Science fiction literature and movies have prognosticated our technological dilemma many years ago. I always shiver when I see the battle scenes in the terminator movies, knowing that we are on the doorstep of this kind of scenario.
Man is so technologically smart, yet so stupid when it comes to the outcome and fallout of the use of the technology

to be fair most sci-fi author have barely any knowledge of technologie a good example is isaac asimov 3 laws of robotics which dont make sense for AI.

We need either severe restrictions or an outright ban on this stuff, because we humans are far too stupid to use it responsibly.
Lol. Get real. Ban means Nothing. China, Russia...etc will simply not obey the ban. Whoever got this technology will be in advantage. Banning it is a pathetic dream of the naive.
The reason the US won't ban them is they expect others to make them and do not want the risk of having so called terrorists and rogue nations using them against the US. They care nothing for humanity, only power. And think how much money they can make by selling this stuff? Then the 'terrorists' can use it to kill Americans, like they are in Afghanistan and Iraq.
With the quality of this content its a shame that TH-cams algorithms doesn't present it to more people. Maybe this will change in the future because this program is qualitative in almost every single point. The sheer amount of companies and people that they are able to, and have the fortune to, connect with is just staggering. Thank you for this highly interesting upload!

What I do to help spread knowledge of this program is I “share” it with people in my contact list, post a link on my Instagram account and post it on my Facebook pages. It’s my small attempt at getting the word out that this show exists and should be watched. I’ve gone back and watched quite a few of the older episodes and enjoyed all of them.

With China’s population advantage and therefore troop advantage dwarfing many countries, those countries certainly won’t give up technologies which might even that field. Besides, how does the UN plan to “ban” these things anyway? The CNC/3D Printing revolution is well underway, meaning more and more advanced technology will be more easily fabricated in smaller, less advanced areas.
In an age where someone can churn out drones from one small garage and bombs from another small garage, local law enforcement would already have a difficult time, so how would the international community do any better with a developing country sourcing equipment and materials from China and/or Russia to build autonomous weapons or loitering munitions? It’s simply arrogant and delusional of our overlords to think they can control this new industrial revolution, at least without major pushback….
Killer robots could be hacked
When you saw the movie Terminator where Arnold Schwarzenegger was basically this robot. That was pretty much spaced on the truth and what day had at that time. Basically every weapon or technology that you see in Sci-Fi since the early 80s or something that we already have or will exist within a 10-year. Of time. For instance like the weapon that was used in the movie predator that Jesse Ventura uses. That was a made-up Weapon by Hollywood but a year after that weapon appeared in the movie they had made one that really functioned
I imagine a terminator scenario playing out in real life one day in the near future. AI controlled weapons could become very dangerous. Someone years ago said (I have a great idea, let’s create AI technology and then add weapons to that technology, what could go wrong?)
Even though Im not an Elon Musk fan you have to listen to him when it comes to the dangers of AI because his company is among the top when it comes to AI technology and when a few years ago he warned about these dangers people laughed. He also said when the genie is out of the bottle you can't put it back in

If the 'AI' is intelligent enough it will come up with weapons on it's own. Eventually they will probably make them too, and also decide for themselves when they should be deployed.
A ‘human in the loop’ law cannot be enforced any more than the restriction of weapon types being used. In a war, each side would justify breaking an international law on the basis of protecting their country. Land mines, are an example of laws being disregarded, then having to be cleaned up after the conflict has ended. Nuclear weapons are a little easier to restrict as the technology is difficult to create and the raw materials harder to obtain.
Drones and autonomous ‘dog’ robots are virtually impossible to control as the technology is easier to replicate. Once an algorithm is discovered, the exact code doesn’t need to stolen, just knowing it can be done is enough for others to independently replicate that algorithm in their own code.
There can be self-imposed and reciprocated restrictions on weapons usage. Hitler decided not to employ chemical weapons and the rest of the world followed suit. Though, I do not expect that will work with regards to autonomous drones. The incentives to use them are to strong, particularly in asymmetric cases.
The terminator movies kinda predicted this, if we are not careful "that" will happen in real life.

These weapons have been created, arms dealers will sell to whoever has the cash to buy them. That means eventually they will hit the street. If they are approved for military what happens when they are approved to be used on humanity? Our world is getting way to dangerous to not just consider the criminal elements in our world but how the development of these weapons will effect humanity in the future. Letting a machine do the killing removes any personalization or value of human lives. The operation of these machines would eventually desensitize humans and absolve them of responsibility.
AI is giving credence to the movie Terminator becoming a reality. If 2 computers can not only talk to each other but write their own language without the programmers knowledge resulting in a complete shut down of both computers, what do you think the capabilities of advanced AI might be?

What is an autonomous war? Knowing us, the robots would be used against others _like us_ instead of against robots. Indeed, why obliterate such sophisticated technology when a human is mortal, squishy and cannot be scrapped for parts or repaired from bits?
Also all these terminator referen are silly. We aren't that smart nor are we Matrix smart. We're only just strapping guns to the things and teaching them how to learn.

Quad copters can be built usi g 3D printer including motor parts. There are TH-camrs who show you how to build motors. To compare the control of explosives or chemicals that can be used in bomb making to Drones is silly. RC jet powered Aircraft have been built to one third the size of the original by amateur RC flyers. 2030 and beyond is going to see a total change in weapons and the transport of weapons. They will make flying domestic planes into buildings like on 9/11 belong to ancient warfare methods.
That's why the military people have to stop their business now. It's game over if this comes. We are forced to make peace.
At best the specialists can come together in an international organisation to develop some defense against it if somebody would ever invent them.

Have you seen the skyscraper flats built around London. Seems like hundreds of thousands of buildings. I'm ways flabbergasted when I see them on the train, but still not enough decent homes for our own and so many on the streets, who get nothing.

Autonomous weapons mesh easily with the way Westerners like to fight because they can strike from a distance. I say this because Westerners are on whole rather cowardly. Westerners like to dish out punishment from on high, but are afraid of getting hurt at the same time. Further more, if Westerners can't strike from on high, they often exhibit a tendency to bribe others to do their heavy lifting for them. When it comes down to it, Westerners like to lead from the rear. That is why Western armies will adopt these weapons in the near future because it sanitizes the act of killing, thus preserving Western sensibilities.
