Kinesio Tape is a great tool to use to help in stroke recovery. In this application, it gives your wrist a cue to lift, which can be an especially difficult movement after a stroke. It's especially helpful when trying to engage in functional tasks.
*NOTE: Do NOT use K tape over sites of active cancer, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), active skin infection, or an open wound. Be cautious about using if you have an allergy to adhesives. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for everything I had a stroke December 8, 2021 and I’ve used you to recover since then. I’m on the island of St. Croix USVI and they do not offer any therapy when you are in the hospital they don’t even have running water in the hospital. So for seven days I stood up in my emergency room from 6 AM to 6 PM and I tried to give myself my own therapy. After being discharged I headed to physical therapy forthree days a week and it helps but it’s not as good as the classes I watch on TH-cam with you. I have stiffness in my foot and some spasticity in my hand but I’m able to speak and I’m still walking with a limp because of my foot. If I was stateside and I had a job with insurance I’d probably have a better go at it but here you have to devise A way to cure yourself. I wish I had a job at the moment I’d send you some money just because you’ve been such an advocate for us but I am in the process of going broke lol even nursing and social work is very delayed here. But I have to say my job would like me back and I wish I could motivate to find that directionBut again thank you so much for your help i’ve been told to stay stress-free but I don’t know how I’m supposed to do that knowing that each day that passes I’m financially getting more and more strapped, hopefully the social work will help me out at some point. My landlord took has not renewed my lease to add insult to injury she says it’s because I have a dog but I know it’s because I had a stroke and she doesn’t want a invalid on her property or anyone recovering. But I take the good with the bad’
My motto Is fall down seven times get up eight times ! If you have any advice also for eyesight changed during stroke please let me know and this is not peripheral damage it’s actual eyesight vision far and near I noticed a change and I’m wondering if it will level out?

@ajitlakra, There is a link in the description to the Kinesio tape I used in the video. But depending on where you're located, you may or may not be able to access that exact brand!

Do you have exercises for wrist twisting? Thank you

Hey @markangelocinco, can you be more specific? What do you mean by wrist twisting? Thanks!

@@PostStrokeOrg I'm not sure what the correct terminology is. It is the motion you do when you are holding the door knob to open it. I saw one exercise recommended in one of your videos to address spasticity which is to flip the affected hand back and forth with the aid of unaffected hand. Thank you for the videos that you are sharing to the community.

My wife has hardly any movement in her right hand and arm. Can this tape still help? If so, how.

@sox mate, Great question! So if she doesn't have much movement (especially wrist extension which is bending your wrist back), this may not be a super helpful technique for her. I usually recommend it when someone has at least a few degrees of wrist extension. It helps provide the brain with a cue to move the wrist back but there has to be some active movement, usually, to start with. I hope that helps!
