The best part about this music video is that they didn't just grab scenes from the series and stuck them together like most companies do, nope, they actually made new scenes and material just for this music video, adding to the entire story.
Dedication. They really went all out and I love it. they didn't handle it like one silly animation project or video game adaption. They knew LoL fans have been asking for years for some kind of animated show. They knew messing up in any way would break their necks big time so they really put so god dang passion and attention to detail in everything from start to finish. Honestly it's amazing and way up there in what I consider the golden standard for animation shows now

I love the fact that Arcane is all about everyone's personal war, losses, betrayals, stories. There is no good nor completely bad side. Everyone lives with his own contradictions. This song is perfect for this story and for this steam punk environment.

It's the core thing Jinx always wanted her sister to understand but she never did. You can't just erase everything Jinx became, she can't just become Powder again. When Silco told her he loved her the way she is it was exactly what she always wanted to hear.

didn't recycle everything from the actual series in making this music video (except for the Krug scene, but it was changed in Arcane). I mean, they really gave effort in creating separate animations just for this

This slaps so much harder after having watched the first act of Arcane.
Edit: After having finished the entire first season, I've been able to observe how the show and this music video make each other better. Many of the images shown in this video reveal more about the story. We see how the firelights cherished by Powder in her youth became a weapon developed by Jinx and the namesake of Ekko's Firelights. In the show, we only get to see Vi eating at Jericho's shop after her release from Stillwater Prison, but we can see her and the rest of her adopted family eating together in their youth in this video. In the show, we only see the young Ekko as a friend of Powder's adopted family, but the portrayal of Powder and Ekko in this music video shines a brighter light on what they meant to each other in their childhood, making the meaning of their fight in Act III much deeper. This is a great example of how the art of the 21st century often manifests itself in multiple genres simultaneously, all of which build upon each other.

This is really cool cause the music video sheds light on how Jinx and Ekko bonded together when they were younger- it kinda shed more light and depth to Ekko's voiceline which is pretty amazing.

The animation for this video and Arcane in general is just so good... The way they animated Vi's punching lesson here and Powder trying to mimic it badly is so good, the way she just throws her arms while Vi is using his whole body to throw in her punches is so good. So much detail. I'm still amazed by how good Arcane is.
Look at who Vi is teaching to fight. The blonde and the one right-most end up working for Silco and against Vander and his family. The other 3 strangers, the one with a mean look and the one with the black tattoo/birth mark, and the one on the wall, I think I've seen them before but can't exactly place them. I think they also turned out to work against Vi. Such a heart-breaking detail.

@@aurweon Not sure, but I just checked the first fight Vi and the troupe get into at ep 1. The one with the mean look is with the blonde fighting against Vi and the troupe, and the blonde at the time was on his first mission working for Silco. Still not certain about the other 2 strangers.
That's one thing I loved about Arcane in general, everybody moved like they knew how to fight with their fight style, brawlers fought much more scrappy than those with formal training, gunslingers and marksmen were more calculated in their moves, the weapons very obviously had mass to them, and you could see the fighter's thought processes and what they were feeling as they fought, or as I like to call it all of that combined, their unique combat language.

@@mike7546 @Mike tbf most of the love goes into contractors. Everyone take note that the animation is made by studio fortiche who has worked with Riot for many years.
And they've worked with dozens of musicians at this point, if not hundreds. They've been making incredible orchestral pieces since nearly the beginning. If you can find it the making of the freljord event in 2013 is a good watch.

This is literally my favorite song at the moment and my favorite tv series. The ending after the rapping is just the best bit in literally any song and they put so much effort into this. this is an absolute masterpiece
Vi's boxing stance and combo's are actually really clean. It's not often an animation team gets that right. Definitely mocapped from a boxer with great orthodox form.

