I ordered a new screen thinking how hard could this be. I found your channel and ten minutes later it was fixed. Although my laptop is NO 15.6 AY043wm it is the same configuration inside. I am a happy camper

My display was broken and the two pieces that holds the screen and the bottom of the laptop. Only one of them were broken. But now that I see I can replace this on my own. Thank you, It works now. I was near the end of my warrenty this was a lifesaver. Things went ok but it reminded me of wiring a car stereo in the dark. "My Model" of HP has the 32pin Plug on the right side and would not reach the new screen. The jack on the new screen was at a angle but the cord was short . I ended up pulling part of the Video cord out of the laptop housing so it would reach and there was struggle to get things well plugged in (stiff plug). I always seem to get the hard ones but it Does work fine and secured it well with clear tape. First boot the computer had to identify the new monitor. second boot was slow but it loaded homescreen and worked.

It strikes me that PC manufacturers don't all have a screen manufacturing plant, so I;d guess that they buy screens from somebody who makes them It wouldn't surprise me if there are only a couple of screen manufacturers in the world. In that case, can I use the matt screen (same size, of course) from a different kind of laptop - or are there differences in mnufacture between laptop types?

Hi. All you have to do is go to ebay or Amazon, search for screen using model number of laptop. 15-ay013nr. Dale. Edit.....best way is to remove old screen and use model number of screen on the back side if screen.

They charge that much cause they can, ya know. Typical screen replacement in my shop averages around 130 bucks.

Best way is to remove the screen, use the model number on backside of screen to order new one. Ebay or Amazon will have the screen.

Nope. Just called HP with the same issue, warranty doesn’t cover it unless you have an accidental protection plan.

Without seeing it I cant say for sure. You probably have a broken screen.

as long as it's the same size and the same pin, you should be okay.
How to know of what type or size of hp lcd will I buy?

What to do if you accidentally stripped the the screws while taking them out?
Well if you stripped out the screw head, try going to a local computer repair shop. I'm sure they would give you 4 new screws.
