It's because it's not a music video, nor a lyric video, it's exactly just a concept video. A video that kinda puts you in the mood of the song, full of aesthetics and nothing else.
Everything about this video is perfectly done, music, kim’s vocals with her little signature, her voices mixing so well together, the fact that the character matches kims and madisons personalities, the adaptation to eve’s concept and mechanics, the animation, textures, etc thx riot
this video is also a huge flex of animation skills..the direction, the textures, the movements and details...at this point, I'd love to watch a movie in this style. it can be literally about anything, just K/Da hanging out and jamming to songs or whatever

Kinder yes and no, I'm sure it was fun to work on but in terms of budget more specifically pay, I remember hearing many stories about how Riot under pay/over work their workers :( Edit: I am now aware that Riot did not make this. When I first watched this video I knew that Riot was a big company but I didn't know they outsourced these videos to other studios, I just thought they did it all themselves. However, is still very common for CGI artists to be exploited, look at marvel for an instance. They use copious amounts of CGI in their movies and shows because it is cheaper than physical sets and props, and the studios they use for all the CGI are known for poor walking conditions. But from what I've heard, the animation studios Riot use for these videos are pretty decent with their workers.
This is one of the best quality 3d animations I've ever seen. And let's not mention the fact that it isn't for a game or a movie, it's a concept video on a fantasy artist.

Can we just appreciate the fact that her heels wobble as she walks at 0:57?! That’s such an insane amount of attention to detail, on the part of the animators.
Don't forget when her finger catches the rough surface of the concrete wall at 1:10! And her lips sticking together because of her gloss at 2:00!! Hats off to the animation team!

Yeah, I didn't notice it till Newova made a thing of pointing it out in his reaction video. That's a really nice little detail from the animators, since no one is gonna be walking rock solid on broken ground in stiletto heels. Just one of those little details that shows the studio was paying attention when they made the animation.
I hope there's more people who could realize, that this whole MV is basically the compilation of all the hardest aspects and challenges of present animation and graphics (raytracing, light/textile/fluid dynamics, volumetrics [that was made from scratch? 😯], and 3d textural modelling, to name some)

Yeah, it's a fantastic bit of execution. The shots are either too far away, in complete shadow, contrasting against light behind her creating a silhouette. The few times we kind of see her face she has a look of utter contempt and her eyes are intense.

@@luxilerate if you're talking about the game mechanics wise, yea there are many things that should be changed. But in terms of graphics, the game is made on a rather old engine and was designed so that low end devices could run it. If they were to make fancy animations or a lot of details for each character the game would most likely crash as the engine has its limits.
I personally really enjoy the idea of Riot having two artists present Evelynn. Its kinda like two different sides of her shown through different voice lines, and the switches are honestly breathtaking. Anyhow, thank u Rito for all this

Gods (Newjeans) is "better" statwise and Paranoia(Heartsteel) did better than Popstar(K/DA) To be fair saying something is better, is subjective (ignoring stats) but we can all agree Villain is at the top right? It's using clips that would have gone into More. One of them is the exact clip with an effect removed. Still, I'm so glad they gave us this. Lots of stuff we didn't get to see. The catwalk.... so fire.
@@Velereonics I can't find this exact clip you're referring to. The closest I can think of is at the beginning where she was facing right and then turns towards camera. She had a similar scene in More, but with brighter lighting. I'm just surprised we got so much more new footage that this feels honestly like a solid MV, not just a "hey we know you guys hate not having CG, so we whipped up some stuff". This is by all standards a full MV and if someone completely ignorant of League of K/DA watches it, they'd think it's just an animated music video by some artists.

@@luxilerate if you're talking about the game mechanics wise, yea there are many things that should be changed. But in terms of graphics, the game is made on a rather old engine and was designed so that low end devices could run it. If they were to make fancy animations or a lot of details for each character the game would most likely crash as the engine has its limits.
I personally really enjoy the idea of Riot having two artists present Evelynn. Its kinda like two different sides of her shown through different voice lines, and the switches are honestly breathtaking. Anyhow, thank u Rito for all this

I'm just surprised we got so much more new footage that this feels honestly like a solid MV, not just a "hey we know you guys hate not having CG, so we whipped up some stuff". This is by all standards a full MV and if someone completely ignorant of League of K/DA watches it, they'd think it's just an animated music video by some artists.
