Spa Man, thanks for your videos. What are your thoughts on bonding the Balboa controller pack to the pumps using non-insulated 8 guage wire. From what I've read it is not REQUIRED, but would it hurt to bond them to the controller using the grounding bus on the outside of the controller box? Thank you

That is the way it is done with almost all of the hot tubs I see.I would not myself go any smaller then #6 wire because that is the only size wire that I use. Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

Will the balboa accommodate #4 wire? I bought a 20ft swimspa the hot tub requires 50amp and poolside requires 60amp. I ran # for the poolside .

For jacuzzis that dont require a neutral, do they still require a ground fault circuit breaker with a neutral pigtail? If so, is the neutral pigtail still connected in the panel? Thanks!

    Hi SpaMan.
My board blew on my old 2008 Vitaspa. Noit sure why, but It had a 3 wire 30 amp power supply line w/ 10 guage wire...I found a Spa control pack on ebay, but its a 4 wire 40 amp board. Is that something I can hook up to this without changing the line to a 4 wire or changing the breaker?? How do you hook up a 3 wire line (L1 L2 G) to a 4 Wire Spa board? What do you do with the Neutral connection for the board if you don't have a wire for it?

Thanks for your videos! We are getting a Master Spa 7.25 which calls for a 50 amp four wire. We are already set up with a 60 amp breaker on the main panel and a 60 amp GFI in the spa panel with all 6 ga wire. Is it total fine to run the new tub with this set up or should I replace the 60's for 50's to be totally safe? Thanks!

My electrician did not use a black wire what he did he used 2 red wires but inside spa pack he marked one of the wires with black tape but inside of gcf breaker box he did not mark one of the red wires in their so I don't know which one is black and which one is red. Does it matter?

could you spend more time on the Balboa 54381 I seriously dont mind venmo you for services or advice . i got a customer wired it themselves and fried 2 boards i believe he wired the same . On the board between its a viking VKV502 its burnt on the board between w7and the slow blow fuse .

I would need to see how it is wired...
The fact that two boards have been fried tells me it is wired wrong. in cases like this I always start with the main checking wiring / breaker then move on to sub disconnect and again make sure everything is wired correct then move on to the pack
In the pack I would disconnect every thing
I have ways in the field to check motors and I would check them first to make sure they are good.
The fact that two boards fried tells me something was done wrong.
Hope this Helps Feel free to call the office and talk to Scott to see his thoughts. Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

@@spaman5440 Thank you for the help , I agree what i can tell is they mis identified the plug for the pump2 he landed it on the Circ pump not the Pump2 the spa does not have the optional Circ pump installed.
so it had to have been the issue. Im going to ohm out the motors and see if they are dead short or open , but yes i ordered him a new board to replace the other 2 he burnt up . Thank you again i hope others can benefit of these comments.
