I have a 2017 X3. I can tell you it's a great vehicle. Tons of room inside, comfortable, handles very well, good on gas. Easy to park as you have great sightlines all around the vehicle. Terrific in winter climates. I can't really think of anything I don't like about it.
Thank you for the vote of confidence as I bought a low mileage 2018 xDrive30i 2 months ago. Took a while to find one with Driver Assist Package PLUS, i.e., actually has the ACC function. Very happy with purchase thus far, and your fine contrast/comparison keeps the first-time buyer's remorse at bay!
It really is the perfect size for most needs. But there may be people out there who want more space. The X3 has a very deceiving design to make it appear larger than it is. Side by side, it is practically the same size as my wife's Rav4. No joke. And the boot space is somewhat limited because of that. I went camping this past weekend and the cargo area was jam packed with stuff and we only had 2 medium size coolers, a small grill, 2 bags of misc items, and one small luggage. I absolutely LOVE my X3 and no buyer's remorse from me. But, I see that X5 on the road and I'm like hmmmmmmm.... lol
@@ChristianC-gy1ymthank you, 6 years later and that exactly what i was thinking. it looks big enough to justify cheaping out vs going with a x5, but since you said that i’ll be sticking with the x5
Really enjoying my new X3. I agree with the assessment. Not necessarily the best in any category, but very good in all areas. It is a really well rounded vehicle. I agree too with many comments regarding add ons - they add up quickly and if more were inclusive the BMW would be a real stand out. The BMW idrive with the touch screen is absolutely best in class and that in itself could sway a buyer to buy this over competitors.
0:42 Flashback: For 2014 model year, BMW announced a significant design change: the kidney grill was touching the headlamps, unlike the 2013 model where there was a space between the grill and the lamps.
This X3 M40i and the X4 M40i version are a hoot and a half to drive.. Even if you don't buy it, drive it. Ended up buying a pickup truck for practical reasons, but if i was going to buy an SUV this one wins hands down.. Room, handling acceleration are all impressive.
I really like the X3 and would choose it over any of its competitors. Now let's wait and see what the new RDX has to offer. Can't wait to see that review.
I just cross shopped the Lexus NX, Q5, and the GLC and leased a RWD GLC300. The base GLC being RWD was the best value and the determining factor for me living in Florida.
Great review as usual Alex. The main thing that frustrates me with this gen's X3 is that they launch this car with iDrive 6 than less than a year later the new X5 comes out with the iDrive 7. While you can argue X5 is a different class, the same interior goes into the new 3 series as well. If BMW doesn't update the X3's interior during the LCI, we're looking at a very dated interior (for BMW) for the next 5 years or more... It's not that iDrive 7 is leap years ahead in terms of features, but as a consumer knowing you're a generation behind is not a good feeling.
Just drove the exact same car but without adaptive suspension (it had fixed suspension damping) and I must say, it rides beautifully. Potholes and bumps are dispatched softly, without any wallowy feeling. And it corners like a sedan that is lower to the road. You can save money by not opting for adaptive suspension. But in terms of design, the base or luxury line X3 isn't that great looking (not ugly though, just not as good as it can) . You need to get M Sport kit and 20 inch rims before it starts looking really good. The 2.0 turbo felt sprightly enough for daily use. Can't imagine what the M40i would feel like. All in all, a very good all rounder vehicle. Drives like a 5 Series and is almost as quiet. But with more boot space and higher ride. The only thing that can be better (among the Germans) is a 5 Series Touring. But you only get that in Europe I suppose.
2019 X3 x30i is my choice. Thanks for an excellent review. Was able to save $8,000 off MSRP as well. Love it after the first 1,500 miles. Averaging 27.6 mpg mostly highway miles. Handling is very good. Not my M240i but very good.
Excellent review! I had thought of RDX but after seeing this review, it makes it much easier to zero in into my choice in the first place. This X3. Thank you!

Salvatore Ciraolo Good point, but most people who cross shop SUV's at these price points have the disposable income to buy or lease the M40i. Those who don't have the disposable income will find themselves at their local Hyundai or Toyota dealership.
I previously owned a 2015 X3 and looked at this one. Up here in Canada, anyway, it's SO much more expensive than it was in 2015. I'd be looking at almost C$70k for for a 30i with the adaptive suspension (including the required M-sport pack, and the middle tier Premium package). Makes the C$54k fully loaded Acura RDX hard to ignore.
