      I used this method, and it changed the appearance of the paper, but I couldn't change its texture. It still feels new, and I need a way to make it feel old. I have paper that looks exactly like currency. Can you help me? I've tried many methods over the past four months without success. I buried it in the soil for two months, and when I took it out, its texture hadn't changed.

    This is perfect!! I told my 4 YO daughter last night we could make a treasure map for a treasure hunt and it’s been evolving into a much bigger thing! Can you antique the paper first and then easily draw on it with colored pencils? Or would it be better to draw first and then antique it??

    • @OurUpcycledLife

      I would antique it first and then draw on it. What a fun project to do with your daughter.

      May I just add that if you’re gonna print something on paper in future you wanna print first as running antiqued paper through printer might clog and damage it

    Hi! This is fabulous! Sometimes getting certain results fast is great. This is one of those processes. I had been so reluctant to try making stain paper because of the oven drying process. Now even my kid can do this! It looks so genuine. I can hardly wait to try it. Thank you so much for sharing!

    I use coffee and tea to age my papers. There's also "cinnamon staining" papers but I haven't done that yet. To add more of an authentic aged look, I'll also add some coffee smears, drops & splatters. Love it! I love how you make the paper edge rough -- it's perfect!

    I dissolve instant coffee with hot water in a tiny bowl. Add more or less coffee for different intensities of aging. I use a paintbrush to apply the solution onto the paper. I have an old window screen which I use to dry my papers quickly by laying the wet papers on top then placing the screen over a raised area to let air circulate around the papers until dry. Works great as well when making handmade paper.

  • @charimarmartin459

    I want to try this with book pages to glue onto a poster board! I already brewed some coffee so I'll see how it works with just using a wet paper towel without the instant coffee in it. 😊 I'll keep you posted!!

  • @padraicbrown6718
    @padraicbrown6718 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Perfect! This is just what I needed for a project today! I used a combination of tea and coffee, and dried in the oven.
    Only issue I ran into was the use of scissors to roughen the edges --- I found that a nice smooth table spoon or soup spoon works much better! It roughens the paper, delaminates it slightly and doesn't make it look like it's been cut with a blade or sharp object.

    I was wondering if you age it first then print on it do you cut the edges before or after you put it in the printer? Another question if I print it at staples (the store) will the ink run? If I want to burn the edges do I do that before or after using the coffee? Is the paper brittle and gonna brake if it folds?
