Thanks for the comment. I had 7idea Productions produce this video with footage he and I took for the 2012 Train Mountain Triennial Video. Aaron at 7idea does a great job on all the videos he produces, and since he spent many years as a radio personality he is a great narrator.
Train Mountain (at lat. 42.55741 lon. -121.88707) is half way between Klamath Falls, Oregon and Crater Lake National Park. The small City of Chiloquin, Oregon, is just to the east of Train Mountain. Located between and with access from both US Hwy 97 and Oregon Hwy 62. There is a Sleep In motel at the Klamoya Casino which is about 3 miles from TM, and also lots of B&Bs in the area. Klamath Falls is 26 miles south of TM and has lots of motels.
So they don't honour boiler certificates from other clubs? That's a shame, because the hydro test can take a long time and it's standard practice in most places to honour any boiler certificate from any club that hasn't expired yet.
I saw a WHOLE BUNCH of people NOT FLAGGING AT ALL! One joker stopped on the mainline at COLTON; the steepest downgrade but with 2 sidings! He stopped so his little boy could run their train. NO FLAG! My "NICE FLAGGING" comment was met with a "My little boy wanted to drive". It was about this point I said NUTS TO THIS: loaded up my trains and went home! Too many BRAIN-DEAD people out there paying more attention to their little BRATS than to the safety of others including themselves!
It goes to show that even extensive learning sessions might not help. But you are right, someone could at least have gone back to flag other trains, or, to make more sense, pull into a siding.
Fantastically produced video with great information.

Interesting, I remember watching this video in the hall of flags from when I visited the 2009 Triennial.

It is an early british "Invicta" locomotive.
At 1.09 minutes into the video, there is an old steam model, can someone tell me the name of the train engine? Thanks
I have been asking around at Train Mountain, and no one seems to have an answer to your question. Most believe that it is a homemade one-of-a-kind.