Rented a brand new XC60 T5 for a week. I was planning on buying one, but was convinced otherwise after the extended test drive. Car had rattles from the start and I thought the build quality was a step below the Germans. Engine was very unrefined sounding(but got the job done fine).
Perfect review. Tells me everything i need to know about the car in the daily life. But as a German i only can advise against buying a BMW or any premium brand as a new car. I compared a few models and this one find out that the €uro price (53.000€) are SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the U$ dollar price (43.000$ ~ 34.600€) they charge for this car. (Exchange rate included). So for buyers living in Europe i advise only buy them used or lease them but i personally would never spend 50.000€+ for a base X3 (xDrive30) without any extras...it's just not worth it that much. Car is nice but i think i will take the 5 series sedan (G30) with M-Package. This X3 doesn't look like a huge improvement to my old F30 3 series. Especially the interior space is ridiculously tight for such a big body.
I'm currently cross shopping against XC60. I own a S90 Inscription T6 (this would be for the wife), and while the XC60 is an easy pick, I wanted to see what the rest in the segment looked and felt like. I rented a Q5 for a few days during vacation earlier this year and it was absolutely gutless. The handling was okay, off-road was very confident (the tires were excellent, so I know most of the performance is attributable to the tires), the seats were good enough for extended road trips, but not nearly as comfortable as my S90 Inscription (those seats are truly next level), but all around the transmission was less than admirable when dealing with 3 point turns or other tight parking situations (combination trip of Portland, OR and Seattle, WA). Mileage was quite excellent though. The infotainment was pretty easy to get along with (admittedly much easier than Sensus in my Volvo. Now it's perfectly fine, but when I first purchased the car it definitely required at least half an hour to get accustomed to and I work in I.T.), so that was a plus. It's not something I think I would want to purchase. I also looked up how to change the battery in the Q5 and it apparently is stored *under* the driver seat, which can take a couple hours, or a couple hundred if you have the stealership do it. I really like the A5/S5 and was hoping the Q5 performed similarly in proportion to the A5, but I was sorely let down. About to test drive an X3 today or tomorrow and based on my research it seems like I'm on the right track with the comparison of the Volvo and the BMW. Kind of amazing since I thought I'd never own a BMW due to historical reliability issues, but most seem to say they haven't had any issues with the X3, and we keep up with regular maintenance and don't beat our cars to death, so I'm curious how it'll turn out. I love my Volvo, but it'll be nice to have something a little different in the driveway so we don't get too bored!
@@ryanshannon7703 My X3 was a lease so got rid of it earlier this year. Only had one issue that ended up being a recall fix but was fine. It drove so well being rear drive biased as opposed to FWD like the XC60.
@@MacSaab93 I test drove it late last week and it felt very good. I was actually rather impressed with how well put together everything seemed to be. It's easily a solid pick for that class of vehicle.
I just test drove this car last week. It is a nice car, but decided against it and the Volvo. I went for massive value instead. Found out that GM is updating the Buick Envision moving from a 6 speed transmission to a 9 speed. Sure it is not quite as luxurious, and it is not quite as good to drive (but Hyperstrut helps out quite a bit on the top Premium trim level). But for a fully loaded model for $20K less than the BMW (only because the 2019 is coming out in May) I could not justify paying that much more for a car that is better - but not so much better.
If you do care about the fastest car in the accident avoidance test, decent acceleration (0-60 in 7 seconds), the ability to have Amazon deliver packages to your car (only GM and Volvo can do this), discounted comfortable luxury (sure not as good as Europeans, but good enough), a quieter interior than the Europeans, and less depreciation than any of the European imports it is a great buy.
If you are curious about the Amazon delivery only available to GM and Volvo, click here: smile.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=17051031011&ref_=pe_2503690_282137480_pmwn_4.28_key
Really good and comprehensive review, thank you. I liked the detailed way you described the main dash functions and the comparison with class competitors. Some really good vehicles in this class, but the X3 would probably be my pick. It's strong in nearly all areas and it has that extra dash of dynamics and sportines that appeals to me.
I see a Goldilocks theme with BMW crossovers: the X7 may be too big (and expensive), the X3 may be too small (in terms of features and value), but the X5 might be juuuuuuuust right!
Great review. I tried XC60 and X3. The X3 is much better for rear comfort and room as the Volvo's front seat anchors are so big that advantage of lower tunnel and more hypothetical legroom are negated. The middle passage has to spread their legs wide and encroach on the other passengers. Also infotainment system much easier to use in the BMW. GLC was narrower the back and felt less spacious up front as windshield is much closer to the driver's face.
