Could be a cost cutting thing perhaps. But come to think of it, even the most expensive nato straps don’t have that. Maybe it has something to do with the metal rings possibly limiting the options of how to wear a nato🧐 not sure.. good question!
My pleasure my friend! Hmm I have to say I have no idea what the best places to order are in India.. Amazon is probably an OK place to start looking..🤔
Bought yet an other strap, and guess what, way too short again, had to melt two extra holes in the strap... What I could do is, undo the stitching, and make it longer, (and the useless double ending shorter), and re-stitch everything...I need the right kind of tool to cut the stitches, and not damage the band, the right needle and wire to re stitch it... or go to a tailor or shoe maker, who could do it for me.. I wish these folks who sell these NATO straps would be honest about how long the bands are.. i told them the size of my wrist, so how long the bit should be from the pin to the holes... and still, it was 1 cm too short..
Acquiring a curved wood turning chisel will take more time and money for the same result. So why in the world did you think that recommending it would be a good idea?
@@bigmacdaddy1234 Some people have them. Especially those with workshops and tools, like myself, tend to go for these sort of 'work-a-day' straps on our watches. Even if you don't have a wood turning gouge/ chisel, it might inspire someone to find a similarly shaped tool. A sharpened cookie cutter, for instance. You'd have to use pliers to hold it so you didn't burn your fingers, and heat it gently with a blowtorch (or on your gas stove).
@@adedaniel4006 All you need is a simple key ring. Slip the strap through the key ring with the edge you want to trim sticking out. Snip the edge off with scissors. The key ring will hold it together. Then use a lighter, candle or stove flame to lightly singe it. Problem solved. No need for wood chisels, cookie cutters and ten trips to Harbor Freight.
i invented way 4 to wear zulu / nato. as a watch addicted i own from panerai 2 special ones. as well hommages. 3:12 - wrong degree. 3:51 - watch the ! for that use 1 euro by 20 / 22 - 2 euro by 22 or 24 mm 4:37 - a result that is a great shit.
You're not supposed to shorten the strap tho.....the whole idea behind it being so long is so you can wear it over top of a jacket in the cold or other types of imclament weather and still be able to use your watch normally without having to expose your skin to the elements.
Most supplier specifically provide instructions to cut and burn end to prevent frays. So… yeah you’re definitely supposed to cut it if you don’t want to fold it.
It all comes down to how one chooses to wear it! If you're going to wear it on top of a jacket, don't cut it. If you won't, then you can consider cutting it :) Cheers!
Hahahah burn!! Can’t argue with you there. Tried to keep it to a minimum in newer videos but I did do it a lot in these older videos. It’s good that I’ve gotten some comments like this, wouldn’t even have noticed otherwise. So thanks!
@@NordicWatchChannel Didn't mean to be a dick about it but it really is distracting from what would be a good video. I just thumbs up'd the video. Thanks for being a gentleman about it.
Thanks man, that coin trick is genius!

Thank you very much! Good eye mate! It is a Wingman :)
I wonder who that Regimental NATO strap belongs to? I was thinking the "Rifles" or "Royal Gurkha Rifles" but it seems that's not the case.
Hmm not sure if it belongs to anyone? I just got it for christmas a long time ago from the bargain bin😂 Perfect christmas colors!
Thank you for the video.
My pleasure!
VERY Cool! Thanks for the tip!
👍
My pleasure mate!
What model of Seiko is that?
Hey! That’s a Seiko SKX007 :)
I have a problem with the holes fraying, why don't they reinforce the holes with a metal ring?

Might be a quality thing. I’ve had the same problems with the ones I use the most.
Worked for me. Thanks!
Glad to hear that! No problem mate!😊

Nato sizes are tricky! Bummed to hear that you’ve had some frustrating purchases!
Thanks super tip

Welcome aboard buddy😎
me sitting here with a nato strap that looks like that...
Sounds like you're in the right corner of the internet then!
Holes extra.... use a needle, start with a thin one, than put a thick one in, than heat the needle carefully with a soldering iron...
Good tips!
Ciao e grazie
My pleasure!
Just heat up a curved wood turning chisel and press down where you want the cut, the whole job in one step in about a minute.
Well that’s another way to do it😁 Maybe not something a student in a downtown flat has in the apartment 😂

Having difficulties understanding this comment completely. But that coin rule sounds convenient!

Yeah sure, but if I don’t plan on wearing it that way, I don’t see a reason not to😁

@@NordicWatchChannel you make a fair point. Can't argue that.
I just brought the omega bond nato strap for my omega smp I’ll probably get a cheap strap and do it to that one lol