They made Jinx a very complex character in this series. That "dinner" scene was just beautiful. At first i thought Silco only used Jinx to further his agenda, but in the end turned out he really did loves her as his own daughter. This is a dilemma for her because she gotta chose betwen Vi or Silco whose both of them cared so deeply with Powder/Jinx.
Also the Silco scene with the Vander's statue. He realized that his "brother" were right after all.
Vi want her to be Powder again, Silco want her to stay as Jinx.
When Powder killed Silco, Jinx kills Powder.
@@Shangalarx Honesty I just think it's just Powder honoring Silco's last wish. That her turning into Jinx made her perfect, and that she shouldn't try to be the person she was before. Everyone changes, Ekko even said that.
When you feel sympathetic towards the villain, you know the writers are good. In Act 3 i was actually rooting for Silco. They made him human dan 3 dimensional character instead of soulless evil.
Is not as simple as X made Jinx. It was a mix. Zaun's life style made Jinx, the death of her parents at early age made Jinx, Piltovers oppression and corruption made Jinx, Powder accidently killing her friends made Jinx, Vi abandoning her made Jinx, Silco's education made her Jinx, Singed experiment just made all the former even worst, and she struggle to think straight even more than she did before. Jinx was a product of many ingredients that happened to shape Powder into a chaotic, unpredictable and mentally unstable character.
I only saw this music video recently after watching the series and it adds so much more context and insight into the relationships among the kids. There is so much hardship growing up in the Undercity, the constant threat of police brutality, the pressures of poverty, but there are times when they’re able to smile and laugh and play, times when they’re just kids who’ve adapted to their environment for better or worse. Having to grow up tough, resourceful, sly, breaking rules, being targeted and profiled is something many who live in ghettos and underserved neighborhoods can very much relate to. The authorities don’t see you as anything but a future problem and treat you as such. And Powder not being as hard-hitting as Vi, as fast or as nimble as Mylo, nor as immediately successful with her tech like Ekko. It left her feeling like she was the runt and dragging down the group, and thus the fear of being left behind/abandoned/forgotten makes much more sense. It also hints that Vi has had a problem with her temper before, though it’s unclear if she’s ever outright hit Powder before the cannery.
There is also the adorable posturing of Ekko and Powder, being kids exuding the “you can’t mess with us, we’re so cool and gangster” bravado that is clearly them mimicking the gangs and thugs that would be common in the Lanes, the “big kids” and grown ups who make their point with intimidation and effortless stylish menace. In the show Powder goes on to subtly copy some of Silco’s tricks as Jinx, impressionable girl that she is. You adopt what is effective to keep yourself from being messed with.
Also 1:04 That’s Ran, one of Silco’s henchmen! And I think Deckard too. So they knew the kids pretty well before the events of the show.
It’s canon now, we officially have imagine dragons as characters in league of legends.
Can't wait to kill them with my AP ROCK.

Watching this after seeing Arcane is so cool. They show Vi teaching everyone a few moves just like Ekko mentions in the show. You see the kids actually being kids. You see that Deckard and crew were actually friends that become thugs. You see the tension develop between the kids and the enforcers. You see Jinx doing her signature finger gun. You see Powder's trauma developing. And omg that pillow fight! So much development in just a short music video. Brilliant.
When I clicked on this video I really thought that they were just going to take clips and scenes from the series, but they actually made an animation exclusively for this music video. Insanely good!
It just goes to show their commitment and how much they actually care about these things rather than it all being about the money like other larger companies have taken to.

The sickest thing about this track is that it reminds me of all of the ID classics; believer, warriors, radioactive, demons, the tracks you could play in any public space in the mid 2010's and nearly everyone would sing along... this one fits right in somehow.

My expectations for this show were so low but for anyone who has not seen it, and I have never played league of legends either, it is absolutely incredible. Something not enough people are talking about is how insane the soundtrack was too!! If you have not watched Arcane yet, PLEASE do so! You will not regret it!

They have essentially unlimited lore already existing, so only adaptation is required and as to the animation, Riot employs very experienced animators and has a clear outline for their animation style and unlimited budget

After watching Arcane, have you noticed that NONE of the shots where in the series? I thought just the scenes in the bar and the rap part was custom made for the MV, but Riot & Fortiche just gave us so much more perspective on everyday gang life in this MV. Normally you don´t get canon slice of life moments in a serious show, so i´m very happy they did it this way.
My explanation is because most of the shots are just mad Jinx’s imagination, just look at 1:05, how can their enemies sit together with them

Seeing Powder and Ekko training together after what happened in the series is just heart breaking, this video hits so hard after watching Arcane.

Arcane is gonna leave an empty space in my heart when it's over, i've always been obsessed with the universe riot created and seeing it come to life in the series is something wonderful it took champs lore even deeper and made us emotionally attached to them.