Alex, I don't understand how your top picks include the Volvo and GLC to compare with the X3? In your previous Audi Q5 video, you picked the Q5 as your top pick, particularly in low and mid trims. How did the GLC rise over the Q5 now? I would take the Q5 and X3 as top picks for the same money.
I am torn on the Q5. It’s a very good value and a very strong competitor, but the GLC I think is a better vehicle overall, except that you pay a premium for it. The Audi and Volvo are excellent values, the X3 is very very well rounded.
Alex on Autos Thanks for your reply Alex. I love your videos and highly respect your opinions. I'm torn between the Q5 and the X3, but leaning toward the Q5 for various reasons including my perception of better reliability and cost of ownership. The GLC is too expensive for me. There are great choices with all of these cars. Thanks again!
Alex on Autos Alex, After test driving the X3, I really like it and having a hard time deciding between it and the Audi Q5. I'm looking at the highest trim Prestige for the Q5 to get driver assistance and top view camera. Both of these loaded SUV's have MSRP of around $57K. For the same money, would you take the X3 over the Q5? I think for lower trim levels, the Audi has a better value, but the X3 competes well price wise in the upper trims. What is your advice? Thanks!
We finally decided on ordering the X3 over the Q5 and got it for less money nearly fully loaded. In side by side comparisons of tech features and handling, the BMW X3 simply wins out on most things (Idrive, HUD, 3D Camera, cargo layout, handling, etc). The one thing Audi has on everyone is their virtual cockout. They are both fantastic vehicles however, but looking forward to the X3.
The SQ5 has optional air suspension ans is the perfect mix between sportiness, handling and comfort. I drove the X3 40 and although quicker, it's considerably stiffer and harsh.
It does but it does not use the air suspension in the same way that the Volvo and Mercedes do, the SQ5 is more focused on performance while the other two are focused on comfort.
Apple only, although my product specialist told me that a software update to support Android Auto might be coming. That said... I don't think either are worth it. The tech is still in juvenile stage. You can play your music from your phone via bluetooth, send/read texts, make calls, etc. The only real advantage is that you can use your phone's navigation system in the case that you dislike your car's native version. But believe me, the X3's nav system is prime. Oh by the way, even without Apple Carplay the X3 has a phone mirroring system so that you can literally watch Netflix or TH-cam or whatever you do on your phone, it'll be mirrored right onto the car's display. But video only works while parked :)
Yeah, just apple CarPlay, but I will say with the bmw connected drive app(which is awesome) you dont miss anything. I can sent my calendar functions and locations to the vehicle very seamlessly and haven't felt like I've missed anything lacking the android auto...
The Apple Carplay in the 2018 X3 is $300 for 20 years. Not sure if there is a "forever" option, but there is one youtube video showing how to purchase the option from the car for "$300 for 20 years". However, as of the 2019 model year, BMW is moving to a sucky and unbelievably mind-boggling subscription scheme: $80 per year (from day 1). As others have said, carplay really isn't necessary, though. Also note that carplay cannot show directions and graphics through the optional heads-up display. The BMW nav can, and that's a big mark against getting carplay.
Such a solid review. I’m with You, my two picks are the same, XC60 and X3. The XC60 is better looking and more comfortable but I hate its computer navigation system. BMW is not as comfortable but I love the iDrive and the drive handling. If the Volvo had iDrive, it would be top dog for me.
The sensus navigation is just unnecessarily complicated. Well, not complicated, just precise regarding the input. I hate using it. The speech recognition isn't brilliant, either. Now, with AA connected it's such a breeze I almost forget the native interface exists and I'm glad Volvo is moving to have Android OS as their default interface. The Volvo has what I would consider a design that ages *very well*. It's so classic that it'll look great way beyond what most cars have. I think Benz has the worst time with this. Are the seats in the X3 more comfortable than in the Q5? The Q5 seats were okay. Not great, not terrible. It's definitely an unfair comparison against my S90 Inscription, though.
Great review. I really like the look and performance of the new x3 but prefer the GLC based on interior looks. Outside looks is a wash between the two.
Alex, I need some clarification on your rating system for noise. Both the 2017 CRV and the 2017 CX-5 measured 70 decibels at 50 mph in your testing. Yet, the CRV scored an "A" while the CX5 scored an "A-". Was this an oversight or is there an explanation? Further, if the CRV and the CX5 score "A" and "A-", respectively, should the X3 be scoring an "A" for noise, considering it is an entry luxury/luxury vehicle?
