Any idea whether the soy sauce paper will eventually rot or decompose? I tried this 3 weeks ago and it worked great (thanks!) but I'm wondering whether what I made will last

Can i do this with old newspaper? And instead of coffee or soy souce, can i use foodcoloring since i want to make a big batch of it.

Where I live rains all the time so I can't let it soak in the sun. Would put it in the oven with a low or medium heat be a good option or would it ruin the paper?

Yes!! I am trying to figure out how to get the smell out. Maybe some baking soda?
I am trying the baking soda. I put in a plastic container with a lid. I'm going to let it sit for 48-72hrs. Hopefully that'll work. If not moving on the dryer sheets.
Yes a very bad smell! Looks great but it's back to coffee for me! :(
I ended up trashing it. The soy sauce smell never left. So i used vanilla extract instead. Also coffee works great too!!

My dog would chew it up in a heartbeat as it will smell like soy sauce, food. So Tea or coffee would be the best way I think. I don't want my paper smelling of soy sauce. 😂

The only problem with the first technique is that your paper will now smell like soy sauce. You can also use some instant coffee added to some water as well to age the paper.
You could also use tea and it would work well too.

Don't have a heat gun, so I'll have to give the soy sauce method a try.

Can we use Soya coffee or black, mint tea?
Just bake it and check it . Color will change and paper will be brittle like old paper should. Soy ssuce is for chicken chow mein!!

Depending on brand...Some brands have a more noticeable smell than others but mine it's quite noticeable :)
No strong smell for lemon juice and it will evaporate on its own but vinegar will have a sharp unpleasant chemical odor

I tried the soy and the earlier coffee video technique. The soy worked best. really nice effect, but the test artwork smells of soy now. I hope that will go away.

@@CrescentMoon898 well, I didn't take too long. A few days i guess. But I didn't put my face up to it close to test it. It could have still had an odor I suppose. Side note: I did one and didn't like it, and was able to wash the soy off under a tap. It removed most of it. If you have pencil work on the paper, I wouldn't recommend it other than a last resort though. It dulls the pencilart a little.
This is horrible! Such a good waste to Soy Sauce! And on your other video, I never knew that there could POSSIBLY BE other uses for coffee. Ha ha ha Very interesting tho
