    Classic example of a fool-proof instructional video. When it's this clear even to me, you've done a fantastic job of explaining it. My only regret is not having seen this before cutting the "extra" length on my NATO watch strap... lol
    Bravo on the excellent video, sir!!

      I say Bravo to you for cutting the extra length off. It is useless and the additional clasp detracts from the view of the watch. Surely there is a better idea for a NATO strap.

    Hi just bought a new Formex Legerra 41 and order a NATO Strap made by Watchgecko they sent me the quick release pins the problem is the pins are not curved as it should be like the ones Formex have in there leather, rubber or even steel bracelets my question to you is do you know if your NATO straps exclusive design for Formex watches need special push pins?

  • @LP-cs6zg
    @LP-cs6zg ปีที่แล้ว

    I was about to order my first NATO strap (I am a bracelet guy..), thanks to this video I now realize there are TWO layers of webbing under the watch, which would make my thick watch sit even taller. Folding the excess over once closed would make the entire thing even bulkier. Luckily I have found your SINGLE PASS straps on your website which (unless I'm missing something) make much more sense to me than conventional NATO straps.

    • @Professional_Youtube_Commenter
      @Professional_Youtube_Commenter ปีที่แล้ว

      nato strap are primarily designed for comfort. the extra layer means the lugs and crown do not chafe onto your skin when you're out and about doing physical stuff. a perlon on a single pass might be fine for day to day. but a true nato is better for peope who are slightly more active. you get no marks on your skin wearing a nato like you do wearing a bracelet.

    • @tuttebenne1
      @tuttebenne1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Please; you must be joking. The NATO strap already has a layer of fabric/material/leather under the watch, raising it off the wrist. A conventional strap has less to prevent the chafing or marks on the skin that you talk about. Surely there is another, more practical reason for the extra layer because it only makes the strap less utilitarian. The watch becomes bulky appearing and the additional (third) clasp detracts from the look of the watch.@@Professional_TH-cam_Commenter

    Are there nato straps that aren’t routed under the watch? I have one and I’m not a big fan of the significant extra height it adds to my already large watch when I wear it. I suppose that may defeat the whole style of the nato strap, but whatever.

    Thanks. The one thing I don't like about NATOs is the superfluous length and the need to tuck it in, just looks untidy to me compared to a conventional strap.

      zoso thezephead well it was designed a long ass time ago lmao. Sorry you don’t like heritage. I used a NATO strap while in the Marines, the extra strap is very useful when putting on extra gear, jackets, or using as a tourniquet which I’ve done to save a buddies arm.

      Try the "Zulu" straps. They're nato straps with chunkier hardware, and are usually larger in general.