As always, I appreciate this review with its intelligence and thoroughness. But in both this review and many others, I do wonder though about your attachment to Volvo. I've not heard you mention the loud and horrible sound of those over-stressed two-liter engines, and I do not recall mention of the terrible reliability that contemporary Volvos seem to have. And I should also mention the infotainment, which is small-buttoned, touch-screen-only affair that is, I think, very dangerous to use while driving. I know that you like the aesthetics of the Volvo, as do I, but is that really enough?
Once Lincoln brings out an all new MC and Nautilus those will be my go to recommendations in the segment. They are crushing it with the Navigator and Aviator. I'll also be curious to see what Genesis does in this segement. $54k - Leather and nav optional, really...
The leather option just means you are paying for high quality leather vs standard leather. Cloth seats aren't available in this vehicle. But I could be wrong. It was that way at least with the M40i... Speaking of the M40i, the delta between a fully optioned 2 liter turbo vs a comparable M40i is less than 10 grand. I believe it was around 6 grand... (and yes, this vehicle is worth checking all the boxes for). So I really don't see the reason why anyone would opt for a well optioned 2 liter turbo when they can pay a little more and get the M40i. There are 2 ways to have this SAV. One, get a bare essentials 2 liter turbo if all you're looking for is a solid commuter/family hauler. Or two, pull the trigger on the M40i and have some fun :)
Lincoln and Cadillac compare very well to the European entrants but most buyers are blinded by the name. Don’t understand why he only talks about the same few. I have an MKC and I think it puts this car to shame for the money.
Alex tested it with BMW adapted suspension, and didn't test the same on the audi, need to always compare apples to apples, sorry but audi is more free cabin noise than BMW, and the seats are more comfortable also
It looks like you had the safety settings set to (and left them in) Individual mode for your time with it. I'm curious what you turned off or changed versus "All On".
I feel Mercedes still hasn't gotten a grasp on an intuitive infotainment system like iDrive. And the design language is really messed up, I know most automakers are making most of their lineup look the same but for Mercedes, it kind of ruins the aura of luxury when your E Class is looking like a C Class looking like a CLA Class...
Alex, Is the dynamic handling package or adaptive damping worth it? We're mostly concerned about a comfortable ride and wondering if the ride is adequate with the normal suspension?
I contacted Consumer Reports to ask their opinion on whether the dynamic handling package with adaptive damping is worth the extra $1400 and they told me that they wouldn't pay extra money for this. They said that this vehicle handles and drives so well that it isn't needed unless someone plans to drive very aggressively. CR, by the way, rates the X3 as the #1 compact luxury SUV. We have ordered a 2019 X3 and decided not to pay for this package, though I would definitely get it if I were buying an M-Sport BMW.
I am looking at buying the 2019 X3 m40i! I just am shock at the MSRP that my buy order $68K plus $1K for shipping. Then there is sales tax, registration, year insurance other fees and I looking at final outlay of $75K! And I am leaving out a couple of packages out of the price too!
I bought the X3 last month. Mileage to date is over 1600 miles, I got an overall 29mpg (most of the mileage was highway on a long road trip). If I was doing it again, I would take the run flat tires and not lose space with the spare tire; also I would not get a trailer hitch, in two minds about Apple Play - like some aspects, not others. Comfort and handling is top notch. Very roomy passenger compartment but luggage space is not that great.
The 2.0l 4 cylinder in the X3 is a great engine. Can't speak for the longevity of newer BMW turbos but I have a 2012 BMW N57 engine with two turbo-chargers and they're still going strong at 100,000+ miles
Really love this car, really want to lease a new one, but hesitate due to it’s reliability. Have had 2 friends who owned X 1 and the car just stop working in the mid of the road. No matter how much warranty it covers but if the car stop in the middle of the road for some electrical issue, that’s bad.
Have a 2012 X5 with 100,000 miles, has yet to leave me stranded. Haven't replaced a thing except oil, brake pads, rotors, tires, wiper blades, and a door handle that I wrecked, Ooops.
You can find any brand that has vehicles with issues. I happened to have owned Toyota and Acura that both had rare issues. Toyota had an engine issue at like 50 or 60k miles which is almost unheard of. Acura had transmission problem (that's a bit more common) and required a rebuild at 90k miles. I don't drive my vehicles hard or anything, just bad luck in my case.
