Lore/gameplay wise the courier has maxed out all of his 'stats' by the endgame. Which makes that clip of him noticing that wastelander all the more scary. What a cool way to convey max perception
Yup, the Courier really not the one you wanna mess with early on nor end game. I mean you could, of course, due to this game engine jank nature, terrible AI combat copy-paste from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion ( there is a reason why people called Fallout 3 Oblivion with guns ), a bit of exploit there & there, you can beat the Courier. But, I must say, he's the best final boss in DUST if only they can make it worth your while to fight, not keep reloading saves after getting one or two shot killed from Courier hehe
All this because the Courier chose to side with the funny robot who can’t say no
I would say it's pretty much all the NCRS fault they brought an improved version of the cloud they wanted everything with the bears grubby paws they didn't know when they should leave something well enough alone
i wonder if its based on some of their other choices. In this timeline, he did launch the missiles into NCR and Legion territories, according to the video. He also let Oliver go, instead of tossing him over the edge like pretty much everyone else does. Something mentioned in the video was that apparently the Van Graffs may have been allies... That can't have made him popular with the NCR. I just discovered this, and it's pretty awesome so far, but as someone who always goes independent, it also makes me wonder if my choices would lead to the same outcome that this timeline had :(

The Courier companion mod for Dust while a little rough around the edges is great. He's aa super powerful companion, and makes the dangerous trek to reach him worth it. I also think it's rather interesting on the courier's side. Everything he worked for was a failure. Everyone he tried to protect is dead or mad. But maybe, just maybe he can save you, the survivor, and get you to safety. Theres a reason why whenever I play dust I always use this mod. Giving the courier once last chance to do something good with his life feels really cathartic.

Really fits here, it's almost scary how The Courier not only lost his Legend and Legacy but also his identity as the Monarch of the Mojave just as quickly as he earned it and then turned into a scapegoat for all the crisis that came after.

A shame what happened with Courier 6, he deserved better than what he got in the end. But damn if he wasn't on a wild gamble streak before Dust happened, his luck had to run out eventually, but goddamn not like this.

Man oh man this is AWESOME! One of the things I love about Fallout Dust is how the courier has become a ghoul. The way he looks and his outfit reminds me so much of Darth Vader. I think your Dust lore series is amazing

Me too! It was heartbreaking when I got to Goodsprings and saw what happened and just crushed to read the notes the ppl left behind.
Dust shouldn't be considered canon to anyone, it represents the absolute worst-case scenario after the worst New Vegas playthrough. If you care about the Mojave and the characters within, you'd probably want to do way better than this.

Good thing my Courier is the Hero of the NCR and the Mojave so none will stand in my way, but damn this mod can be the true cannon ending for this game since there are no fallout new vegas 2 or something like this game. Is just damn so sad seeing the man turn into a ghoul
I saw ur dust review and I think you migth Like enderal (complete game made with skyrim with like 150 hours of gameplay) the atmosphere is top notch and has a killer soundtrack too. Gameplay is harder and the story and themes are dark and super well executed especially with how the game doesn't hold ur hands with map markers and rewards the player for actually listening or reading about the world.
Like it's pretty cool to read a book in a game and gain knowledge on how to defeat a boss or information giving you context on the very purposely confusing and mysterious story.
I also wouldn't mind a series on it

Had no idea the NCR actually left temporarily after Hoover Dam. I thought they instantly said 'No' and fought the Courier and won
At the end of the second battle of Hoover Dam, The Courier had a large army of securitrons at his back during that meeting with Oliver. Oliver may be an overconfident idiot, but he isn't completely stupid. He knew that he was at an extreme disadvantage against the courier in that situation, so his best tactical option was a temporary withdrawal.
This lore series is so damn good and so damn underrated, it is unfortunate, hopefully one day it gets its time in the sun. Keep up the great work.

I personally prefer to think “the courier” in dust is just the true couriers body double, who took the role of the courier too serious and it drove them to believe they were the courier themselves whilst the true courier is still out there

Tbf this only happened because the Courier chose to make the NCR his enemy and nuked them in Lonesome Road, if he wasn't a state-declared terrorist then I imagine things would've been a bit different. Not to mention this is like, a super edgy, anarchist Courier you'd play as when you're like 15 anyway

Great video my friend! The courier is def my fav protagonist of the fallout universe, and arguably the most badass
I don't think the securitron army could exist in the timeline that dust puts forward. The Strip and new Vegas as a whole would have been able to defend itself from any invasion army if it had the army (At least that's what the vanilla game says). The only ending that could support the ncr annexing the strip post-endgame would a yes-man ending where the courier destroyed the army for whatever reason. I'm not saying it's a smart by dusts courier, but it makes sense in my mind. Especially if ncr was able to annex the strip so easily.
I think it actually makes some sense once you remember the Courier nuked the Long 15. I think it would still be possible for the NCR to take Vegas in House's ending, but that cost of lives would not be worth it and everyone in the NCR would despise the military for it. The Courier on the other hand is a state-declared terrorist that bombed their main trade route into the Mojave, then kicked the NCR out of Vegas and took the Dam for himself. I can easily see the NCR being completely pissed and starting another war at that point. One of the smartest things House did was realize that making an enemy out of the NCR would've just led to Vegas being steamrolled by them, no matter what.

One thing I still don't understand - how did the NCR overcome the Securitron army wielded by the Courier?
sheer numbers the ncr threw everything they had at the bots similar to how they beat the brotherhood plus the people turned against him
@@the.dandy.man2Wait, when did the people turned against him? I always thought half the reason the revolt in Vegas even happened was because the NCR drove off the one guy willing to fight for their freedom and independence.

I wouldn't be against it. I think if I did it would have to be a ways down the road given just how long this series took to put together. I'd prolly make a video essay about FROST tho, if people wanted it

Crazy how the divide is kind of doing better than the Mojave in the end. So ends up there's a little community of traders there now? Would mean the marked men are not so high in numbers there anymore and most the tunnelers have migrated to the Mojave too?
So what happens to House, courier in this canon bumped him off, or disconnected him from his Vegas mainframe and went with Yes Man to provide a fully independent New Vegas yeah?

My head cannon ending is that whatever the courier did he sure sure as shit didn't help the legion and after the the 2nd battle of hoover dam he and maybe one of his companions left the Mojave, heading east perhaps seeking new adventures elsewhere

Yeah let’s just ignore the fact the Securitrons were designed to steam roll any invading force, or ignore the fact the courier as access to the Big MT or things like range finder, holograms, various factions in the region under his sway, including air support.
The premise makes no sense unless this a courier who just got out of the grave and made everyone his enemy and sabotaged his own force to tick yes man off out of some sort of revenge for having planned his ambush. Even then trying to invade with no proper trade routes into the region, and most likely the dam being sabotaged if he destroyed his army and followed Yes Man’s final plan. Like what would the NCR even gain from invading anymore? Vegas? A shell of its former self with no dam or army to claim.

I'm very much enjoying your lore videos. How long does it take you from start to finish for an episode?
Honestly it really depends. Really the longest part of production is getting my lazy ass to record the episode proper/editing my audio. From there it's as simple as putting the clips together, doing some sound design, mastering it, and then exporting.
