For those who don’t understand: According to the k/da comic, Ahri was a solo artist under a very strict agency, forced to put out a message that she was just another cutesy popstar (Popstar Ahri), think like one of the big three of Kpop. Hope that shed some light onto the whole video a bit better.
So she spent her whole life chasing a pop star dream and now that she has it she realizes that it isn't all that she imagined it would be. Now she's stuck in this image of what everyone thinks she should be.
I've read the KDA comics and I think that's what Ahri felt before KDA. A popstar being used for corporate greed not allowing her to do what she really loves, writing and singing her own songs. That's why she and Evelyn started KDA.
Nah this is what she was like pre-KDA. She got what she thought her dream was , but ended up feeling more restricted than ever. But she’s saying that she didn’t need the whole studio she was bought for, and she can do this music thing without a big company. Hence the main line “I’ll show you what I’m made of”. And this is her referring to her and Evelyn starting K/DA without the support of a giant company to make them popular
The way Riot developed Ahri's character is deep. When you actually understand the lyrics you see that Riot is telling you that Ahri is not the happy popstar girl people see. Just like with real people, Ahri hides her real feelings behind a mask of fun but if you really listen you'll catch on to how she really feels. Riot is developing each character even further past their original in-game personas.
Ahri is like that idol that had been a kpop trainee for years and being judged for being pretty with no talent but then finally debut in the right group with BANGERZ
Or maybe like Tzuyu from TWICE. She's successful and obviously talented, but all everyone talks about is her looks, and so Tzuyu works hard to rise above that.

I've read the KDA comics and I think that's what Ahri felt before KDA. A popstar being used for corporate greed not allowing her to do what she really loves, writing and singing her own songs. That's why she and Evelyn started KDA.
Nah this is what she was like pre-KDA. She got what she thought her dream was , but ended up feeling more restricted than ever. But she’s saying that she didn’t need the whole studio she was bought for, and she can do this music thing without a big company. Hence the main line “I’ll show you what I’m made of”. And this is her referring to her and Evelyn starting K/DA without the support of a giant company to make them popular

The way Riot developed Ahri's character is deep. When you actually understand the lyrics you see that Riot is telling you that Ahri is not the happy popstar girl people see. Just like with real people, Ahri hides her real feelings behind a mask of fun but if you really listen you'll catch on to how she really feels. Riot is developing each character even further past their original in-game personas.
Story wise: Isn't Ahri using her beauty and magic to charm mens in order to consume their happines and soul ? Also she kills them after.

I love the concept of this song too, I believe she's talking about insecurities, fears and things that try to stop her from living her dream but she doesn't give up.