Love my x3m40i, would like to see you drive the loaded m40i with all the stuff, this one you drove looks like it was about half equipped. (Had the non full led cluster, did not appear to have the adaptive Led lights, traffic assist,etc... I will agree against the sq5, a former VAG fanboy, they just didn't hold a candle to the performance or handling of the x3 and felt heavy and sluggish
It cracks me up when reviewers say that it is hard to tell the old from the new model. If your any kind of car person, no it really isn’t hard to tell the old X3 from the new. And if your not a car person, I guess as long as it has the twin kidney grill and 4 wheels, it doesn’t matter.
It is hard to tell, unless you are someone who owns one... or someone who is interested and just following it. I consider myself a car enthusiast but sometimes it's hard to see what the updates are on certain cars whenever they get a facelift. Especially if I'm not really interested in that particular car.
웅이 I gotcha. On this particular model, the old X3 had shallower headlights, and they connected to the grill. Also, the old had a skinnier overall stance, with angles, and the new is beefier, curvier, wider and taller grill. It is maybe not as obvious as I said, but maybe my head is just filled with useless information, as my wife has claimed?
The new X3 rides a bit firmer. Even with the suspension set to its softest setting, it still feels firm. It handles light off road duties, like driving on gravel roads, really well. But most modern cars do.
Audi and BMW are VERY firm seats...too firm. Good for sport I guess, but tough on less beefy hind-ends like mine. Maybe okay for fatter people with multiple hind-ends?

X3 for life! 😍😍😍😍
As always VERY informative, Alex! 👏🏾
Nice video! I always appreciate your grading and comparison section
Just got a 2018 X3 and love. Cross-shopped it against the GLC and Volvo and liked it the best. Was actually cheaper than the Volvo too!
@@ryanshannon7703 Good to hear that. You'd also be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't test drive a Genesis GV70 as well. It's amazing.
one of the best car reviewers up today
please review range rover sport and velar...!!!!
Love the comparisons Alex. Great job.
If you don't care about handling, braking, acceleration, refinement, luxury, style, or resale, I'm sure it's a fine choice.
Great review, the X3 is an excellent vehicle in many respects.
Aside from Driven Cars Review, you have the best reviews :) Excellent video!
I see a Goldilocks theme with BMW crossovers: the X7 may be too big (and expensive), the X3 may be too small (in terms of features and value), but the X5 might be juuuuuuuust right!
I test drove both basic Q5 and basic X3 and I noticed the BMW engine was louder in the cabin than the audi and more comfortable seats
Across the board, from my observations, on all BMW’s the xdrive option is typically $2000
Just bought one. It drives like a bmw but feels like a lexus inside the cabin. if it's reliable as a lexus, it will be top notch.
Anonymous - Nothing is as reliable than Lexus/Toyota.
Excellent review as always... Detailed, concise and very informative. Thank you. BMW x3 m40i it is.
No android auto. I had two BMWs, but definitely getting something else since android auto has become a must have feature for me
Interesingly, the braking distance done by Motorweek of the '18, base model, was 102', vs much higher for you in your test car--massive difference.
The SQ5 has optional air suspension ans is the perfect mix between sportiness, handling and comfort. I drove the X3 40 and although quicker, it's considerably stiffer and harsh.
I agree but could not look past fake exhaust.
For some reason that doesn't bother me at all....
That's how BMWs are designed - firmer ride compared to AUDI or Benz.
It does but it does not use the air suspension in the same way that the Volvo and Mercedes do, the SQ5 is more focused on performance while the other two are focused on comfort.
Are you sure it supports Android Auto? Last time I checked it only has apple carplay
RAY LIN Nope just 🍎
Apple only, although my product specialist told me that a software update to support Android Auto might be coming.
RAY LIN Apple CarPlay is a $300 option and after 3 years requires a subscription.
Cabin noise is good as long as you stay below 75mph. At 75-80mph there's a bit too much wind noise.
Such a solid review. I’m with
You, my two picks are the same, XC60 and X3.
It's definitely an unfair comparison against my S90 Inscription, though.
it would be between the x3 and audi for me.
btw i brought the 2019 x3 last month, didn't even bother looking at the audi after seeing the bmw
Wow, this thing made the honor roll. What are the improvements over the last one though? Seems like it's the same mechanically.
Further, if the CRV and the CX5 score "A" and "A-", respectively, should the X3 be scoring an "A" for noise, considering it is an entry luxury/luxury vehicle?
smartes place for heated steering wheel ever! Very good review as always Mr Alex.
