down market are the only options, and kicking to early access costs $100 and no time. Also "some people" have not been calling this an "anti-shooter", that's literally the elevator PR pitch for this game. The devs have been calling this an anti-shooter. And people have been repeating what the devs have been saying.
@@GoldenYT01 With games like this, as early as they are, are probably not meant for the wider audience, especially in the alpha state. I hope that this game doesn't get repetitive in the long run. The only reason I personally love Helldivers 2 so much is because I can at least have some fun in vc with the squad when I'm bored lmao. That said, I LOVE the look of this and am considering buying it. I just wanna wait a little first.

Oh yeah I can definitely see that. Iv Never played barotrauma but i definitely want to
Cool thing about it: there will be a free Demo. So you can decide for yourself. :b

TEAM SHAMAN! yeah the game is a ton of fun but I really can’t wait to see what the full release will end up looking like
That stupid water thing is the only reason I dont have it yet
I like taking breaks from games for days at a time. Having my in-game water wasting away while I'm not playing feels awful.
@@verdigo1 bro I had 16 in a couple of hours it's literally the easiest thing to get in the game

Pick up any item you want buy ADS on what you actually want to pick up 🤙🏼
Thank You!
once you get good, get good weapons, and understand the map/enemies - you can very much kill lots of stuff easily
Unfortunately it seems most people don’t give it enough of a chance to get that far
Yes

how is it tied to gala, where did you find this information
No early access buy
That’s valid
Ignore the crybaby reviews. This game is a fresh of breath air.
its like walking through soup
It really is. I haven’t played anything like it before. In my opinion it’s a Awesome take on the extraction genre
