A native of Kodagu, Manoj Thammaiah missed the authentic meaty flavours of Coorg in Bengaluru. And so he set up a street cart to cook and sell pork based dishes in the evenings, whilst holding a job in an export firm during the day. That was seven years ago. Encouraged by the steady, encouraging response of customers over the years, he has now given up his job and expanded to a tiny shop, Coorg Style Pork Corner, in BTM 2nd Stage, Bengaluru where he and his wife cook delicious preparations to recipes from their home. I dropped in impromptu one afternoon to taste most of what they have to offer. If you love pork, certainly a place to visit someday. Hope you enjoy this episode, part of our special initiative to shine a bit of light on unsung eateries that are doing good work.

I am a pork freak. I had my best, in a restaurant in Madikere. Looks like, I have a job to do in Bengaluru, away from the eyes of my Cardiologist.
Which restaurant in madikeri bro?
@@adarshshetty3963 We walked our way from our hotel near Raja seat towards township & entered a restaurant, which was serving Coorgi cuisine. Sorry, my memory, on the name
@@vasanthkumarjayaraman6753 Is it east end?
@@dronemantraveller Oh yes! Thanks. I was trying to figure out.
Keep on encouraging these small family run eateries. The best when it comes to authentic family recipes.
Guys trust me. I have had been to their cart when they had newly started it back in 2019. I used to visit there on regular basis because of the quality of their food. Happy to see that he has opened a new shop. Anyone wants to have that authentic Coorg style food please do visit here.

Good afternoon dear Kripal - I have loved the “Unsung-eateries” series this far and I am confident that this one would also be par excellence. So it’s a “Porky” day 😀 Hello to Manoj 👋 Wow what a tue around from selling these delicacies from a Push Cart for 7 years to setting up this small yet wonderful eatery. The pork dishes in the kitchen looks good . Love the fact that Manoj reiterated on the hygiene part to an extent that he gets his meat certified by a Vet 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Very impressive. You are right the Coorg special magic masala does resemble a roasted coffee powder . Time to dive into the dishes . It’s time for some Pork Pepper Dry . You loved the second bite which had both the element of fat and meat to ensure that it provided you a well balanced flavour . Time to introduce the Pandi Curry to partner with the Akki Roti . Seems to be a lethal combo making it the clear winner . Now to test your spice tolerance by indulging in the Red Chilli Pork dry . Ha ha ha it would indeed provide good company to an evening beverage 😃 I am still drooling over the Pandi Curry. Looks visually spectacular and your review complimented the looks . Meanwhile the spice of the RCPD has slowly started opening your sinuses but you haven’t removed your hat so you passed the spice test 👍👍 How is it that the Green Chilli dry Pork is more tender than the others . Is it’s because of a good resting period that you mentioned which would tenderise the meat and soak in the masala to a perfect extent . Anyways so happy that you relished . Neer Dosa with the PC is a happy combo . Oh wow they serve rice with Rasam however initially you gravitated towards the delicious PC and enjoyed it with the rice and later on had the Rasam Rice . Wow what a fantastic preparation by the couple and May God bless them and their business . OMG for all that quantum that you relished the bill amount ended up to Rs 480 . Incredible 💯💯💯To be candid this was yet another super fabulous vlog and I thoroughly enjoyed it . Too good dear Kripal 👍👍 Last week I did have some good sea food after your vlog now would like savour this meat during the weekend 😀 Thanks to you and our fellow viewers for this wonderful recommendation. You take care . Have a wonderful day & God Bless 😇 Loads of love & respect 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
Hi Rajesh, happy that our last vlog tempted you enough to indulge in some seafood fare, hope you stars portend some meaty indulgence in the near future too. ;-) I've enjoyed exploring these 'unsung eateries' and although this series may culminate soon to make way for some other interesting culinary adventures, am looking to showcase more of these small spaces (like we have in the past too). So stay tuned. Wish you a great week ahead, and stay tuned for the next one. Different cuisine from what we normally explore. :-) Cheers!
Good delicious food every one can must try❤
Being a North Easterner and an avid pork freak I’m always on the lookout for restaurants to binge in. Thank you for putting the above, surely gonna try
Any recommendations for some good restaurants to try pork dishes ?
Super Food Sir🥩🥩🥩
Mouth watering episode, my cardiologist has banned me going with red meat.
Still I follow all posts of Kripal Sir without fail.

I was eating Pork Garlic fry while watching and sitting at home here in Coorg and still Kripal sir managed to make me drool. Gonna try this when im back in Blore
😀 Lovely! That garlic fry sounds delicious. 😋
👌👌
I frequently eat here since I'm in BTM. It's a lovely location for PORK lovers !
my favourite place
It's definitely higher than 480 for all the dishes presented though... Pork alone adds upto 520.
was this the street cart near Indian oil petrol pump?
Thank you
If you’re in or around Nagarbhavi, try Marenaad Kitchen - Flavours of Coorg. The taste is amazing, and I loved it. They’re on Zomato.
Sir the other two dries before the curry 😂
Got your drift sir 😊
I thought your comparison of katla by you at Mamtha hotel Hassan series as When the fresh drops of rain hits the earth The aroma of wet earth The faint earthiness is what you taste in Katla was the best But comparison of Karta masala with finely ground is masterpiece
Sir visit coorg cuisine at madikeri for coorg treditonal food.

Of all the meats together. It is Pork which carries all the flavours due to its large fat concentration.
And a cold beer and a cigar after a sumptuous meal.