BMW options, options, options. It’s ridiculous.

Blake Swan exactly!
Thank you Alex.. can you please do the Range Rover velar as well just to see where it stands on your list . Thank you !
I do wish they would give a nice tactile feedback that you are in Park ✅
As always, I appreciate this review with its intelligence and thoroughness. But in both this review and many others, I do wonder though about your attachment to Volvo. I've not heard you mention the loud and horrible sound of those over-stressed two-liter engines, and I do not recall mention of the terrible reliability that contemporary Volvos seem to have. And I should also mention the infotainment, which is small-buttoned, touch-screen-only affair that is, I think, very dangerous to use while driving. I know that you like the aesthetics of the Volvo, as do I, but is that really enough?
Great Review as always, and enjoying this slightly new presentation formula Alex. Keep it up!
Please, what model or package does this car have? I like the adjusted transmission button.
It's Vinyl. Or Leatherette, MB-Tex most of them do this.
Lincoln and Cadillac compare very well to the European entrants but most buyers are blinded by the name. Don’t understand why he only talks about the same few. I have an MKC and I think it puts this car to shame for the money.
Hey Alex! Love your channel. What part of the country do you film your videos? Beautiful scenery.

Thank you Stephen :)
Hi Alex, how's the handling and comfort compared to the new Nissan Rogue?
Alex tested it with BMW adapted suspension, and didn't test the same on the audi, need to always compare apples to apples, sorry but audi is more free cabin noise than BMW, and the seats are more comfortable also
It looks like you had the safety settings set to (and left them in) Individual mode for your time with it. I'm curious what you turned off or changed versus "All On".
Wow...great review as always. You just nail it!
Very well done review, as always.
I like the BMW better than the Mercedes. The BMW looks more truck like or man like then the soft round egg look of the Mercedes.
13:40 Yes
Sounds like you're fully loading it, since it starts at 55K. With that said, M40i is indeed pricey.
Cant believe you are listening european music in US Helena Paparzou :)
Put the tonneu in your garage. Don't go places where people steal stuff out of your car the minute they see it.
Alex, is ground clearance measured at a specific point on vehicles?
Reported ground clearance that is.
Thanks.
Hey alex, where you at the San Diego event for the corolla hatchback. love to hear ur review on it soon
Best review ever
Is the BMW better than Mercedes GLC 300?
Anybody have opinions of long term reliability. Like how do they hold up after the warranty exprires
Hi. How good is the turbo in the X3 engine? Longivity? How much to fix or replace the turbo?
The 2.0l 4 cylinder in the X3 is a great engine. Can't speak for the longevity of newer BMW turbos but I have a 2012 BMW N57 engine with two turbo-chargers and they're still going strong at 100,000+ miles
That incandescent front turning signals is an instant turnoff for me. :C
I like the restyle on this generation. Looks like a baby x5 now which is better.
The best...i-drive is the best infotainment system...
My bmw X3 xDrive xline is perfect
As with a luxury car, nothing is standard. Trying to get your BMW to the level of a Kia takes a few grand in options

I don't drive my vehicles hard or anything, just bad luck in my case.
i think this is the one.......
Can you review the discovery sport Alex?
My dream car
BMW has small navigation displays. Very good operation thou.
Love my x3m40i, would like to see you drive the loaded m40i with all the stuff, this one you drove looks like it was about half equipped. (Had the non full led cluster, did not appear to have the adaptive Led lights, traffic assist,etc... I will agree against the sq5, a former VAG fanboy, they just didn't hold a candle to the performance or handling of the x3 and felt heavy and sluggish
sethssd how much you paid for m40i?
Majed Y around 59k
Hey Alex I know that the X3 is as off road worthy as a jeep but how does it feel if you are driving it on a gravel road?
The new X3 rides a bit firmer. Even with the suspension set to its softest setting, it still feels firm. It handles light off road duties, like driving on gravel roads, really well. But most modern cars do.
Great review
This is a no brainer except for seat-comfort. BMWs have never matched Volvo or Audi for seat comfort, IMO.
I think MB/Volvo are the best ones. Not sure why you would think Audi seats are more comfortable.
Audi and BMW are VERY firm seats...too firm. Good for sport I guess, but tough on less beefy hind-ends like mine. Maybe okay for fatter people with multiple hind-ends?
Please stop complaining about the rear cover storage. The manufacturer may start leaving out the spare then you will complain about that!
