Nice! I've tried just dumping coffee on it before and hoping for the best. Will try baking it next time.

I find it easier to just fill a baking tray with tea, coffee and salt mixture, and just dip the pages in, then lay them out on bath towels and use a hair dryer. For extra spotty moldy bits I take crumbs of instant coffee and let them sit on the damp pages for a little bit to get a little extra depth of spotty look.

Obviously very late to this, but you would probably get better results with the tea if you use a stronger blend than English Breakfast. That will always produce quite a pale cuppa so won't stain the paper as well.
Also, if you want to use the paper for maps or notes then folding it several times in different directions before staining can produce some nice effects. The stain pools slightly in the folds, giving a nice variation in the colour.

Thanks for the tips - they are always appreciated:)
Folding the paper would be cool too to create some nice stained creases. I'll have to remember that for next time.

3:10 Me: “Ah yes, as the ancient texts foretold centuries ago. A time of forgotten magic and the ones who wielded such forbidden power. After all this time, I finally found such a source to grant me one step closer to the gods. A magic that will make the mightiest bend to my very will!”
Partner: *rolls eyes* “… so, what’s the name of this so called “ancient wielder” of this “powerful magic” you speak of? I bet its some name like Mavor the Great or Julious the Wise, or some lame excuse of a name.”
Me: *squints at the bottom of the scroll* “… their name be… Betty Crocker!”

"Dust stirs in the darkness as the the Litch Queen Betty Crocker slowly rises from her chesterfield. A magic tingle prinks at the nape of her decayed neck - someone has read her scrolls...
It has been too long since she's felt the pull of her magic and she is hungry for it.
Soon they will come, in search of more power. And despite her hunger she knows all she must do is wait. They will come and her hunger will be satiated.
The Litch Queen moves to her kitchen and switches her oven to preheat...."

Hmm…. How about an ancient paper book/journal? Maybe even an aged spell book!

A spell book would be a lot of fun! I've been thinking about making some sort of D&D book in the near future 😉

The tea and coffee make the paper acidic so it wont last for a long time. You can very simply fix this by adding baking soda.

Maybe real lemon juice? I found soy sauce works better than coffee, but smells unique.

Soy sauce would have an interesting smell lol. I would never have thought to use that. Thank you 😊

    heat gun, not hair dryer

    • @TotalPamarchy
      @TotalPamarchy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Only, not everyone has access to a heat gun, so a hairdryer works fine in this case.
      Thanks for watching 😊
