Just finished baking these linzer cookies. I left out the leavening agent (to preserve the shape of the cookie). Oh Yum with Anna Olson, please update this video. There is NO way linzer cookies should be left in the oven for 15 minutes! The ingredients for these cookies is expensive and what a shame to have to throw out cookies because the baker followed your instructions. I left mine in for 6 minutes and they are perfect.
Hi Anna, I love these cookies and you are awesome. But, for a Canadian, why are all your recipes in cups and Fahrenheits? I live in New Zealand where we have metric measurements as you do in Canada. You are an incredible baker maybe you could help us down here.
These look fabulous However I do have one question: when giving information about amount of ingredients, why are you using only volume (like "cups") amount rather than more precise and professional weight (by grams)? That would provide for more accurate recipe. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
What the hell is cake and pastry flour is it half cake flour and half pastry flour very confusing but I love your videos and I will make these as soon as I figure this out😂
The recipe called for ground almonds (different than almond flour). I could not find ground almonds so I ground them on my blender. Very easy to do. The flour suggested for this recipe is cake and pastry flour. This flour creates a tender cookie.
I had the same question. Everything I have read says, NO. You can freeze the cookies UNFILLED, and then thaw and add fruit spread. Dust with powdered sugar.
Do NOT bake for 15 minutes as indicated! My cookies completely burned! The dough is so sticky and difficult to work with too. I usually use Laura vitale's recipe and they would also come out so good, but I wanted to try something different. This is not a good recipe.
Agree with you, dough is a little hard to work with. I had to refrigerate a few time to get them into shapes. the shapes were not so perfect. May be I will look for Laura's recipe.
I hate that she puts her hands in the ingredients when measuring. How hard is it to use a small spatula to run across the top of the measuring cups instead of your hand?

She clearly said to keep an eye out the hole in the center makes them cook quicker
