  • This is a video of the Cabin View Bird Hide at Clough Head with Siskins and other bird species.
Clough Head has a modest little picnic site and is just off the B6232 Blackburn to Haslingden road in Lancashire. The postcode is BB4 4AT.
The site now has a newly-installed bird hide. It is very well equipped for the bird watcher; as well as for keen photographers.
It is becoming increasing well-known by people in bird photography circles, so I’d expect to see shots from here getting a lot more publicity across TH-cam and other vlogging channels.
On today's visit we saw and filmed blackbirds, blue tits, chaffinch, coal tits, goldfinch, great tits, jay, nuthatch, robins and a whole flock of siskins.
The hide has fully openable observation windows, which give you uninterrupted views of the birds on the feeders, aswell as a number of reflection pool so you can get amazing shots of birds bathing from close-range. The area around the hide is regularly refreshed with new vegetation and foods; so there is always some new photograph to take and some new birds to see. The is a private members group on facebook for the hide, but it still worth making a trip to see what is showing; and to see if membership could be worthwhile for you and the birds in the area.
