    So I had to do an updated comment. My Linzer cookies with the Morello cherry preserves were a hit! They were so beautiful. I’ll put them together the night before Christmas and let them dry in the oven overnight with just the light on the powdered sugar remained perfect and the preserves dried out perfectly as well. They were moist and full of flavor.

    Can’t wait to make these! A traditional Christmas cookie in my family is a date sandwich cookie!

    The first time I heard of Linzer cookies and tarts, was in the Sound of Music, which took place in Austria. Subsequently, we visited the Trapp Family Lodge, where they made fresh Linzer products in their bakery. They were yummy. Think I might try making these. TY

    I did buy some of these cookie cutters with valentines hearts in the middle and the recipe that came with it, wasn't that great. Will definitely try this. Looks much better. Thanks 😊

    I made. Llinzer cookies once and filled them with plum, apricot, and raspberry filling and brought the cookies into work, and they were a big hit. One of my favorite cookies are Pecan snowballs. Absolutely delicious. TFS & Merry Christmas...

    I LOVE your presentation -especially the IMPORTANT (at least to this NEWB) detail of getting them CHILLED again after cutting the holes, and then baking THOSE only 8 minutes. I was nervous the cutouts would lose their precise and delicate edges and corners ( I have both an AUTUMN set and a CHRISTMAS set) and melt to a crude hole during baking. Turns out had I followed my gut and shortened the cooktime, AND done the pre-fridge, I might have gotten the sharp little cutouts better. THANK YOU for this.

    In New Zealand, the traditional biscuit would be anzac biscuits - made with oats, coconut and golden syrup. Question - are cake crumbs literally a cake crumbled into bits? And if so, what type of cake?

    I can’t get the dough to lift off when I use the cookie cutter to collect it. It just crumbles maybe it’s to warm ? Every time I try, I still have yet to get the dough inside the cookie cutter template.

    In Germany we eat Lebkuchen, it‘s similar to gingerbread. My parents used to live in the soviet union so I grew up with the food from there as well. Prjaniki is a very light dough covered with glaze.
    I love to bake, if you would like to know more about typical german or russian cakes, I would love to show you some. Just let me know 😁

    Why do you use cake crumbs? And what type of cake do you use?

    • @SugarGeekShow
      @SugarGeekShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To add flavor, and I just used vanilla cake crumbs. But you can substitute it with more almond flour

    I think that a dentist secretly hired the head cookie baker elf to help our teeth decay quicker which made the dentist very successful prolonging the envitable. then the dentist worked on the 2nd easter bunny. the cadbury company got to the first easter bunny years ago.

    Dear God, this thing has nothing to do with linzers... Seriously, not even close. The ingredients, the making process, nothing at all... To make a linzer dough you need 3 ingredient. 3! Count how many you used. Sticky linzer dough? It's not even possible to get it sticky if you make it the traditional way, jeez... 🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @SugarGeekShow
      @SugarGeekShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re optional, you can just use more cake flour or buy a vanilla cupcake from the store and crumble it up
