The Khalil Roundtree style switch to HEAVY muay thai was so damn shocking to see. The guy was pretty much known for being big but with no distinct style other than being viscous. The Thai style was the perfect thing for him considering his attributes

Learning Muay Thai in Thailand won’t make you fight like a Thai. They train their whole life, incredibly intensely and violently compared to most other countries. Just because you spend a certain period of time in a country training into this country sport won’t necessarily mean you will be at the same level as the locals
@@mat-hr4vuhe trained in other styles his entire life, so it wouldn't be that difficult to adjust his techniques, especially while surrounding himself with high level muay thai instructors and fighters

I would love to see more Muay-Thai brought into a fighters arsenal as a go to means for them to use when it’s needed. Exciting display of offensive technique!
Some of my favorite fighters are stylistically purists in that they only master one discipline for all of striking (and it's obviously always Muay Thai) and one discipline for all of grappling (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Something about that purity adds an elevated artistry to combat.
Seriously the dude really fell in love with it. And now he looks fucking vicious he’s been subbed a couple times but he’s so goddamn strong and explosive that the Thai style really works for him. The lil Thai guys handed the one power over to this man
